Civil Wedding and Confession
« on: April 26, 2012, 04:10:15 pm »
hi sisses, i just want to know your opinions lang. i am already married but sa civil only. 2weeks ago i decided to go for confession. The last time i had is noong nag-aaral pa ako. After telling my confession, the priest asked if i am married. I answered yes but when I told him sa civil lang he reacted on a devastated way. He told me i should get married at church first and then saka ako mag-confession. Kasi daw Jesus wanted me to follow his way. With what happened, i felt rejected and not forgiven. Nahiya ako mga sis kahit pa sabihin na kami lang ng pari nandoon at di pa nya nakikita face ko. Para akong pinagsakluban ng langit at lupa. My faith is my greatest armor and with what he said pakiramdam ko para akong di karapat dapat bilang katoliko. I told my husband about it but he seems no plan of marrying me sa church :'(

and i forgot to ask if i am allowed to go for communion also. hay. i don't know what to do. I cried on it kasi it my faith that matters. pakiramdam ko kasi hindi na ako pwede magconfess kahit kelan.. :'(

Hi Sis,

We  are civilly married too. Husband and I had confession last time the priest accepted us for the confession and told him the same that we are not yet married in the church. He advice us also that
it is better to get married in church.

Brutal ba pag kakasabi sayo ng priest ? Kung yes, alam mo na they are human too...
Just keep the faith to Him without looking sa priest.

i'm not a religious person..pero prayerful akong tao.

sis whatswithjuly, yun nga sis eh. the last time i'd go for confession is nong nag-aaral pa ako. High school pa ata ako non. I used to believe kasi na why confess to priest eh mga human rin lang sila, confess directly to God. Yun paniniwala ko. But lately sobrang ang dami nangyari sa buhay ko at faith ko lang yung tangi ko natakbuhan. Actually, i'd go for confession not only because i want to confess my sins but to talk to priest also para kahit papaano lumuwag ang loob ko..

hi sis stormy_princess - based on the Catholic teaching, you and your husband are also NOT allowed to take the Holy Communion while you haven't received the Sacrament of Marriage aka Church Wedding yet. But, if you really want to receive the Holy Communion, you must bow down before the priest with your arms crossed. Your may ask your Parish how to do this properly. I am speaking based on the Catholic teachings ha. You may opt to change your religious views if you want to. Remember, faith and spirituality is different from religion. HTH!  :)

^you're welcome sis. ayaw pa ba talaga ni husband mo na magpakasal kayo sa Church? it doesn't need to be expensive naman. kasi sis, i'll tell you na rin ha, if you really want to stay as a Catholic, then, kailangan ikasal talaga kayo sa Church or else, hindi rin papayagan na binyagan yung mga kids ninyo. reason is, how can you pass on the Catholic faith to your children kung kayo mismong parents eh kulang pa ng sacrament of marriage. kaya, habang maaga pa, and if you're decided naman to remain being a Catholic, better talaga po kung mag Church wedding na kayo. *but then I repeat, I am just speaking based on the Catholic teachings. nothing is wrong with other beliefs*

yun nga sis eh ang sama din ng loob ko sa husband ko kasi when i told him about what the priest told me, he ignored me lang. tapos i waited for him to open the topic about church wedding pero hindi nya ginawa. i wanted a simple wedding lang naman eh. yung tipong close family lang andun. i know naman deep inside na ayaw nya kaya di na lang din ako nagpumilit:(

i'm a devoted Catholic sis kaya masakit sa loob ko. Starting this Sunday hindi na ako mag-co-communion muna..

Well Sis baka may iba pang issues or problems na inuunang isipin si hubby mo. Kung maayos naman kayo at happy regardless na hindi pa kayo married sa church ang mahalaga you're not committing a heinous crime or anything.. Don't feel sad na Sis.
Ako nga nakakatawa nung nagconfess ako.. Like you nag aaral pa ako the last time na nagconfessed.
Parang i felt rejected kasi hindi ko alam gagawin or paano maguumpisa. Sabi pa ni Father ano na daw nangyari sa buhay ko kasi nga hindi ako nagcoconfess. Parang I feel like a sinful person.
Basta negative din naramdaman ko. Kasi nga ang tagal kong hindi nagconfess. At until now hindi pa ulit ako bumabalik sa confession ;)

^nakakalungkot naman nangyari sa iyo sis. ako rin, minsan nakaka tyempo din ako ng priest na medyo hindi "okay" magsalita. its a sad reality as hindi naman lahat kasi sa kanila are formally trained on how to counsel people. but since i really feel unburdened everytime i go to confession, what i do is i jump from one parish to another hanggang sa makakita ako ng priest na im comfortable with.  ;)

@ HoldingOn Gagayahin kita Sis. I'm going to visit other parish na lang din when the time that I feel like I am ready to confess again. Feeling ko kasi I am so living in hell sa pagkakasabi ng pari. Syempre ibang approach.
