assuming you're already familiar with VUL plans... both plans are single pay VUL plans. death benefit is 125% of the single premium or the fund value (whichever is higher).

The main differences are:

Flexi
- min amount 100k
- you can top-up (excess premium) later on, you can add riders (CIB, etc.) too

Maxi
- min amount 250k
- no top-ups, no attachable riders
- maximizes growth because there are no initial charges (meaning the whole 250k for example is turned into units of investment), there are withdrawal charges if you withdraw within the first 5 years
- 'no medical' option available (there's a condition if this option is used)
- the funds are different pools but with the same design as the bond, balanced, and equity funds of flexi1

in summary, both plans are good for someone who has excess funds, wants growth, and wants some insurance for their money (the advantage over pure investment channels). good for estate planning too.
flexi1 - if you want health riders, if you want to top up, if you don't want withdrawal charges within the first 5 years
maxi1 - if your goal is growth, 40s+ who might want the "no medical" option

fund performances are found on the website (im not sure if i can post the website address)

^ flexilink is different from flexilink1. flexilink up to 88, but you could do premium holiday if the fund is enough. flexilink1 un single pay, but you can still top-up

I don't understand why you are asking that question.
Did you miss db13's post?

She summarized each of Sunlife's single pay VUL's features
nicely.

Or did you mean something else entirely?

Oh ok, I guess you did not see db13's post then.
She already posted the information you were looking for.

Here it is again:

For Flexilink1 it is 100k.
You can also opt to get the Maxlink1 which has no
admin charges but the minimum is higher at 250k

sis db, i am paying 30t/ year sa isang policy ko. (flexilink1)

nakaka 3 years na ako so mga 90t na nahulog ko.

eto ang nakita ko ngayon sa account ko online:

current fund value- 27thou

question ko: kung 30yrs na ako nagbabayad, less than 900thou ba makukuha ko or more than (depende sa market dahil sa mutual fund)???

thanks in advance!

sis m_lim,

since you're paying 30k annually, that means your plan is flexilink (not flexilink1). yung flexilink1 kasi one-time pay lang yun, minimum of 100k.

for flexilink, after 30 years, depending on the market performance yung makukuha mo na returns. usually it's pegged at conservatively 10% growth per annum for the funds that you have invested in. you can look at your proposal - there's an estimated amount indicated there at age 50/ age60 and age 65. but those are estimates only and based on assumptions that there are no withdrawals.

sis m_lim, yeah ^ check the proposal. projections are there. but assuming you pay regularly and on time, there are no withdrawals, market continues to perform even if it's just at 4%, depending also on the riders you have attached... usually around the 10th-15th years fund value will equal the premiums you have already paid for. then onwards from there, exceed na siya. plus you have the death benefit pa. 10 years kasi is a good long time for investing. the actuarian (gods) naman calculated the plans in such a way that you will get more that what you put in. if not, hello bakit pa ako kukuha ng insurance/investment diba? but of course they cannot "guarantee" it kasi di nila hawak ang market. pero wala namang market na pabagsak continuously ng 10 years. so sa case mo na 30 years ang tinitignan mo, mahaba iyan. dont worry. btw, the fund value will be lower relative to the premiums in the first few years, kasi most of the charges lower as the years go by. the costs of setting up a policy is at the beginning, the lowered/0 charges are like "bonuses" given for loyalty. that's why I always tell people, before you open one, understand it. once you've opened up one, stick to it. your older self will reap the rewards and thank you

(my parents years ago closed their and our (siblings) insurances, sayang!!)
