I think hindi pa siguro sis, by the time na matatapos mo ang policy mo 47 y.o ka palang, malayo pa sa retirement age which is 60 to 65 y.o

Life insurance is not a matter of age but a matter of need.

Ask this:

1. Do you have dependents who will suffer great financial loss in case of your demise?
2. Do you have properties that you want to pass on to your children?
3. Do you plan to expand your business and utilize debt to leverage?
4. Are you a keyman in a company that solely depends on your expertise?
5. Are you an investor that wanted to shield your investment from taxes?

If any of this you answer yes, definitely, you need insurance.

May mga fixed term naman na offered na lately kaya di pa old yan in 5 or 10 years tapos na agad di tulad before.

Hello girls! :)

Newbie here (first post actually)

I've been invested in Sunlife since 2009. Sobrang OKAY ng agent ko. Very upfront, and direct and hindi sales-pitchy ng dating niya. She will really just tell you things straight. Sobrang honest ako sa kanya like, "eto lang budget ko, what do I do?" Or "If I only had this much, but I want this and this and this, what can you give?" Yung ganon ba. She adjusts based on my needs, hindi yung benta lang ng benta para lang makabenta.

So going back, I have two plans with Sunlife. Yung isa, endowment fund, which gives me a GUARANTEED amount of cash after the fourth yr and the years after that. GUARANTEED, meaning, I can get that money na. This plan, I invested in 2009, so by this year, pwede ko na kunin yung mga cash benefits.

My second plan is the VUL. Since tumaas na sweldo ko kahit papano, I got this in 2011. 10 yrs to pay. 52K a year. Eto yung may portion na kumikita sa stocks. So far so good. I'm quite happy with both my plans. I feel very much secure whatever happens to me.

BTW, I'm still single and the second plan, I got for my future child pala! I'm not yet pregnant or anything pero dun ko kukunin pangpa-aral ko. Hehe

Hi Sis swit_squiggle!

Tama ba you're working for Sunlife? Kasi I have a Sun MaxiLink Bright VUL that I've been paying since late 2009, eh I have a bit of money now and my agent is nowhere to be found. I need a bit of advise lang. Would it be a good idea to invest that money into my VUL and if I do, how will that work? Would it be like the whole amount would be placed into investments or dun na kukunin yun monthly payments ko? So there, pasensya na had to ask here.

Hi raven03. If you've been paying your MaxiBright VUL religiously since 2009 2 more years and your already done. Congratulations!

I have a bit of money now.

What do you mean by this? Are you planning to pay it in full so you don't have to worry for 2 more years na babayaran?

I don't advise that you pay it in full, just continue the monthly/quarterly payments. That way you are cost averaging and remember that any excess/top up you put, aside from your premium is charge by 5%.

There are always two sides of the coin in investing. Buying shares early, and the chance of purchasing stocks/unit at a lesser cost is high or the other way around - since we cannot timing the market (I'm referring to average investors and not traders.) So, para masmoothen ang zigzag market - if you chose equity or balance - stick to the monthly/quarterly.

@stormy, I have a guess, sa Alabang ba yan sis?  :o hehe

Sa mga ganyang situation, it's better that you report such incident sis.

Clients are the heart ng kahit anumang company. Kailangang ingatan, irregardless of what status in life.

Hi everyone..ive been looking into sun smarter life...ok yung endowment part for the elite plan but the thing is malaki yung premium para sa akin...50k plus a year >:( i asked quotation naman for the classic, mas swak sa budget...id just like to be enlightened on the Living benefits in the form of guaranteed cash values part..anyone who care to expund more on this? The idea of paying it for 10 years makes it more attractive than smartstarter na may endowment pero longer ang paying period....any input wud be appreciated..salamat po.

@lee2ziyan. Merong document na kailangan mong eaccomplish sis. Proceed to the nearest SunLife Costumer Center and your friendly Costumer Service Representative will gladly assist you.

You can always change your agent, but that would depend na sa servicing agent if he/she will accept it.

@Bel_84, sis ano ba ang purpose mo of getting the plan? If you will start on assessing your personal goals and your budget I think you will easily derive into an informed decision na swak na swak.

The story behind Traditional Insurances is Saving. How much is your target goal? e.g. I want to have 10M right now, so no matter what happen, matsugi man ako bukas my family needs to have that 10M at kung humaba man ang buhay ko makukuha ko pa rin ang 10M plus the dividends. Since I dont have the 10M now, but i have 80K to save each year so I can arrive to my 10M after X years, I will use the expressway then. That's the difference of Insurance Companies and Banks.

Evaluate sis. How long will you comfortably pay for it? Short paying traditional plans attractive talaga kasi definite ang time. but if you caculate it as oppose to long paying plans, maliit lang naman ang difference nila.

sis, if you realize na you can no longer pay for it at  the age of 40 at nagigipit na talaga pero ayaw mo mabawasan yung cash value from the mutual fund, we can withdraw naman and terminate the policy na lang? parang mali kasi ata ako ng nakuhang policy, hindi ko naisip yung idea na if ever mawalan ako ng job (hwag naman sana), at hindi ko na mabayaran since lifetime nga siya.

Pwede naman ata sis pero dapat ata within 15 days after the day na sinend mo 'yung application mo. Anyway, better read the papers na pinrovide ni agent sa 'yo after maaprobahan 'yung policy. Nandoon lahat ng terms and conditions about the policy and I believe it should tell you kung possible 'yung cancellation and how it should work. I hope you still have it..

Question, do you have an option to select which bond 'yung magiging investment ng plan mo? For example flexilink, I want Equity Bonds instead of peso balance bond...  ::)

Mali ata ang word na ginamit mo. It should be FUNDS
At may equity fund at BOND Fund at balanced fund which
is a mixture of equity and bonds.

And yes, pwede kang mamili. ex, gusto mo Php X.XX sa

Another question:
pero at the age of 45 for example, pwede mo ba makuha yung nainvest ko at terminate the policy na lang.
