May I ask how much yun payment niyo on your first month and how consistent kayo? Like every month, same amount ba yun nalalagay niyo? Thanks again :)

100k/ year yun kay hubby.  Quarterly yun pero monthly ko binabayaran for cost averaging ;D 25k for the first payment then I think 8k monthly succeeding months so it will come out na more than 100k.

Actually may kausap na akong Sunlife Advisor before, she offers me the Maxilink prime. I'm still undecided kung yun ba ang kunin ko which is payable for 10 years or yun Mutual funds na hindi ako required magbigay ng payment every month. What do you think mga sis? I want to focus more on investment kasi not on life insurance.

Sis, if you're worried about "being forced" to pay monthly - Sunlife has flexible payment terms. Even if you got a monthly payment VUL, you could pay for it monthly, quarterly or annually - depends on your financial capacity. ;)

If you don't buy it now, somebody will buy it for you at a later date. I mean in the event you will die tomorrow, the next day, the next month, your family will buy this kabaong and flowers and lupa sa sementeryo which would roughly cost 100,000-250,000 for a decent burial just because you didn't get an insurance.

Morbid...  :(

Great mxherr! Iwas hard selling pag ganoon. hehe. Karamihan kasi they purchase out of nahihiya sa agent na eturn down.  ;)

Curious! Anyone who made an insurance claim from Sunlife? From the death of a relative?

For Hubby Regular 10 years to pay na VUL 60K/year - parang Maxiprime ata yun  and 1 Time payment na 500K which works exactly like a mutual fund. Wala na siyang insurance charge once ang fund value is more than 625,000. Luckily, 1st year pa lang, lampas na sa insurance value niya kaya hindi na kami nachacharge for the insurance. So parang pure investment na ang labas, but upon death automatic release ito compare to MFs. Kumuha din pala kami ng Endowment na 10 years to pay din.

^isa pa sis.. kasi 2 insurance ko.. i don't have dependents except sa mom ko... 1 is philamlife yung 3 years na lang babayaran (life insurance) and manulife (endowment insurance) ito 2 years pa lang ako nakakabayad 12k a year tas 100k lang ang face amount and after 20 years ko pa makukuha to... Do you think ok pa icontinue ang manulife ko? and invest na lang sa Sunlife VUL?

Kung whole life insurance yung binabayaran mo sa philamlife ngayon, I don't think you still need to purchase VUL. Pero kung term insurance lang sya, I might still consider VUL for continuous protection.

About naman sa endowment, based on how I know it, magbabayad ka ng premiums until a certain period of time (5-15 years) and after 20 years pa sya magma-mature. Once the policy matures, sila naman ang magbabayad sayo ng premiums (percentage of Face amount, in a certain period of time). Am I right?

If 10 years or less mo lang sya babayaran at may kasama na syang lifetime insurance, I suggest icontinue mo sya. Sayang din yung 2 years mong binayaran. Sa VUL kasi covered ka lang while you are still paying for the premiums.

But if I were you, since may insurance ka na naman. I will just invest my money in Mutual or Trust fund instead of VUL. Maliit lang kasi yung returns sa VUL and naka-hold pa yung money mo. In the event na hindi mo mabayaran yung premiums mo, mababawasan din yung cash value.

sis swit_squigle mentioned to me that Sunlife has a new level term insurance na covered ang insured untill age 100. Parang 15,615/year for 1M for a 31yr old female.

@mamee,

That means you have to "die" at age 95
to break even in the premiums unless there are
dividends?

But I'm guessing there are dividends since
swit did say you can have it self liquidate.

Hi sis swit, i have a question about maxilink prime. Yung pinaka basic na walang rider, tig 6.5k yung quarterly diba? Is this more on investment or protection.

@artificialstar actually sis the basic plan for Maxilink Prime is the guaranteed death benefit + investment.

Please clarify what do you mean more on investment or protection?

If you want VUL's and you are protection driven and you will be needing the money for your retirement go with MaxiPrime. If you want a better return on your investment over a short period of time and you may need the money for education of your children or any expense that you may need in 10 to 15 years but still you wanted to be insured, MaxiBright would be a better fit. Now, if you wanted asset protection naman and you have a lot of money na tinatago lang sa time deposit and you will be needing it in 3-5 years One time pay VULs like flexilink1, Maxilink1 is the way to go.

Ngayon, depende na sa iyo kung gusto mong lagyan ng ano mang rider ( Accidental Death Benefit, Hospital Income Benefit, Total Disability Benefit, Accidental Death, Disability and Dismemberment).

What I meant for protection is the insurance part ng VUL (death benefit, hospitalization, etc).

Or parang buy and firget thingy tas i-reredeem lang after 5 yrs or so? Tia! :)

Yes, pwede mo talaga isali ang Hospital Income along with disability and accident death sa Maxilink at the same time protected ka with insurance. It is expected naman talaga na matapos ang bayarin after 10 years if all goes well and if maganda ang returns possible din na kahit earlier pwede na siyang magstop ng payment.

Invest and forget sila, balikan mo na lang after 3-5 years. Pero pwede kayong magwithdraw anytime ha, but of course may charges if you withdraw earlier.

Yes sis. Pero pag mag-add ng riders, meaning your quarterly would be more than 6.5k na. Tama po ba?
