I went with Stylento as I did not get any replies from Gids.  Choose your suppliers well sissies, you will get the initial feel naman kahit during the first meeting.  I love Stylento and very easy to reach and replies to sms or email right away.  I love Gideons work so much too, I think we are just not meant to be and I believe every Bride deserves to be treated well even during preps and not just on their wedding day.  Happy Holidays!

triggerhappy natatawa ako sa post mo. Ganun din si Gids during our two meetings although he was not late. I think kaya siya na la-late kasi his secretary schedules all his Manila wedding in one day. Sometimes he meets like 6 clients, kaya pag chika chika pa si client number 2, late na siya for client 3.

I think Gids kasi is a crammer. I mean he is really gifted pero his burst of wonderful ideas come out when you're about 2 to a month away from the wedding day. If you are trusting enough, you can be his bride. I met him twice only. When he wanted to meet pa for the second time, i was like: what is there to talk about?! Kasi I already told him what I want eh. Like I said I dont like rose cacti, no southern californian feel. I trust my suppliers bigtime talaga. First meeting namin, he was on his laptop sometimes texting. Pero I did not mind, I too am a multi tasker. I can text, talk to you and watch tv all at the same time and I know details ha.

Second meeting wala na atang laptop ang lola mo pero mostly chika chika lang kami. Gulat ako when he discussed the couples backdrop with me. He went like:  oh I'll put this and it looks like lace lalalalalalala. Para oh he knows my taste na. So first meeting talaga he gets to know his client, their taste etc. He even asked for a picture of my gown para daw bagay the bouquet he will make for me.

Come wedding day, my photographers were like: oh have you seen your flowers?.. they are really pretty. Wala kasi akong care that day. Bridechilla mode na. After the wedding, i realized he even made headbands for my adult flower girls that matches my bouquet and their flower baskets, may lace lace whatever. So yes he does pay attention to details- hindi lang halata during meetings.

Wala pa naman akong nababalitaan na panget na output on the wedding day ni Gids. He is young and still new in the industry technically. I do hope he gets to adapt well to what the client requires of him professionally especially during meetings.

^^ I do trust him talaga..as in. Alam ko naman na he'll deliver, parang siguro masyado lang ako nagexpect nun. Anyway, excited nako ulit mameet si Gids, para naman mafinalize na everything. We met him 3 weeks before the wedding, so baka meet uli namin siya this january.

I think that is the concern for most us. I'm sure gids is talented, I've seen his works in FB.  But he needs to make us feel safe.  After all, it is pressure enough that this is a once in a lifetime experience.  Would you mind sending me a pm as to his rates vs the number of guests?  Just so that I would know how to haggle with him?

vain_kixie

What was your theme?  In fairness, we discussed the theme of the wedding naman and he was the one who said that i send him pegs.  I plan to set up an appointment with him after new year.  Pero girls, kindly send me naman his current rates so I can haggle.

^Hi sis, I’m not sure April and Karen Yu still do styling. Last time I heard they don’t do events anymore. I don’t know why.

Ako din naguguluhan na. I’m checking Gids and Teddy Manuel too! I’m also inquiring with Michael Ruiz, Luxe Parties, Henry Pascual and Zenas Pineda. Michael Ruiz was recommended by two of my suppliers na. Zenas and Henry naman have been in the industry for so long na and feeling ko hihimatayin ako sa quote nila haha. Lastly, Luxe Parties usually does really cute birthday parties, but I think lately they’re venturing into wedding styling na rin.

Ang damiiiiii. Good luck to us sis!

^ yup, april and karen yu stopped doing event styling more than a year ago pa.

tip ko na lang sayo sis is look at their past works. check their quote for you and make sure they use more flowers than props kasi the price is justifiable if there are more flowers since they purchase it just for your event. yung props, they have it na on hand or they can recycle.

add na din jo claraval to your list :)

I'm actually on a lookout for a newbie stylist in town that's yet to be discovered. Attended a baby shower and a friend of mine sort of practices styling for intimate gatherings. Sabi ko Konti pa ihihire ko na Siya hahahah! Here's our Setup for our 12pax baby shower. Complete with backdrop and some hanging garlands.

Just disregard the paper plates kase no household help the sponsor:)

talaga sis? thanks for mentioning this, natatakot din kasi ako baka way over our budget si Henry Pascual.. on top of my list na sya  ;D

I am reading not so good feedbacks kay Gideon kaya I am thinking of getting another stylist (previously sya talaga gusto ko) but now, I still consider him pero if I can get another stylist I will..

kaya na kaya ni Henry to work on a budget like 80k-100k?  :-\

i'm discussing with him styling for my wedding na intimate and with low-budget. he is nice. we haven't agreed yet how much but he listens to my ideas.

I inquired from Jo Claravall during the getting married wedding fair. I think his starting is 80k depending how detail intensive the theme will be. Pretty reasonable na. But still I'm not spending that much if my caterer is KByC :)
