^IMHO, I guess so.  But it was one of the "in demand".  I was renewed just this month.

Based sa mga nakikita ko sa jobsites, SAP, JAVA, Cobol,  C++, Web Developer ang madami.

^Minsan kasi sis ang hanap nila is 3 years or more sa field.  I am also in IT pero sa awa ng Diyos, narenew ako at kukunin ko within the week yung Epass ko.

The reason I indicated the years of experience is because my sister went here last March.  Nagstay sya for one month at halos araw araw naman ang interview.  Yun nga lang kahit madami syang interview, laging we'll give you a call or they will interview others ang sinasabi.  Dahil 2 years pa lang sya sa field nya.  Sa sobrang higpit ng MOM ngayon, kahit maipasa ka ng employers mo, si MOM ang mismong mag dedecline ng application. 

Kaya sa mga may balak na magtry dito sa SG, ang maisusuggest ko is :

1. Make sure you have enough experience (3 or more).  Dahil priority nila ang newly grad dito kung less experience din lang hanap nila.
2. If your expertise is common for instance accountant, mahihirapan ka ng tuluyan dahil maraming accountants dito kung years of experience lang ang hanap nila.
3.  Make sure your expertise is rare.

sa dami na kaseng foreigners dito...maraming singaporeans na nagrereklamo na inaagawan natin sila ng trabaho so MOM (Ministry of Manpower) increase the salary of S Pass. Date $1,800 pero ngayon yata dapat $2,200 ang minimum na and dapat malaki yung company na magsposponsor sayo para yung chances na mareject ng pass is minimal.
Nowadays MOM told all the companies na unahin muna ang mga Singaporeans and kung wala na talaga then can give to foreigners.
Yung mga managers nga sa hotel and F&B na papauwe eh.
Dapat talaga yung expertise mo yung rare na they will reason out na ikaw lang makakagawa nun.
Actually now its not a good time to job hunt sa Sg and sorry to say I really don't recommend it now because of all these strict laws. Pero if you are willing parin then by all means go ahead. Just prepare to spend a lot and please huwag po tayong magpabayad sa mga agency because illegal yun and the working hours is terrible. My friend paid like 3 to 4 thousand yata then he works 12 hours a day, everyday, walang fix off and sometimes no off pa. as in no life na. so please huwag po nating patulan yang mga agency na yan para kung walang magbabayad then mawawalan din sila ng business.

may chances ba makahanap if ang experience mo eh sa BPO? ano kayang swak sa ganitong experience?

^Sis, as explained, if your expertise is not rare and does not fall in the "in demand" list of MoM (Ministry of Manpower) you will have difficulty finding work in SG.

^thank you sis.. eto sinilip ko na ang MOM site for "in demand jobs" sa SG.

yung ex-officemate ko.. sinuwerte din kasi madali siya nakahanap ng work. nagtake siya ng refresher course muna dito sa pinas Autocad then saka nagpunta ng SG, may relatives siya don and luckily, nakahanap siya ng work.

I have friends na pupunta ng SG din this coming june. Hopefully, makahanap din sila. We are all came from BPO. Sana makahanap agad din sila.

Sorry sis ha.  If your hubby is really determined, he can use his skills to look for openings via google.  I too and my other friends are into IT in Singapore.  We just rely on doing research via the internet.  Passed resumes to different job engines.  Just tell your husband to allot one night to update his resume and pass around.

mga sis na nagwowotk sa SG kumusta po monthly gastos jan? food, apartment, transpo,kuryente, tubig etc? sabi kasi ng friend ko na nasa sg yung apartment nalang daw $450 na daw kinompute ko mga nasabi nyang gastos umabot ng 700$ yung salary offer lang na nakita ko eh 900$ lang. kubg ganun din lang kalaki ang gastos dibale nalang. totoo po ba yun mga sis? paano po budget nyo jan? thanks.

I was just wondering kung meron ba kayong mga kakilala na nasa Human Resources na department or kung madali ba makapasok sa ganung area lalo kung fresh grad ka. I'm three sems away from getting my degree at medyo matanda na rin ako. Hehe. 29 na ko by that time.

Factor ba ang age sa mga jobs sa SG? I know a year and a half eh medyo mahaba pa and a lot can happen pero I really want to work in SG and ma practice or ma apply ko yung tinapos ko which is BS Psychology, just in case..

^HR ang hanap kong work nung bago ako. But sadly, walang interview kahit isa!  I think its because foreigner ako at walang experience sa hr (my first job was in a call center).

I don't think age will be an issue, 29 is quite young. Minsan kanya kanyang swerte lang yan. But IMO, it would be best, regardless of what industry one is interested in, to earn some experience before coming here. Dun kasi minsan nagkakatalo, lalo na ngayon na mahigpit na ang government sa pag-hire ng foreigners. Kung fresh grad ka at no experience, mahirap makipag-compete sa mga local. The government would rather give the job to a fresh grad who is a Singaporean.

update lang ako. For 78 days in SG, wala akong nakuhang work. Pero syempre dapat laging may Plan B. 2 weeks before maexpired ang SVP ko, nagpasa na ako ng resume sa Pinas. Swerte naman, may mga tumawag din at interviews over the phone. Kaya pag uwi ko, contract signing na. Siguro wrong timing din ang pagpunta ko pero hindi pa rin ako pinabayaan ni Bro. Hehe!

My cousin tried her luck in SG and was hired in the HR department of Philips. Swerte talaga sya kasi a few days before her passport expired, she was called up for an interview.  And what's more, regular employee sya; hindi contractual. She's been sent to India and Netherlands (soon) for training.  So ayun, swertihan din talaga.

She was working for several companies for almost 4-5 years before she applied in SG; mostly HR-related ang work nya. I think her experience played a factor din because she has basic knowledge in SAP.

^^Aww.  Di bale sis.  God has better plans.  Talagang mahigpit na rin sila kahit sa IT particularly sa line of work ko (SAP).  Di bale sis, pag nakaluwag na dito sa SG saka ka nlang bumalik to apply. 

OT but, marami na ring MNC ang umaalma dahil sa higpit ng pagkuha ng foreign workers.  For one, vestas has moved their office in Manila.  The others are morgan stanley, carrefour, etc.   I guess, if SG will continue with this trend, foreign companies have no choice but to put their office in other countries like, erm Manila where Fort bonifacio is attracting foreign investors.
