MF -> There weren't any affordable UITFs then and BPI's MF had high investment
amounts, so I had no choice but to go with Sunlife's option B if I wanted to avoid
paying any sales load hehe

VUL -> The best VUL charge wise back in 2009. I don't know if it still stands.

^Sis swit_squiggle  blog mo pala yung nabasa ko about Sun Peso Provider, kaya isa yun sa pinagpipilian ko ngayon ;D but im surprised, Sun Maxilink Prime ang meron ka. Do you also avail that rider thing? Para san ba yun? And is it really necessary?

Actually sis ephaphase out na yang Sun Peso Provider by next month. When I first heard about Sun Peso Provider sis, as in gustong gusto ko rin yun. but practicality wise hindi namin kaya ang budget and at the moment mas kailangan ng family ang more insurance kaysa sa savings, kasi nasa building of assets pa kami. Karamihan nga ng kinuha namin is VUL isa lang ang whole life. hehe. safety net kasi yung traditional. pang estate planning na din sa huli. at 26, naiisip ko na yun? hahaha!

Sun Peso is more of a savings plan. And I'll reconsider getting one as a gift for the apo na lang in the future (swerter naman nila sa amin) hahaha.

Riders are just add ons. If you dont like it, then pwede mong ipatanggal. Kasi may equivalent cost din yan.

Actually sis. Yung iba ayaw sa stocks related plans. kasi masyadong conservative. gusto ng iba sigurado so they opt for whole life plans. Decisions are made on how you see things base from your experiences and how you see the future naman e.

A typical insurance agent would recommend any product just to make a sale..In this case..RUN!!

Sis..what is your purpose of getting such plan muna? Are you willing to take the risk that goes with it?

Merong ganyan si hubby na plan. The first VUL na kinuha namin para sa kanya. My reason is gusto ko he has a personal insurance on top of his company group insurance which is tiba-tiba naman ako sakaling may mangyari sa kanya (ngayon alam nyo nang sigurista ako, till death do us part, I will love you because I have more than enough when you die. hehe. sama no?) oist..love ko si hubby huh. siya lang ang siguradong investment ko na within 25-30 years mag aapreciate. hehe

With this plan kasi most of the money ay napupunta sa investment na portion and i have the flexibility to choose the amount of insurance. I dont like the idea din na magbabayad ako ng yearly insurance (getting term) baka kasi makalimutan ko, tamarin ako, who knows ano pa ang maging mood swing ko sa future so parang pay it forward lang ang ginawa ko o baka naman kung anong mangyari kay hubby at hindi sya maging insurable 10 years later, mawalan ng trabaho (daming anticipation).  daldal ko!!! ;D

I wouldn't get it naman if I don't like the plan. hehe.

standard lang sis. TIN # and 1 gov't issue ID with signature.

Just answer the medical related questions truthfully and pag ok naman ang health mo, no need for medical. Kasi if found out within the 2 years contestability period at nagsinungaling, something happened  to the insured, return of premiums lang ang ibibigay sa beneficiaries.

@angelovepink no seminar required sis. Basically, your advisor will be enough to inform you lahat ng gusto mong malaman. itanong mo lahat sa kanya and he/she will be able to answer it.

Your advisor is not just a one time salesman.

He/She becomes a valuable part of your financial planning, if he/she does his/her due diligence of studying the laws of the land and financial situation of the Philippines and World Economy, you'll be surprised dami nilang alam. So take advantage of their expertise.

Planning to get an insurance and my officemate recommends Sunlife. At the age of 31, now ko lang naisip na kelangan ko na talaga isipin ang future ko while single pa ako. Wala pa rin ako knowledge about insurance, so hindi ko alam kung ano kukunin ko. Any suggestions? Gusto ko sana retirement and savings.

Thanks in advance :)

^My bf is a sunlife agent pero Prulife ang insurance ko since mas nauna pagkuha ko ng insurance kesa sa pagaagent niya. I tried to compare yung portfolios nila. In terms of medical coverage mas lamang ng konti ang Prulife pero in terms of investment mas lamang si Sunlife. Bottomline is either brands will work naman pero it's best to find an agent na pahahalagahan yung nilalabas ninyong pera. Kapag may iaalok ulit saka ulit lilitaw. Nakaka-off lang. Si bf kasi iniba niya strategy niya. From time to time, he makes it to a point na makausap clients niya for updates and tinuturuan how to save etc. Financial stewardship type of seminar which we learned from our org. Kung you have people who depends on your monthly income, get the best medical coverage, investment and retirement para may mangyari man sa inyo hindi sila mahihirapan saan kukuha ng panggastos.

Sis yung namention mo about "at the moment mas kailangan ng family ang more insurance kaysa sa savings" medyo naguluhan ako, sa Sunlife Maxilink Prime, more on insurance siya than savings? Like after ilang years may babalik din ba sayo, or pwede ka mawithdraw, kasi nasabi mo isa sa purpose mo is for retirement din. Kung 10 years to pay lang eto, after 10 years what will be the next step na? Sensya na sa kakulitan :)

In terms of medical coverage mas lamang ng konti ang Prulife pero in terms of investment mas lamang si Sunlife.

You mean sunlife has better returns compared to prulife in your experience?
What funds are you comparing?
I was always under the impression that prulife's funds performed better than
sunlife's but I haven't really tested it to see if its true
