Simply put, as per Chbosky's words, we accept the love we think we deserve. :)

^ I loved The Perks of Being a Wallflower. Now, I suddenly also remembered this: “Enjoy it. Because it's happening.” (In relation to what we're going through right now. Albeit too good to be true at times, let's zoom in on enjoying the moment and being grateful for every moment)

nice sis insanelypurpleprincess  :D

^ Thank you momentum. It appears that I spent too much time in my life loving, being loved, being a victim to love and so on, so feel na feel ko itong thread na to. I started quite young, so it's been quite a ride so far.

^Hey sis lesters_gal, there is a big difference between giving your all and expecting to receive exactly the same. Perhaps your mindset was, I shall give him my all, so in turn you expect him to give him his all as well... To me, it should be I shall give him my all because it is what I see fit for him and what comes back will be a reflection of what he sees fit for me. For all you know, he loved you in the way that he can, in the way that he knew how, but to you it didn't appear to be such because you had a different image of how and what love should be. Nonetheless, like was sis simang said, all will be well (in time) and that relationships do end for a reason. So, allow me to share a little something to you from Chbosky as well...
“Things change. And friends leave. Life doesn't stop for anybody.” (And boyfriends, fiances, wives, husbands, people in general leave)... And plus this... “This moment will just be another story someday.” For now, it is the cross you are carrying, but eventually, it will become part of history... it will shape you into who you will become in the future based on lessons learned, but at the end of the day, it is what it is.. a story. Life goes on. Choose to live for the best that is yet to come. You'll get there!

^ Of course! For sure you can survive this. And yeah, another lesson in love... If you do expect your guy or any guy to change simply because you're in a relationship then it's going to be a challenging life ahead. We don't decide to be with someone with hopes of changing them. We simply take them as they are... and should they change for the better then bonus na lang yun! :)

I learned that not all romantic relationships will last with love
it's really a decision.

Sometimes, you think that it's Karma when you fall victim to unrequited love... but is it really just, karma? Sometimes..  it ain't karma.. just really not meant to be.

You can't always get what you want. Learn to compromise.

People have different languages of love especially men. Find out what his language of love is and you'll then know you are loved. :)

The best person for you is the one who makes you the best you.

The world is filled with great people, some of which will be right for you at certain times in your life, but I've learned that one of the most important things to know about love is that the right person for you is the one who makes you better. Someone once told me to think not about what the other person is or does, but how that person makes me feel and act. When you look at who you have become in someone else's presence, you learn a great deal about your relationship with that person. If, when you're around that person, you become better, happier, more like yourself, then that's the person for you. If you want to know one of the greatest things I've learned about love, it's this: if someone loves you with his whole heart and soul, he will make you a better person simply by being himself.

I'm also gonna quote that famous line from the perks, "We accept the love we think we deserve." If you know that you deserve better you can walk away when you're being treated like sh*t.

Love involves some sacrifice, but it shouldn't take away your dignity.

Be open to communication. Talk about what your expectations are. If there's something different or nagtatampo ka about something it's best to tell your partner about it.

Forgive and let go. Give yourself time to heal from heartbreak and be able to trust somebody completely again. Don't place your mistrust on someone who hasn't done you any harm.

When you are by any means wronged in the name of love... it's not enough that you forgive the person who wronged you... don't forget to also forgive yourself for letting your guard down. Only by then can you fully say that you're ready to love again.

Love isn't born. It is made -- everyday, over and over.

Love goes hand in hand with patience, understanding, humility, selflessness, trust, respect, acceptance, and lots of work.

And loving doesn't mean losing your own individuality and identity in the process.

Not sure if I have shared this before, but because it does apply very much to my life right at this very moment, allow me...

“Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage.”

^ It may seem like it doesn't for a time (sometimes even for a very long time), but really, it does! So you gotta make that decision for yourself on how you'd like to live your life.
---
Time Between Relationships is just as Valuable as being in a Relationship. We all know someone who floats from partner to partner, relationship to relationship (and even envy them sometimes or we kinda wonder how they do that). However, this kind of behavior is not something to covet. Truthfully, time between relationships is just as important to your personal growth as time spent in relationships. By taking time after a breakup to heal, learn your lessons, and get to know the new you that’s emerging as a result of those life experiences, you give yourself the opportunity to grow as an individual. Plus, you discover your own resilience, something you’d never experience if you floated from partner to partner (speaking from personal experience as there was a phase in my life that I was floating around and jumping in and out of different relationships with different people). It’s these life lessons that ultimately make you a better person and eventually a better partner in your next relationship. Don’t cheat yourself out of valuable ME time between breakups. You’ll miss out on so much! So there you have it folks... This is dedicated all my friends who are currently in "fresh" break up stages of their lives.
