Eczema/Skin Asthma: What Products Do You Use?

I've been using the Human Nature SBO (Sunflower Oil) and it's just a holy grail all-around product! It moisturizes my skin, I particularly focus on the patch with eczema, and I no longer worry about itching and flaking on that area.

Nakakalungkot having skin asthma. Actually kelan lang nag-trigger yung sa'kin. Before,I use whitening soaps and lotions and sobrang bangong perfume. Kasi diba mga sis parang feeling natin ang ganda pag smelling good tayo? kaso when my skin asthma started, all i can use para di kumapal yung skin ko is Dove sensitive and Physiogel cleanser and lotions. Ang itim ko na ulit so sad tapos yung folds ng arms ko sa likod ng siko medyo maitim since yung yung nagsugat dati nung kinamot ko. Hay lagi na lang longsleeves sa office

@Pink_Sugar: No sis. Air conditioning will only aggravate the eczema kaya magda-dry ang balat. Kailangan temperate lang. Mas okay pa yung naka-electric fan lang tapos light clothing. Ang mahirap kasi sa eczema, sala sa init, sala sa lamig. Kapag mainit, magkaka-blister ka. Sobrang kati nito that you'd want to scratch it till it bleeds. Pag malamig naman, the skin will thicken, then cracks and bleed.

^Very true.  I had the very same experience to the point that I resorted to derma injecting steriods on my flairups but still did not work.

ginawa ko din to. lalo na pag di ko na macontrol yung itchiness. sa legs ako tinamaan before. siguro mga more 10 shots ang ginawa nila saken.

Im really happy na wala na siya now. I feel for all of you sisses. kung mababackread ninyo i was also a victim of this last year. now nakakapagshorts na ako. dont lose hope!!!

^Apir sis.  Ako rin, 2 years na nakakapagshorts and skirt sa office.  Never na ako nag pants to compensate for those years na hindi ko maipakita legs ko.

Sino nakatry ng Dr Bronner's Pure Castile 18 in 1 soaps? I want to try sana, daming positive reviews about these soaps. eczema and psoriasis affected people ito yata mostly part of their treatment routine.

sis jazzlawyer and xtine, pano nawala yung eczema nyo?  ako kase since october hindi na talaga nawala... feeling ko tuloy hindi na talaga sya magagamot kahit everyday pa ko magmoisturise.  nagstop na rin ako magtake ng antihistamine and steroids, wala naman kaseng improvement.  nakakalungkot lang kase dati super kinis ko... ngayon ang pangit na talag ng skin ko

yes sis hopeless din ako non! ikakasal pa ako just imagine that. habang nagwewedding preps ako, inaalala ko yung sakit. it took the better off me. if still have photos ng legs ko during flare ups. pag nakikita ko yun now naawa pa din ako sa sarili ko. now wala na sya. 

sis hindi ko sure pano siya tuluyan nawala pero i tried everything. restoraderm, physiogel, etc etc. lahat ng makikita mo ata ng products dito natry ko na. basta alala ko, I bought bottles of Aveeno and Lubriderm sa US... feeling ko dito nawala. kasi eto yung last lotion ko na inapply eh. tska ELica ointment. I also drink iterax at night. tapos Dove sensitive soap... sa US ko din binili. kasi yung dito na Dove di umubra saken.

so now maintenance ko is Aveenofor ultra dry skin lotion and Dove sensitive soap. di na ako gumagamit ng ibang soap and lotion. may nakaabang ako na Aveeno Eczema therapy and Elica sa house in case lang na may mag flare up saken. so far, di ko pa siya ginagamit

^^Sis Nigella, Dove soap unscented green during bath, physiogel lotion as moisturizing agent, never scrub your skin, wear loose clothing (avoid jeans). Try it for 2 weeks, don't take any steroids or antihistamine.

ang hirap talaga nitong sakit na to. last year I became really makinis when I took meds for my cough. I'm pretty sure it has steriods kaya nawala lahat. when I got better and the meds ran out, nagbalikan na naman sila.

sis jazzlawyer and xtine, thank you sa pagreply... ask ko lang gano katagal ba bago nawala yung rashes nyo? umabot ba ng taon?  ang sabi kase nung company doctor namin meron daw iba na inaabot daw ng 2 years bago mawala.  ang tagal kaya nun huhu.

grabe sobrang gastos naman kung aveeno and physiogel ang gagamitin ko lotion.  pero na try ko na both yan wala rin namang improvement.  yung binibili ko 500ml na jergens unscented 2 weeks lang tumatagal sa kin.  2x a day kase ko nagaapply ng lotion. kaya sobrang pahirap talaga tong sakit na to... butas na yung bulsa mo, very inconvenient pa dahil effort din ang maglagay na lotion sa buong katawan tapos 2x a day pa.

^ mahala talaga tong sakit sis. imagine Restoraderm lotion parang more or less 1k na siya. body wash pa. tapos yung ointments usually P500 tatagal lang minsan ng 1-2 weeks if sobrang dami.

yup mga 1 year sis, nagkaroon ako 1st quarter of 2012. naging ok ako bandang mid 2013... rashes nawala mga last quarter of 2013.

^sis pati ba scars nawala na nung gumaling ka? Ang sabi kase nung derma ko ang maganda daw sa sakit na to is hindi naman daw magiiwan ng scars. Eh ang dami ko ng scars kakascratch feeling ko matagal talaga bago mawala or maglighten man lang.

^ yes sis believe it or not.. nawala din scars! yun din akala ko na forever na ako magkakamarks. puro itim itim pa nga yung iniwang scars saken. pero nagfade siya in time. wala ako inaaply na ointments or anything na scar remover. usually time heals all scars sis hehe yung prenup ko nga lahat ng outfit ko puro mahahaba kasi i told my stylist i need long dresses because of my scars.

may isang photo jan nakawhite ako na nakaupo... pansinin mo yung legs ko may kitang scars na konti (8th row sa right) mejo di lang talaga obvious dito. pero sa raw files ko meron akong photos na kita talaga siya.

Joining... Ako I had a mild case sa right arm ok after I gave birth to my first baby. According to the derma my skin became very dry daw. Ang sabi sa akin before wag daw gumamit ng hot water for bathing. Should be lukewarm water daw. She prescribed cetaphil restoraderm wash & moisturizer/lotion. Sadly, my second baby (and girl pa!) also got this. Buti na lang mild case din daw. She's using the same products din as mine now. Tapos may creams din for the rough patches -- hydrocortisone for face & desonide for the body. I hope this goes away pa for my baby!!

mga sis, may eczema ako sa leeg. di na ako makatali ng hair kasi makikita siya. huhuhu. i feel so insecure. ang itim na niya tapos makati pa. may alam ba kayong product na makakapaglighten nito? i used katialis pero lalo naging itchy.

^you still have the eczema or is it just a scar? it seems na may eczema flare-up ka pa, in that case, you shouldn't be looking for a product to "lighten" it but to cure it. Mometasone (Elica) has been very effective for my eczema.

eczema doesn't usually leave scars, unless na lang na kinamot mo ng kinamot. i always get eczema on my fingers and once it clears up after using Mometasone, wala naman scars or discoloration.

for eczema prone skin ok ang physiogel ai cream  or mustela.. =)
