A person who can make you laugh so hard you cry is priceless.

There are so many amazing aspects of being in love, but having someone who makes you laugh so hard that you cry is one of the best features in my opinion. Something about laughing incredibly hard is so satisfying, such a great release and I've learned that there is nothing quite like having a person around that can make you laugh and laugh and laugh. A day without laughter, I've read, is a waste of a day and I couldn't agree with that more. I've been so fortunate to have found love and I'm even more fortunate to have found love with someone who can crack me up to the point that I find myself just thinking about what he said and laughing just as hard at the memory of it.

^ Not necessarily a 'joker' per se, but more of someone who amuses you so much, you laugh till tears start spilling out of your eyes. Can't fight it!

Some Relationships are Temporary (sad, but true... I should know!)

When you acknowledge that some relationships are temporary, you learn to stop blaming yourself for what you perceive as relationship failures, and instead see them for what they are – valuable life lessons. With the benefit of hindsight, it’s probably clear that the relationships that ended were with partners who weren’t your perfect match.

Maybe your personalities didn’t mesh, your goals and future vision were not aligned, or your priorities conflicted. As painful as these breakups can be, they happen for a reason. Not only that, but if you’re totally honest with yourself, you’ll admit that you’re much better off as a result of the relationship and breakup than you would have been had you never experienced the love and loss in the first place.

Love requires effort, but it should never seem too hard.

Like most who have been in love, I know that love is hard work. It starts off easy and carefree until reality sets in and then there you find that there are just two people who are alike in some ways and different in others and who have to find ways to interact with and love one another in spite of their differences. Love is work. But, I've learned, the work you have to do for the one you love shouldn't be a complete drain on you, making you question or wonder if all of the stress and strain is worth it. No, the kind of work you do for love should come naturally and should be worth it. When I look back at the work I've put into my current relationship, I don't begrudge any of it for a second because I believe that any effort I've put in has been returned to me. Love will be hard, but it should never be too hard. I've discovered that, if you're hurt more than you're happy, you're not with the right one.

Three Harsh Truths About Love

1. Love does not equal compatibility. Just because you fall in love with someone doesn’t necessarily mean they’re a good partner for you to be with over the long term. Love is an emotional process; compatibility is a logical process. And the two don’t bleed into one another very well.

2. Love does not solve your relationship problems. While love may make you feel better about your relationship problems, it doesn’t actually solve any of your relationship problems. The roller coaster of emotions can be intoxicating, each high feeling even more important and more valid than the one before, but unless there’s a stable and practical foundation beneath your feet, that rising tide of emotion will eventually come and wash it all away.

3. Love is not always worth sacrificing yourself. One of the defining characteristics of loving someone is that you are able to think outside of yourself and your own needs to help care for another person and their needs as well.

In loving relationships, it’s normal for both people to occasionally sacrifice their own desires, their own needs, and their own time for one another. I would argue that this is normal and healthy and a big part of what makes a relationship so great.

But when it comes to sacrificing one’s self-respect, one’s dignity, one’s physical body, one’s ambitions and life purpose, just to be with someone, then that same love becomes problematic. A loving relationship is supposed to supplement our individual identity, not damage it or replace it. If we find ourselves in situations where we’re tolerating disrespectful or abusive behavior, then that’s essentially what we’re doing: we’re allowing our love to consume us and negate us, and if we’re not careful, it will leave us as a shell of the person we once were.

^ Awww.. boils down to many experiences, I guess? In my case, I hope that everyone sees the dimensions of love from another person's perspective and draw realization from there - despite what they say about experience being the best Teacher... well, not everyone is built the same way so I do fear that others will self destruct when faced with the harsh realities of love, loving, being in love and being loved altogether. Truly, I say that I wasn't always the person I am now.. took a lot for me to be able to say those things.. but I will always be thankful for these lessons!

Lesson learned from others' experience:  People who play with fire get burned, sooner or later.
Lesson am learning now:  Hard to resist an ex from a younger time.
But as my Lola says:  Smart people learn from their mistakes. But smarter people learn from others' mistakes.
So, resist, resist, resist.

Forgive. But never ever forget how you felt because it indeed taught you a lot.

There really is a moment when you just know.
The moment I met him there was no spark. It was years ago and we were both in completely different places in our lives. Despite that lack of initial spark, neither one of us ever forgot the other and, when I met him again for the second time, I swear my heart stopped beating for just a second. I knew something was different about him, important and essential to the very core of my being, but I didn't know then what it was. I've been in love before but, with him, it has always been different. I always thought the "you just know" line was a b******t excuse for people who couldn't really remember why they'd fallen in love, but now I believe it with my whole heart. When you know, you know.

^ Please don't... enough na yung isa lang sa atin ang sente, emo and hormonal at a time. Because supportive ka, my next piece is dedicated to you because I know that you believe in this, too!!!

You may have heard this love-related cliche before, too, I'm sure, but to me it is factual so I stand by it, it's true. If you expect to be treated badly and if you treat yourself badly, you will find someone who will treat you just the way you think you deserve to be treated. But, on the flip-side, if you believe that you should be treated with the utmost respect and decency and if you believe you deserve to be loved in a way that is pretty damn close to magical (even in a too good to be true kind of way), then believe me, that's the love you'll receive. Whether or not you want to buy into the whole Law of Attraction concept, I can tell you that I've learned that the love you expect to get is the love you will get. So, whether you're looking for love or you're already in a relationship, remember to aim high when it comes to the love you think you deserve.
