Hi Awesomecakes! I pay the yearly premium. So once lang ako magbayad per year. My VUL is about 50K. ;)

Thanks again mga sis :) Nakaka-inspire naman kayo! Sana makapagstart na rin ako soon. Actually may kausap na akong Sunlife Advisor before, she offers me the Maxilink prime. I'm still undecided kung yun ba ang kunin ko which is payable for 10 years or yun Mutual funds na hindi ako required magbigay ng payment every month. What do you think mga sis? I want to focus more on investment kasi not on life insurance.

@sis awesomecakes, pwede mo din option is to get a term insurance since cheaper sya as compared to whole life insurance. then invest ka din sa mutual fund of your choice.

ang saya talaga mga sis. sayang nga sana nilakihan ko na yung investment ko dati. e siyempre wala pa ako gaano resources nun. ngayon na mas madami na ako resources, mas mahal na siya. pero go go go pa rin, kasi magtataas pa naman ang price. saka pang long term ko tong equity fund, retirement fund ko na siya. so dagdag lang nang dagdag ;)

Hi questions lang ulit.. wala pa yung policy number ko and I'm waiting for it. Since may 15 day free-look provision naman sya, kailangan pa bang padaanin sa agent ko kung gusto ko syang iterminate?

Wala kasi akong dependents, 23 y/o pa lang ako and may life insurance naman ako from my employer kaya parang hindi practical sakin ang VUL.

I suddenly become interested in Sun Smarter Life Elite and invest some in MF seperately. Any idea how much is the annual premium for this plan?

hi sis, we have the same dilemma. I talked to sunlife na, we can terminate naman the policy anytime, punta lang sa office nila, surrender the contract, may form na fill out and 2 valid id's. You have the option naman not informing your agent pero they will find out pa rin naman kasi ang alam ko imomonitor ka nila, in case na malapit na yung next payment mo, so sa pagkakaintindi ko sa usapan namen ng agent ko before, they keep track and monitor their clients. :-)

I want to terminate the policy talaga, hindi naman kasi pang-emergency yung VUL. Maganda sya kung kukuha ka talaga ng insurance for your dependents. As of the moment, mas kailangan kong mag-ipon ng pang-emergency fund ko.

I just hope na hindi ako ma-hassle sa pagterminate ng contract within the cooling off period. Baka kasi may mga kailangan pa akong kausaping agents para lang ma-terminate yung contract.

You may have availed the wrong product at the moment and regretfully made the decision of abruptly deciding to get an insurance product.

Nonetheless you never see the need of insuring yourself because after all you see yourself dependent for your family in the event something might happen for you. If you don't see it as a need, it is in conclusion that somebody will provide it for you.

If you don't buy it now, somebody will buy it for you at a later date. I mean in the event you will die tomorrow, the next day, the next month, your family will buy this kabaong and flowers and lupa sa sementeryo which would roughly cost 100,000-250,000 for a decent burial just because you didn't get an insurance.

sad to say but, nobody plans to fail except that he/she fails to plan. :-)

and if i do this ano ba ang pros and cons?

paadvise naman mga sis

Hi sis!

Kung may dependents ka and there's a need for insurance, I suggest that you avail VUL. After 10 years, halos babalik yung premium na binayaran mo. After 10 years, you have to option to continue the policy and most of your premiums will go to investment.

Mutual fund kasi is purely investment, no insurance included but the returns is much higher than VUL. You don't need to wait for more than 5 years para makitang lumalago yung pera mo and you have the option to withdraw everything that you have invested. Unlike sa VUL, fund value lang yung pwede mong kunin.

Honestly, kung wala lang akong insurance at stable kong mababayaran yung premiums, I would stick to VUL. Kaya lang natagalan din kasi akong mabayad ng premium for 10 years kaya I opt to terminate my policy and invest in MF na lang.

^isa pa sis.. kasi 2 insurance ko.. i don't have dependents except sa mom ko... 1 is philamlife yung 3 years na lang babayaran (life insurance) and manulife (endowment insurance) ito 2 years pa lang ako nakakabayad 12k a year tas 100k lang ang face amount and after 20 years ko pa makukuha to... Do you think ok pa icontinue ang manulife ko? and invest na lang sa Sunlife VUL?
