i am planning to go in SG and try my swerte. hehe
i am currently working here in Phil. in one of the 3 leading Broadcasting Network..
been working for almost 9 years now pero medyo feel i need to take a new path..

^Additional information will help.

IMO, mahigpit na ang MOM dito nag pag issue ng E-pass.  My cousin who was a construction engineer na pumasa ng board, hindi nakakuha ng work.  My friend who was an accountant, hindi rin pinalad, pati yung isa na trader sa banko, hindi rin nakakuha. 

If you have enough resources, you can stay here for a month (tourist visa pass) but you have to have more or less about SGD2,000 (PHP70,000) just to get by.

Pero swertihan din.  A lot of locals are complaining kasi dumarami na ang foreign workers.  Although mas preferred ng companies ang foreign workers kesa local (kasi mga tamad), hindi naman nakakapasa sa government. 

Marami na rin ang nadedeny ng renewal ng Permanent Residency.  Kahit na matagal na dito, at renewal lang, nadedeny pa rin. 

So its really all about taking risk if you are planning to look for a job here.

As Xtine have mentioned mahigpit ang MOM, lakasan ng loob.
Tip, plan to go after CNY. Mas marami opening kasi tapos na bigayan ng bonus at naglilipatan na ang mga employees

If you're not into Food and Beverage (waitress, cashier) baka pahirapan.  I have accountant friend, trader.  Walang nakuhang work.  Pero lakasan lang din ng loob.

Accdg din sa friend ko, super higpit daw ng MOM ngayon. Pero by next year, feel niya luluwagan daw ng gov't. kasi marami na nagrereklamo na companies kasi kulang na ng workforce. Plan din kasi namin ni h2b na maghanap ng work sa SG. Kaya sana okay an next year.

mas maganda talaga pag may headhunter na kukuha sayo. sure employment wag lang illegal recruiter yan. anyway thanks mga sis sa info. saka na lang pag may available na talaga baka matengga lang din ako dun mauwi lang sa bakasyon ang pagpunta ko dun hehe

Headhunter is also not a sure way as its MoM who is restricting the issuance of E-pass, S-pass.  Example, for accountants, even if there are openings here in SG, they will prefer getting a local or PR as mandated by the government. 

Also, to check if your job qualifications are in demand, try to look at Jobstreet pag lagi nakalagay na PR, Local preferred.  alam na!

^^^ I don't think magluluwag ang MOM anytime soon. If anything, pahigpit sila ng pahigpit. Now, there's even talk on those who are holding PR status for too long. Gusto yata nila after certain number of years, wag na renew PR or siguro magchange citizenship na. Pero sa ngayon, wala pa naman plans ng paghigpit sa PR's. Sa pagapply, luck really still comes into play. Ako, sinwerte lang talaga ako na may tumanggap sakin, ang lalayo ng experience ko sa inapplyan ko.

I'm here for 4 daysna , with my husband..Tourist visa lang din and ngayon hanap ng work. I am just afraid na hindi makahanap kasi 2 years lang tinapos ko tapos yung work experience ko lang english tutor for 3 years..any chance kaya?

^ sis, chance is pretty slim. Dapat before you left pinas, nagpass ka na ng resume sa mga online job sites. I know a lot of people who went there for vacation, stayed for more than 2 months nagbabakasakaling makahanap ng work pero walang makuha. Not because they were not qualified, mas prioritiy kase to employ locals, kaya the slots for foreigners talents lumiliit.

medyo mahirap ngayon ang job market sa singapore. i lost my job and im back to jobhunting ulit. 1 1/2 months nako nag apply pero wala pa akong maayos na interview so far.

although may mga nakakakuha pa din talaga ng work. yung classmate ko ng HS she just got work in changi pero wala talagang syang solid work experience. swerte nya at yung isa ko pang kakilala accounts executive naman nakuha nyang work.

swertihan din talaga at tyaga sa pag-aaply at sympre positive attitude.

Have a friend who came home in PH last week.  She stayed in SG for a month, trying her luck.  OK naman ang work experience nya; over 10 years na ang experience and she even worked as an accountant na nga in Dubai.  Ayun, di sya nakakakuha ng work kahit na everyday sya nag-aapply.

Now on the other hand, my cousin is really lucky.  She has experience in HR, mga 3 years or so pa lang.  Minimal background in SAP for HR purposes (as in encodinglang).  She stayed in SG for 2 months.  Just when her passport was about to expire (as well as the # of allowed days in SG), bigla syang tinawagan ng Philipps. Ayun, she was hired in the HR dept.  Regular yun ha, hindi contractual. May mga family leave pa na allowed.

hi mga sis. i have no idea about applying in singapore. i've read some of the pages here  and in pinoysg but i'm not yet done.

bigla kong napabasa dito kasi i applied online sa job-q.com actually nun lang ako nag-register sa website na yun. relevant naman un experience ko sa pinas. 7 yrs na ko working sa supply chain and yun din naman in-apply-an kong positon. tinawagan ako ng agency in singapore. then they emailed me if i am willing to pay the processing fee of $4500 which is payable daw once working visa is approved pag nasa singapore na. ok na sana sa tingin ko kaya lang ganun ba talaga kalaki un processing fee? considering the salary offer is $2000.

i checked the recruitment agency kung registered sa MOM, registered naman and license no. matches naman dun sa nasa MOM. i really have no idea... wala rin kasi kong close friends working in singapore.
