Well, most Korean films naman are tear-jerkers. Emotional sadists yata ang Korean screenwriters ... Kidding! This one deals with forgiving and FORGETTING ... and never forgetting. May rare Alzheimer’s kasi yung girl, but her husband’s love endured. We can only keep “erasers” in our head, never in our hearts Oh eto, hagulhol-inducing quote:

Su-jin: I’ll forget everything soon. I won’t know why you’re with me. You’ll be gone from my mind. And so will I. You understand? As my memory disappears, my soul will too. I’m scared.

If you notice all of these share the common theme of memory and forget. 50 First Dates lang ang naiiba in a sense that this theme was projected with comedy. Maybe because the most painful part of love is either in remembering, forgetting or being forgotten. When a memory is gone, so is the soul, they say. But on the other hand, your tears will shed for as long you remember being / having loved.
