recently may sister kame sa church na nagka cancer. she just transferred to a new job so wala pa syang medical insurance and parang nasa retail sya so hindi kalakihan ang sweldo. kame nag-alaga sa kanya sa hospital because walang kamag-anak na kayang bumili ng roundtrip ticket from PH to SG. Dito sa SG sabi ng doctor iuwe na raw naming sya. Pero wala talaga syang pera so nag-ambag kameng lahat para mabilan sya ng ticket and sinabay sya nung isang sister namin na pauwe na rin sa pinas. so now atleast nandun na sya sa family nya.

you'll never know talaga if these things happen. pero in a brighter side naman my brother will be having a knee surgery next week that will cost him sgd13k but good thing his medical insurance can cover this. so wala syang babayarin and may 60 days hospital leave pa sya. so after operation uuwe syang pinas to recover and magpatheraphy.

kame ng asawa ko may insurance kame dito sa sg and free na yung anak namin basta sa government hospital sya. eh yung government hospital ditto ok na eh like KK etc

about investments naman....wala kame nun sa pinas because we believe sgd is stronger and ditto narin kame for 8 years so ditto kame nag-invest.

sa salary naman...updated naman ang google specially yung mga jobsdb, jobstreet etc
kung single ako ditto sa sg with 2k salary puede na yun. kayang mabuhay. tipid lang ng konti pero kaya parin gumimick etc

Mga sisses ko dito sa SG, I have a question.  I have a flight via PAL ng 7:30PM this friday, pero I can only get out of the office by 5:30PM.

I work within Tampines area which is IBM (via bus 27 to airport).   But if bus 27 will further delay me, I might get a taxi which can be impossible since friday sha. I will be bringing my luggage to office para direcho na. 

My question is, if I arrive in changi by 6:30PM (one hour before the flight), tanggapin pa kaya ako sa check in? or maiiwanan na ako ng plane?

^^Puwede ka din mag advance booking sa taxi. Saw this one too sa website ng PAL:

Present your home-printed boarding pass and a valid ID at the airport baggage drop counter and document check counter no later than 45 minutes prior the published departure time.

Boarding Gates close 10 minutes before departure time. Passengers may not be accepted for travel after gates close.

Philippine Airlines reserves the right to offload passengers for failure to arrive at the baggage drop/document check counter or boarding gate on time.

^^Ooohh sis yapee, that's scary.  Sige, will try that advance booking of taxi.  I just hope dumating ang taxi.  Kasi the entrance of the office (main lobby) is super layo to the back where the bus stop of bus 27 is.  Thanks!

Hubby and I are considering SG and he is currently looking into the available jobs for foreigners there. he is a geophysicist in the oil/gas industry. usually ba, if he gets hired, is he hired as an expat? and do companies usually sponsor his working visa as well as the family's to relocate in SG?

^depending on the offer.  On our case (IT consultants), we will be offered one way ticket to SG, one week free boarding until you find a place to stay and of course the usual employment package.

Depende talaga, its same as other countries, if they really want you, you can demand even if its more than enough.

^^same case with xtine, I am also from IT industry and was given plane ticket to SG when I was hired in Manila. They also shoulder the expense for the visa application.

I have a pinoy family friend who is an engineer and was given a relocation package from Malaysia to SG, kasama ang buong family. Included din sa relocation package ang shipping para madala nila lahat ng stuff nila from Malaysia.

^You have to have a VERY good bargaining skill or a very in demand skillset.

^^ tama in demand ang skill set. depends din sa benefit ng company. usually if it is MNC it's really part of the deal. The amount how big or small, hindi rin pare pareho. some were just given cash, big amount, thats all. ang iba naman, pays for the 1st 1-2 months of hotel accomodation, a little cash and then after that you should be good on your own.

I was given a relocation package when I moved to SG.

Have you looked at the job demand in Brunei? I have a friend who works in the oil/gas industry and they're being paid a good amount, plus free accommodation.
For those who have families daw, even the school and medical expenses are being paid by the company.

Yun nga lang, it's a small country and there's not much to do around, but you can travel in Malaysia naman
