Eczema/Skin Asthma: What Products Do You Use?

For eczema, sabi ng derma ko, AVOID PAPAYA SOAPS, ESPECIALLY KOJIC. kase makati daw talaga yon at kalaban ng eczema. Better use moisturizing soaps like Nivea or Dove

My derma said na iwas or ingat nga daw with using organic products, or those with fruits or natural plant extracts as ingredients pag may dermatitis. Kahit sa hair products, I was told to avoid kahit yung shampoos or conditioners with fruits/plant extracts as ingredients. Kasi kahit all-natural, minsan dun sa ingredients na yun mas malakas magreact ang skin with dermatitis (or "skin asthma").

Most likely hindi yun natural extract ang problema. Ang whitening products kasi kadalasan drying, so yun yung nagpapalala ng eczema. Pero totoo din naman na paminsan, too much essential oils can be irritating.

sadly, my skin asthma still hasn't healed. it's been three(?) weeks.. and the worst part is i scratched a part of my arm sa sobrang kati (i couldn't help it when i was about to fall asleep) kaya the next morning, i realized nagkasugat2x na pala.  i wish this would subside na. i think i have scars to deal with later. Physiogel's AI cream didn't work for me. i also tried VCO, but parang lalong kumati? will hydrocortisone cream work?

i switched to using Dove for my body soap, except for my face na Kojic pa rin gamit ko.

switch to fragrance free products. even your shampoo. huwag na rin mag perfume.

ask your derma before using any steroids. may level kasi ng tapang mga steroid depende sa condition ng skin.

Correct. You really need a dermatologist pag malala na. Mahirap din kasi mag self-medicate. Steroid creams work very fast, pero kailangan mo pa rin ng doctor to tell you how long you're supposed to use it. Too much and you'll see your skin condition get worse.

Plus, complete lifestyle change: no fragrances, colorants, etc sa lahat ng personal care stuff.

my aunt had eczema, super suki na sya halos lahat ng dermatologists sa kung saan saang clinics.super naawa ako kaya i decided to accompany her in makati med, sa information we asked for a dermatologist who's clinic is open at that time, ive been telling her na expensive there pero sure naman na gagaling talaga sya.i forgot the name of the dr, pero as in, mga imported products nya and 1st visit pa lang namin there naka 27k worth of products including pf na kami. sobrang kalat na kasi sa legs nya yung eczema e.but no regrets, kasi talagang everyday, makikita mo talaga na may improvement.kaya super thankful sa akin talaga ang aunt ko na yun.

Hi sisses! I was diagnosed with skin asthma 2 years ago. Like many of you, I had to stop using scented products on my skin. Right now, I'm using Nature's Gate Colloidal Oatmeal Lotion (from Healthy Options) and BNHS' Very Oatmeal Soap. Sa arms and legs ko sya usually lumalabas. Right now, okay naman na, no rashes or anything. Pero minsan, may lumalabas parin na maliliit na butlig. Minsan, kahit walang butlig, makati parin pag super lamig. Pero ayos lang. Natotolerate ko naman...

Ang problem ko ngayon is yung UA ko. I have 2-3 dark patches on each UA na super itchy. The biggest patches are almost the size of a 25 centavo coin. The patches started out red, pero sa kakakamot ko, nag-dark na. I had this na last year and the derma had me treat it with Clobederm cream and Oatkin cream. It worked last year and I continued to use the two creams sa UA ko even after nya gumaling, kasi when I stop using the 2 creams, kumakati ulit. Thing is, ngayon, ayaw na mawala nung itchy dark patches even when I'm using the 2 creams. I don't know what to do anymore.

Share ko lang mga sis, ang laki ng improvement sa rash marks ko dati sa thighs and elbows ko, because of Cetaphil Restoraderm lotion. Dati grabe ang pangit and dark ng itsura nung marks, after they dried out (kasi nascratch ko din sila uncontrollably ); after a few weeks of using Restoraderm noticeably lighter na yung marks, as in konti na lang ngayon! So happy, I realized kahit pricey itong lotion na 'to I'd better stick to it kasi it really works to heal the problems of my sensitive skin.

Im guessing that my sister has eczema, she has red, itchy, bumpy stuff on her face just recently. And pati yung scalp nya and body itchy din (although wala naman bumps sa body sa face lang).

Any moisturizer/soap or facial wash you can suggest? Ill tell her to try it out and see kung magiimprove yung skin nya

^my derma suggested that I use only Dove Extra Sensitive soap/cream bar when bathing - it's fragrance-free and hypoallergenic, but moisturizing din. Medyo mahirap lang makahanap kasi the Sensitive variant yung mas madalas sa stores, so I hoard pag nakakakita ako. No problems or rashes since I started using this, though I have to make sure to moisturize immediately after taking a bath, with Cetaphil Restoraderm lotion (which dramatically faded my rash marks naman in about a month's time lang).

Hope this info helps your sister - but it would really be best if she got checked talaga by a dermatologist para malaman what will work best for her condition.

Cetaphil Restoraderm binigay ng derma ko. Ok naman siya, medyo pricey lang talaga.

^hi sis how much is the Cetaphil Restoraderm lotion? fortunately my skin is getting better now.. i'm using Dove as my soap. konti nalang ang bumps on my arms and almost no redness. i used to use Kojic soap for my body but i switched to Dove since my skin asthma.. and yes, it definitely lessened the dryness! i'm not sure if switching soaps also contributed to alleviating my skin asthma or if it just naturally faded over time but my problem now are the scars/scratch marks on my arms.

I've had eczema since childhood. Lahat yata ng products natry ko na. Most of them worked naman, Ang problem madali ma immune skin ko. So once nagamit ko na, di na siya tatalab next time. But there's one product an nagamit ko nun high school. Recommended by my friend's mom. Sobrang galing niya. As in completely nagheal eczema ko and Hindi siya bumalik for a long time. Kaya Lang nakalimutan ko an Kung ano yun. And Hindi Nadin matandaan ng friend ko at ng mom niya. Kaasar! The only thing I remember is that it's pricey, costs around 400php for a small tube. That was way back pa.

Right now, I'm suffering from eczema ulit. The worst flare up I've ever had. Tiny patches all over my legs. I'm currently using dermarest, ok naman kaya Lang Hindi niya completely Naku cure. So once I stop, balik ulit siya. =( Naka ilang switch Nako ng soap. Lahat na Yata ng mild! Hhaaayy..
