I currently work in a "famous" lol medical center in the Metro and my "work area" is sa loob ng doctors' quarter/lounge/work area, meaning, buong araw nakikita ko sila labas pasok sa room, hearing their raves and rants and chikas and all. Nakakatawa lang minsan pag may ibang tao other than us, flat affect sila, sungit-sungitan, pero kapag kami naman magkakausap, wala na bang mas kakalog pa? lol. But I salute all the MDs out there! Ilang beses na ako natanong kung bakit hindi na lang ako mag-medschool. Financially, possible. Pero physically, emotionally, mentally, socially, mukhang hindi na! 

Meron isang consultant doon nagkukwento about her relative na nag-quit yata ng med school just because nahihirapan na talaga. Shempre consultant na siya so nakikita ng relative na she goes out of the country to attend conventions, tapos kung ano anong perks and benefits pa ang nakakukuha, "flexible" na somehow ang time, pero sabi nga niya "nandito na ako sa end-point eh. eto na 'yung end" Meaning, no pain, no gain talaga! Totoo nga naman. Kitang kita ko kasi lahat ng levels ng MDs doon. From residents to batikang consultant na. You really have to work hard and do well para ma-reach mo 'yung ganun. And kaya I salute all MDs kasi imagine, hindi nagtatapos sa med school & board exams ang lahat, pero sobrang worth-it niyan sa huli

At dahil one week na lang, mga sis, school na. Sabi nga nila super madami daw changes. Parang kulang ang 3x hirap compared sa pre-med.. Babalik balikan ko tong threads kapag kelangan ko ng makakausap, mas ok na rin na virtually and 'physically' may friends ako God bless, everyone!

@bestfriendnijerome I'm a registered nurse sis pero hindi staff nurse ang work ko Pero still medical-related Pero super happy with this kasi nga mababait and cool sila. My immediate superiors are MDs din. Swerte ko lang may work station is inside the doctors' area kaya kahit papaano eh may kausap at friends ako lol.

In Medicine, dadaan ka talaga sa butas ng karayom. At kailangan my sipag at tiyaga ka. Otherwise, walang mangyayari sa iyo. The perks, privileges follow later. They will come to you gradually and you'll get to enjoy them.

Dahil frustrated (medical) doctor ako (never got to go to med school coz my fmaily couldn't afford it), idinadaan ko na lang sa panunuod ng medical dramas ang pagkahumaling ko sa all things med, hehe. But seriously, I really do admire physicians, there's nothing like being able to save lives.

^agree sis. Kaya I am grateful kasi super supportive ng parents ko. Iginagapang nila pag aaral ko.. Sis, gusto mo pa ba? May mga scholarship na inooffer naman makakabawas yun sa gastusin.. I got one, kaya super pressure sakin na mag maintain ng good grades knowing na medschool sobrang hirap daw..

^^^Naku sis FOURever, hahaha, I can afford it now but I'm too old! And I'm happy na in the academe; I'm happy na with my Ph.D. Doctor na rin naman ako, and I like teaching and research. Good luck with med school; I'm sure you'll do very well!

^wow! Ang galing sis! ano po field nyo? Meron din po akong classmates na mas matanda po samin, and someone na nasa 50's na po yata.. Ang gagaling nila

Anyway, start na ng school namin.. Buh-bye gt muna ako. Susulpot na lang pag madaming bakasyon good luck po sa lahat ng medstudents at congrats po sa mga doctors lalo na sa mga new doctors.. God bless us, everyone!

@cj_09, i had 2 classmates who were moms na when we were in med school.  i admired them so much for their time management skills.  one of them had 2 more kids while we were in med school and nanganak with her 3rd child one week before the board exams, pumasa naman!

^agree! Age doesn't matter nga talaga.. Grabe pag nag med si sis, at pag natapos nya, phd at md sya galing sobra!

^Applied Linguistics, sis. Life in the academe is too toxic for me to fit med school in so it will remain a dream for me, hehe. I have a daughter who's just 2.4 years old, malay natin, sya na lang ang mag Med paglaki nya.

PS: May mga nag suggest sa akin before na mag Med para I can work with speech disorders, but I don't need tot have an M.D. for that. Pwedeng mag Speech pathology na lang.

wow! im so impressed! wish next year i can study medicine na as it is my ultimate dream even before im still single

 hi po  . im a 3rd year pharmacy student. and i am planning to proceed to medicine. but i have a failing grade. can i still proceed to med? and my transcript of records is not really that excellent type. do i still have the chance to enroll to good schools?
