Eczema/Skin Asthma: What Products Do You Use?

Mometasone ang generic name. I was prescribed the brand Momate a few years ago. Super mild for me ito and not that expensive.

Physiogel! Anlaki ng pasasalamat ko sa products nila. Nagkaroon kasi ako ng eczema sa underye area, tapos nagspread siya hanggang halos nacover niya yung cheek ko, tapos lumipat pa sa kabilang undereye. Ang hapdi tapos red at ang katikati.. Mga 2-3 months din ata yun. Ang dami kong sinubukan at iniba.. Nagpalit ako ng sabon, gumamit ng creams mula sa pharmacy, nagpalit ng moisturizer.. Tapos sinubukan ko mag Physiogel, kasi naalala ko yung ad na nakita ko sa magazine na pwede rin siya sa eczema. Gumamit ako nung Physiogel cleanser at cream. Nung una sachets lang binibili ko, pero ang bilis kasi ng effect sakin. Noticeable talaga na hindi na masyadong inflamed after ome day, tapos ang laki na ng improvement after 3 days.. Hindi na bumalik eczema ko simula nung gumamit ako. After nun, lagi ko nang binbili yung full size products. I tried the cleanser, cream, lotion (kahit sa face pwede), at AI cream, gusto ko silang lahat, Tapos medyo matagal na akong di gumamit ng Physiogel kasi nagtry ako ng ibang cleansers at moisturizers, pero hindi parin bumabalik yung eczema.. Ngayon lang uli ako gumamit kasi gusto ko lang ng mas moisturizing na cleanser.

^ UPDATE: Effective sa akin ang clobetasol cream. Ok na. Nawala yung eczema flare-up. Pero nag-iwan naman ng scar. Huhuhu. May alam ba kayo na pwede makapaglighten ng scar? Please.

I use the following for my skin asthma:

During flare-ups
Clobetasol Lotion
Clobetasol Cream/Betamethasone with Gentamycin cream - depende kung anong available
Oatmeal Colloidal Soap
Milk Honey Wash

For maintenance
Goat's Milk Lotion
Oatmeal with Goat's Milk Soap

Next time, I'll try that mometasone. Check ko if masmabilis magrespond sa akin.

Ang lala ng flare up ko the past few years, ang dami ko natry.. I think nakahelp sakin, cetaphil panligo, or tea tree soap na i buy sa atc, and then physiogel lotion after.. Pero kasi before my blisters which are nummular (coin shaped that looked like ringworm) pag hindi ko lagyan ng gamot, hindi sya talaga mawala or palaki ng palaki, super effective yung dermovate (cream/ointment) for me.. The bilog brown scars eventually nawala na.. Ngayon wala na ko, paminsan minsan na lang kinakati skin ko, saka sugat unlike before jusko every night tagal ng seremonyas ko, kakaapply gamot at pangcover sa buong legs at mga siko and hips ko hehe kaya hindi na rin ako gumagamit nyan, dove or j&j na and no lotion, i dont like the feeling kasi.

hi! who has this.. i went to the doctor the other month and sabi my eczema is caused by stressed.. we don't have any family history naman of eczema din..napapansin ko din kasi pag sobrang init lumalabas din siya..

what are your rituals to lessen this ? what medications do you take? etc, etc..

My 5 yr old daughter may eczema/atopic dermatitis since birth. At sa lahat ng na try ko products ang pinaka effective ay aveeno anti itch lotion, oilatum bar soap or dove (green) sensitive bar. Avoid also eating malalansa kasi it will flare up the allergy. Drink lots of water para ma hydrate yung skin. And also avoid too much scrubing your skib when taking a bath kasi nawawala yung natural moisture ng skin nyo.

^how expensive is aveeno?
Dove sensitive soap and physiogel AI lotion lang ang kasundo ko. I tried using pure shea butter as lotion but im not comfortable kasi hindi ako naka AC. What do you mean malalansa? Like fish? I stopped eating meats (chicken,beef,pork) and processed food and somehow parang it help lessen my skin asthma so puo fish and veggies lang ako

Iba ibang klase kasi ang aveeno mostly nag range from 600-1000 ang lotion. Ako dati nag papabili pa sa tita ko from states pero ngayon meron na sa malls pero i bought mine sa s&r kasi nag buy 1 take 1 sila ng aveeno mas nakamura ako. Tried and tested na kasi pag nakakakain ng malalansa anak ko talagang nag flare up yung allergy, like egg, bagoong, chicken esp chicken skin. Yan din sabi ng derma at allergologist nya. Mas magastos pag hindi sumunod eh, so far nag lessen na yung pag flare up ang mahirap kung pano mag lighten yung skin sa mga marks na iniwan ng allergy.

^i'll try nga aveeno. Yes yun din problem ko sa likod ng siko ko. Maitim kasi yung skin na nagheal after ma-aggravate. Ang pangit lang tingnan kasi parang may libag na di nahihilod hehe. Eh di nga pwedeng gumamit ng whitening soap so i dont know pano babalik sa color or kahit ma-even out lang

I have suffered from eczema all my life. Sometimes it's just a small patch, sometimes it's so bad it's all over... I have tried a lot of medications, been to many dermatologists... It's not easy.
Over the years, I learned that the secret to preventing flare ups is to stay moisturized. So moisturize, moisturize, moisture! Also, I try to stay away from prescription medication unless really necessary. I always have cornstarch and lubriderm lotion ( or cerave lotion) on hand. It's my lifesaver. I also recently discovered the wonders of apple cider vinegar. It doesn't smell nice but it does the trick

hi sis. hanap ka ng organic. ang gamit ko is parang melon-based, hehe. di ko maalala yung brand kasi wala ako sa place ko ngayon. nabili ko sa Rustan's Supermarket sa Greenbelt 1.

i tried using VMV's Essence body wash and VMV's Grandma Minnie Body Wash sort of 2-3 years ago. Paired it with VMV's grandmas lotion. dun talaga sobra significant nang improvement ng skin ko. Like yung bumps sa thighs, arms, shoulder and back nawala. Pero since they're not for whitening may mga naiwang scars. I happened to chance upon b&w ultima (the old version that was already phased out) for trial lang sana, pero since i did not break out, tinuloy tuloy ko na.  The only mistake i did was after ko gamitin yung regimen na yun hindi parin ako nakuntento, so i switched soaps, whitening soaps to be exact. Too bad sobrang naka dry sya kaya bumalik na naman ulit flare ups ko grabe and its so much worse this time. Wrong move talaga, lesson learned. and now im back to square one.

may pamangkin ako na nadiagnose ng eczema,,human heart nature baby wash,human heart nature baby lotion and human heart nature baby nappy cream ang prescribe ng pedia consultant,para makamura daw....so far gumaling naman skin ng pamanggkin ko,,watch out lang din sa food and sa pets,,kasi kung hindi daw gumaling mag steroid na ....

@christian321, nacheck ko na brand ng dishwashing liquid ko, Bio (manufactured by Good Maid) available at Rustan's Supermarket at Greenbelt 1. Peach variant pala siya, hindi melon, hehe.

Tapos kanina nasa Waltermart Supermarket sa Makati ako. I saw Palmolive pure+clear dishwashing liquid, hypoallergenic siya so i bought it to try out pagkaubos ng Bio ko. Balitaan ko kayo after a few months kung ok, hehe.

May eczema stopped na but nangitim naman yung skin ko dahil sa tapang ng ointment na ginamit ko. Anong gamit nyo para bumalik sa tamang skin color? makakatulong ba kung i-exfoliate? gano kadalas dapat mag exfoliate? Thanks in advance!

The fingertip of my thumb started to peel off about two weeks ago. After mag-peel, akala ko okay na since nagkakaroon na ulit ng new layer of skin. But I noticed na yung new layer of skin is rough/hard, so nagppeel pa rin siya. Linalagyan ko ng canesten twice a day pero mukhang walang nangyayari and I also put moisturizing cream sa area na yon. Until now, nagppeel pa rin siya. And in the past week may times na ang itchy niya. Is this eczema? nakakatamad kasi magpa-derma kung eto lang naman ipapa-check ko. Or is it because of too much exposure to water? Or dryness?

What affordable hand cream can you suggest? Thanks guys!

I started using Stiefel Polytar bar, the soap is specifically for Psoriasis and Eczema. My skin isn't that terrible, may part lang sa nape ko na dry and it started flaking.
