hi babythug28 and babynibok, curious lang ako. how much yung premium na kinuha ninyo? And how much face value niya. I just want to see how much and yearly ng 10 years to pay lang.

Yun kay hubby ay 10yrs to pay, 1.5M face value (tama ba @swit_squiggle?), 25k per quarter.

^Yung fund value is the actual value of your money sis in the company's custody. Meanwhile if you surrender it or kukunin mo ang lahat ng kung anong meron sa iyong policy, babawasan yan ng charges at kung anong matira yun ang makukuha ng policyholder - yan ang cash surrender value. If you withdraw at any year, bababa ang NAVPU ng policy mo consequently, bababa din ang makukuha mong pera towards retirement or in the long run.

@gurlz,

VUL funds's price and thus your fund value fluctuate daily.
So if you took out say 5,000 and left 50,000 and the NAV(Price) is 2,
then next month you return the 5,000 back in and the NAV is now
at 3, then your total fund value is now 75,000 + the 5,000 you returned
for a grand total of 80,000.

Also you have to take into account that there's no "returning"
your money. You are essentially investing new money as far
as Sunlife is concerned.

So the 5,000 you are "returning" will be counted as premium
payment or if you've already paid your premium for the year then
it would be considered a top-up in which case you'd be charged
a fee.

Paano po ba malalaman yung fund na in-allot nila for mutual fund? ito po ba yung
Fund Value as of Issue Date
Fund Value as of February 22, 2013
Cash Surrender Value as of February 22, 2013?

Thanks in advance :)

@gurlz, no problem

@yanmae, check mo yung contract or yung proposal
may premium charges dun, yun yung babawasan nila
outright sa premium mo. i.e. 1st year sa Flexilink 85%
so 15% ang mapupunta sa fund.

Pero may monthly cost of insurance at periodic
charges rin. Lahat neto makikita mo sa proposal or
contract

i am currently holder of Sunlife Flexilink.. parang nababagalan ako sa paglago ng pera ko sa kanila. now im planning to surrender my plan, get the cash surrender value and place it sa mutual funds. at least dun mas nakita ko ang galaw ng pera ko. or place it sa term insurance sa philam.

Happy to share with you all:

My first VUL with Sunlife, and projected fund value niya by this year (at 10%) was 15K. Now I found out from my agent na ang actual na kinita ng plan ko is 18K, as of February 2! Our market is doing really well!

Hi sis!

Can someone here enlighten me about sa VUL ng sunlife. Plan ko sana 2k/month yung ihulog ko. Ilang percent lang dito yung ilalagay nila for investment? At sa susunod na year, mas lalakihan ba nila yung ilalagay sa MF ko or it will still depend sa hulog ko?

Be aware po that VUL's combination po ito ng INSURANCE + INVESTMENT. That means you are charge for the insurance kahit lets say tapos ka na magbayad after 5 or 10 years. And it is deducted in your fund value.

If you have a policy contract you can check it below the projected fund value at certain age/duration either on page 3 or 4.

Expect that in the first three years maliit lang naman talaga ang napupunta sa investment portion. Think it like when you are putting a business. Nagpupundar ka pa and hindi mo pa nakukuha ang inilagay mong pera. After the 10 years usually diyan pa lang nag breabreak even sis. and from that mas malaki na ang possibly na kumita kaysa sa charges. If you put your money in this vehicle, think long term.

^^ pinkaboo, naging interesado din ako sa kinita ng sunlife ko thanks to your post. and yes, mas mataas din yung gain compared sa projected value 10% (based on annual mode of payment). pero sabi ni agent, kung annual lang daw yung pagbabayad namin mas mataas sana yung gain (1 taon pa lang yung policy namin, turning 2 by half of this year). semi-annual lang kasi kami ngayon since mahirap sa budget namin ang isang bagsakan.

hi sis! opinion lang po. wag mo sana ikagalit... please do not compare VUL with MF. kasi VUL's main purpose is insurance, added feature lang ang investment. Remember sa VUL insured ka, sa pure MF walang insurance. If you compare the 2, mas malaki talaga ang gains ng MF kasi focus ang money mo sa investment, its purely investment. You should be comparing VUL vs another VUL product of Sunlife/other insurance companies. Or MF of Sunlife vs MF of other investment companies (i.e. FAMI) yun lang po thanks!
