I'm here for 4 daysna , with my husband..Tourist visa lang din and ngayon hanap ng work. I am just afraid na hindi makahanap kasi 2 years lang tinapos ko tapos yung work experience ko lang english tutor for 3 years..any chance kaya?

i think even if there is an employer who will hire you sis, magkakaproblema ka sa approval ng pass coz 2 years lang yung college education mo.  kasi yung iba nga na 4+years nag college, they still get their pass rejected here..

^^ i think legit naman yun recruitment agency na tumawag sayo sis.. but personally.. hindi ako kakagat sa $2000sgd per month lang na salary.. plus agency fee pa.. that amount is not worth much here sa taas ng cost of living dito.. but that's just my opinion ha..

that's what i'm thinking. kakahiya man ipost dito ang salary, right now i'm earning 39K graveyard shift nga lang. so parang di nga worth it un $2000 sa SG.

^yung mga maayos na agency worth of 1 month salary lang ang hinihingi na placement fee. 4k is too much.

try mo sis mag apply thru jobsdb, jobstreet, jobs central muna at yung mga sa direct company. at tsaka 39k is not bad na sweldo sa pinas

korek 39k is not bad sa pinas. Actually your lucky kasi mataas ang salary mo. Almost 2-3 years experience yan sa it field.

Yung mga nasa engineering field, nursing ano pa ba? sila yung mas magandang magabroad kasi halos basic pay ang mga sweldo nila.

How much ang cost of living sa sg pala? nasa 30-60k diba?

ok naman salary ko sana, considering nasa province pa ko. kaya lang breadwinner kasi ko kaya kulang saka ayoko na rin mag-night shift.

^ better kung direct hire ka, mas makakapag negotiate ka pa ng salary mo sa employer lalo na 7years ang experience mo. Sakin lang, i don't think its worth it to go through an agency when you can look for a job on your own naman. Sayang ang pambayad sa agency.

According to my friend who works there: 30k too small, 60k comfortable.

Entry level salary for their graduates (top universities aka NUS, NTU etc) is SGD3000 so that's around 90k.

Just wondering, is it possible to get hired agad sa Sg straight from university (in the Philippines)? Super liit ba ng chance? Better ba if mag work muna dito then apply sa Sg?

When my employer applied for my E-Pass,  they asked for the english diploma and proofs which prove I have 9 years of experience in my field.  Take note that Singapore gets EXPERIENCED foreign workers due to very scarce experienced manpower.  If they will be getting newly grads, sa mga bagong graduates from SG schools sila kukuha.

Kindly read and research in ministry of manpower website.  Kumpleto sya sa info on what they usually hire.  Pari mga in demand na skills for a foreign worker andun.

I have two friend who are bank trader and accountant who tried their luck in SG.  Both have more than 3 years in their fields.  Sadly, after two months (single visa extension), umuwi na sila dahil major offense ang overstaying in SG.

My cousin who has 2 years experience as construction engineer in one of the best construction firm here in Manila, hindi rin pinalad.

30K is more than enough kung magtitipid ka pa kahit 25K kasya pa din unless you want to rent your own room in a condo unit or go to clarke quay every weekend para gumimik and you like to roam around the city go shopping every Saturday and Sunday then 60K will really be your comfortable budget 

sa 30K computation sinama ko na room sharing rent, PUB, phone bill, transportation at food allowance. tatlo kami sa Master's Bedroom (w/ Bathroom Room) kaya medyo mababa yung room rent, comfortable pa din naman kami we have our own bed, cabinet and have a computer table each. unless di ka sanay na may kasama ka sa room and you want to rent your own room then kulang yung 30K. ang Common Room dito usually costs 600SGD to 800SGD sa mga HDB Units at sa Condo Units SGD1000+

^Sis, buti pumayag ang agent nyo na 3 kayo s master's bedroom.  Bawal pag more than 6 tenants ang isang 3 room unit:

If I may share my cost of living.

1.  Every sweldo, I prepay S$100 sa E-link ko to cover all transportation (taxi included).  Most of the time, may natitirang S$20 at the end of the month.
2.  My rent for my common room S$950.  My place is an HDB (not condo, within the city and 1 min to MRT station)
3.  My allowance for food is S$5 every weekdays per meal. 

So S$5 x 40 meals in a month = S$200.  My weekdays and friday is splurge day.

So if only for the (1) rent, (2), meals, (3) transpo:

100  = transpo
950  = rent (common room within the city)
200  = food (weekdays)
300  = luho (if matipid ka and no shopping)

S$1,550.  Excess of this is your savings. 

If one is earning around S$3000 or less, better rent a bed space or room sharing.

^Sis, add ko lang.  30K in Phils can be earned.  Pero dito sa SG, 30k is not enough and will not give you any savings.  Tama ang friend mo na 30k is too small here in SG because of the cost of living.  Your hawker food is around S$3 a meal.  Cheapest is already $2.50.  Then, magbabayad ka pa ng rent (one month deposit kung first time).  In Phils, you can live comfortably in 30k pero dito sa SG I doubt.

^solo kasi yung isa sa common room sis nawalan ng work yung asawa nya but if ever bumalik misis nya  ang option is magdadagdag na lang ng SGD100 sa rent namin sa whole unit.. so pasok pa din sa banga yung nasa contract namin na anim lang kami 

sis i think she meant the COL only and not salary.. kahit ako naman kung 30K lang salary wag na lang.

Ngayon ko lang din pala nabasa na bawal ang tourist passes.  So ingat sa mga nagapply dito sa SG baka mahuli ng agent ng housing nyo na tourist kayo.

^Yes sis.  Malapit sya sa workplace ko.  4 MRT station away.  Eh nakatira ako sa mismong MRT kaya madali lang. 

Kasi nagcompare ako.  Pag around non City area (mga woodlands, ang mo kio, nasa 750 - 800.  Eh konti lang idadagdag ko, within city na ako.  Jogging distance sa clarke quay and marina bay sands.
