^ thanks Grayce! :) pinag-iisipan ko pa kung sulit ba talaga ang Avent steamer and blender.  pwede naman mag steam while cooking rice sa rice cooker.  at mas ok din pala i-bake ang food.  how about fruits like apples and pears?  di ba kailangan ito gamitan ng blender?

^IMO if meron ka naman steamer ok na yun. and yes mas ok ibake then from there pwede mo iadjust yung consistency once you mix it with BM or FM. sa fruits naman, you have an option to give it fresh or pureed. for pears/apples, i scrape it using a spoon pag fresh ko bibigay sa baby ko, okay naman. but i also make steamed/pureed ones that i can mix with earth's best cereals then konting BM. if kakaririn mo na homemade ang food ni baby, ok naman si avent steamer/blender. kasi assuming na by 7-8mos your baby eats atleast 2x/day na then nakaka 3-4oz, that's about 1 jar na rin na maliit na baby food that's sold outside. atleast $4 yun each. one week at least $56sgd, times 4 for 1month supply.

kelan sya pwede sa fruit juice or fruit extracts?yung patak-patak lang?and where can i buy earth's best?tia :)

my baby is eating solids for 3mos already tomorrow. i'm giving him oatmeal plus pureed fruits in the morning and brown rice cereal with veggies for lunch. both sa healthy options namin binibili rice cereal and oatmeal.

my hubby wants to shift to home prepared rice cereal sana kasi kahit papaano daw eh di namin alam pano preparation nung mga binibili sa stores na ready made na. so we plan to buy organic brown rice sa supermarket and papagiling sa palengke.

pero for oatmeal wala ako alam na substitute. ok na ba ibigay those na nabibili sa grocery like quaker oats? masyado kasi fine din yung sa HO kaya gusto namin gawin on our own. baby has 6 teeth na pero looks like di nya ginagamit for eating. more of lunok lang ng lunok.

^kame sis okay naman kay baby yung quaker oats so long as not the instant. yung quick cooking. then you can use a miller to make it finer. you can also add water para di ganun ka thick yung consistency. the lumps can actually teach baby to chew pa. practice din nya kumbaga.

^thanks sis! sige i'll try the whole oats.

about sa rice, pano ba yung lugaw type? actually yun reason ko why i want to shift sa milled brown rice. mali pala kasi as fine din pala sya ng happy bellies tama ba?😊

^it is actually finer pa nga hehe :) pinagiling lang namin sa palengke. then we cook it like ordinary lugaw na mas maraming tubig kesa normal na kanin. you can also add chicken with it para mas magkalasa. my son loves it when mixed with chicken. he also likes nilagang baka kaso lang di kame masyado nakakaluto nun. :)

Ako din sis I just started feeding my baby at 6 months exclusive breastmilk sya since birth. I started giving her pala water in sippy cup di pa sya mamainom, di pa marunong. ayaw nya kasi ng bottle. ano ba tips nyo about this?

i made purees yesterday of spinach mixed with squash then put them in the freezer.  then i read in wholesomebabyfood site to delay giving spinach till 10-12 months because of high nitrate content.  baby is 8.5 months now.  is it safe to give baby the purees that i made?

^^ I also read that spinach shouldn't be given to infants under 1. Since your son is still 8.5 months I'd wait it out. Just eat or throw away the spinach that you made.

^^ at least organic.  yung akin naman, i washed many times and used feeding bottle soap then soaked for at least 30 min.  ngayon nasa freezer pa. dinedelay ko sa pagbigay.  pero sabi naman sa wholesomebabyfood na very conservative sila, the earliest at 8 mos. though some pedias say that introducing spinach is fine between 6-7 mos.

i find this chart from wholesomebabyfood site very useful:

http://wholesomebabyfood.momtastic.com/here/solids2chart.pdf

sandali lang nagamit ang  avent steamer/blender ko, mga less than 2 mos. kasi ang hassle when i have to prepare so much food.  once a week lang kasi ako nagprepare.  mas convenient if i just steam using the rice cooker while cooking rice then mash it.  kumakain na din kasi ang baby ko ng non-pureed food.

^ok na yan wag mo sanayin sa pureed food mahihirapan sila kasi with the transition of chunky/lumpy food. As much as possible I give organic talaga with her homemade baby food before. even when we go out nagbabaon ako ng food nya :)
