^^same with cecilydee.. i'm more flattered pag napagkakamalan akong Japanese or Korean.
here in out country kasi basta singkit, maputi.. Chinese agad.

i think it's the kutis kasi parang malinis tignan. pero masmakinis ang Koreans. as in poreless sila mala porcelain dolls.

true na pag may magandang morenang Pinay parang mas panalo yun para sakin if I were a guy. kasi what more pag pumuti pa sila?

a chinoy/chinay is a chinese who lives in the philippines, maybe born in the philippines or not, have that value that is different from the pinoys/pinays, but is totally different from the chinese that comes from china.  kumbaga we have a totally different culture and values but we're more of the pinoy side compare to the chinese from china.  to make it easier to understand, you can compare the pinoy and [textspeak!]-am living is the US.  then you would understand what i mean.

maybe we can call chinese that lives and are raised here in the philippines as chinay or tsinay.  then chinese from china as well chinese from china, just to avoid the confusion.

i am a chinay.  i am married to a chinese from china.  love at first sight, both of us.  ang t**** ko talaga :)  pero that's life.  i am okay naman.

it is just like this.  pinoys are attracted to chinays kasi simula bata hanggang paglaki, panay pinay ang nakikita nila.  syempre pag nakakita ang pinoys ng medyo kakaiba compare sa normal na nakikita nila while they are growing up, they got attracted to them.  and ang medyo kakaiba for them are the tsinita looking girls.

as for me, one of my weakness is pinoy na moreno.  grabe napapatitig ako minsan!  kasi lumaki ako na panay chinese guys ang nakikita ko.  oo may mga crushes ako.  pero when i see pinoy na moreno kahit hindi guwapo, i find them cute.  i can only speak for myself.  i do not know about other chinays.  kasi hindi ako nag-oopen up sa mga chinay friends.  they might find me malandi.  ang kausap ko about relationship is pinay friends, chinoy and pinoy friends.  but not chinay.  marami ang close-minded.

but really, pinays before you marry a chinoy, expect the worst!  we have cultures regarding who is the boss inside the house, the mother-in-law!  pero nag-eevolve na ren to better, kaso hmmmm i won't explain it here.  out of the topic na kasi eh :)   we have the mutual understanding of who owns us as wife after we are married.  although it is not that grabe but baka magulat kayo.  pero sympre depends pa ren yan sa chinoy husband and sa parents nya, and sa status ni pinay wife.  status ni pinay wife is monetary-related.  and again, hindi naman lahat is ganito ang situation.  depends talaga sa chinese party kung how they treat pinays as wife and daughter-n-law.

but please pinays and chinays, do not marry a chinese from china.  you would find them kulang sa lambing and baka mabaliw kayo.  kawawa.  just make sure you are earning 100k per month net income para isalpak sa mukha ng mother-in-law mo yung galing mo sa paggawa ng pera.  they are totally different!  i am talking about chinese from china na nasa philippines.  kahit mahirap and wala silang pera, the mother-in-law is expecting a mother-in-law-abidding daughter-in-law na magaling gumawa ng pera and magaling sa bahay.

As a chinay (pure chinese born and raised in the Philippines), I think tama yung attraction based sa hindi nakakasanayan... I have a lot of guy friends who are like me pure chinese rin.  And, most of them are attracted to Filipinas.  Well, there's also the factor na gusto nila ang pinay dahil easier daw sa courtship (actually they can skip nga daw courtship lol friends nalang tapos tanong is now the trend unlike pag chinays may 1 year ligaw sa girl and family pa and magastos) and to sustain daw dahil lower standards daw and walang cultural traditions like mga chinays.  (dowry, mother in laws, guy as the main provider, etc.)  But, I noticed those who are entrepreneurs or financially stable still prefer pure chinays rin.

On the other hand, mga random guys na nagaaproach sa akin to talk and ask for my numbeer are any race basta hindi chinese.  Well, mostly pansin ko Filipinos, indians and arabo lol.  And, may chinese guy friends treat me as one of the boys and barkada talaga.  Pero with Filipino friends, andun yung mas pampered dahil babae ako.  And, whether drunk talk or serious talk... they said na maganda daw ako lol.

Actually, when I graduated from a chinese school... halos magkakamukha ang mga Filipino guys sa akin. @_@  But, till now, I still prefer chinese guys kasi I'm not much into physical attraction but in other aspect like I feel more relatable and comfortable with them.  I guess nasanay rin ako na hindi super sweet and mushy ang parents and relatives ko so I prefer that.  I'm not so romantic kasi and mas gusto ko yung simple lang and more focused yung teamwork sa family kesa sa mga lambing.

isa pang proof nito is mga artista dito sa Philippines puro mestizo or mestiza =))

para din yang skin complexion, asians would want "white" skin while caucasians would want to be tan. we will never be happy with what we have. ika nga, the grass is greener on the other side  ;D

Right on the dot.  Chinese by nature ay hindi malambing.  Wala sa genes.  They just don't have it in them.

So kung romantic ka, don't marry a Chinese - mapa babae o lalaki.  You just have to look at her/his background kung nagkaron ba ng influence ng ibang lahi - dun lang magkaron ng chance na maging romantic sila. Otherwise, by default, Chinese is just a race na walang ka finesse finesse, romance, wala talaga.

maybe @blisstacy is talking about chinese that are coming from china.  my husband is a chinese from china.  i am a tsinay.  syempre may needs ren ang babae.  pag nilalandi ko sya para makipag s*x, pag pagod and antok sya, tinutulak ako palayo.  masakit yung sa akin kasi masakit para sa babae ang matanggihan ng s*x ng lalaki, asawa man nya or boyfriend or kabit.  pero totally hindi ko alam kung asawa ko lang ang ganito or lahat sila.  my husband also doesn't hug me.  or kiss me on the cheeks.  hindi naman ako malambing na person.  pero syempre gusto ko ren mafeel yung love ng isang lalaki.  hinahanap hanap ko iyon.

mga pinay and tsinay, pagdating sa love, gusto namin maramdaman yung lambing.  but pinoy and tsinoy, naku totally magkaiba.  pinoy (not so malambing to super lambing).  tsinoy (walang kuenta pagdating sa lambingan to malambing).  for chinese guys from china, yan i can not speak for them.  based on experience  :)

i got this babaero na pinoy ex-bf.  about year 2002 pinaggastos ako sa burgoo worth 900 php!  2002 yun ah!

by the way, do not call us as intsik.  we hate it.

May sense of pride sila. Pinoy, ewan ko.

Tapos tuwing may byahe ako, hingi ng pasalubong. Pero pag sila naman umuwi ng Manila (I am not based kasi sa Pinas), di naman nag ooffer.

I think the psyche behind it kasi sila mismo willing manlibre kung may extra sila. Like one time, one Pinoy friend of mine manlilibre daw sya. So syempre punta kami friends nya. I bought her a gift.  Tapos yung 3 other friends nya na ininvite, nakita may dala ako, so yung isa pumunta sa bilihin ng cake to buy a cake for 3 of them.  So ok na sana.

Pero pagdating ng order-an grabe ah. They ordered so much! Parang ako ang nahiya for them sa celebrant.

But I must say, hindi naman siguro lahat ganyan.

Now, going to sacred cow. I am not bitter. I am just upfront and blunt about it.  Natamaan ka ba? :)  Sorry, na-surprise din ako with my just-recent realization. All along I thought Chinese are OK, same as other races. But nung inisip ko nga, through the years, in hindsight (I am working kasi abroad with a big Chinese population so you may be able to tell where at iilan lang naman sila).  Mas romantic talaga ang ibang lahi. Being romantic is not always synonymous to flowers or lambing, it is the total personality of the guy on how he handles his dates/GF/wife.

Nakita mo na ba parents mo nagh holding hands?  Or yung dad mo holding hands of your mom?  If yes, that is very good.  But halos never ko pa ata nakakita ng couples na holding hands na Chinese, kahit na Tsinoy.  I think because they are just the 2nd generation of Chinese in the Phils.  3rd generation, I might say, may bahid na ng lambing from the Filipino culture. Which is good. But as I said, BAHID - again, not all ulit.

Again, these are just my observations. They may not be true in your eyes. Kaya nga now I had an opportunity to date again, sinigurado ko hindi pinoy, hindi chinese.  :D

Hm.  I'm seeing a trend here.

It seems to me that a number of you equate the preference of American guys as somehow superior to the preference of guys of all other nationalities.

It's as if everything is ok as long as it's ok for Americans.

One can make some incisive conclusions from that line of thinking.   ::)

Pero you can also look at other races in general.  Kahit Europeans. They are much much better lovers (not all syempre) sa nakikita ko compared sa mga Pinoy/Chinese.

I also tried observing kasi nga at one point in my life, I was so confused on the dating game since I did not experience it when I was younger.  But really, ang lousy talaga ng mga pinoy and chinese na nakikita ko (not necessarily tsinoy) relative to other races.

So kay sacred cow, maraming kang kilalang romantic na Chinese, but are you able to compare them with other races?  Or with Pinoy lang?  baka mga chines na kilala mo laki din ng Maynila, kaya same banana as mga Pinoy.

buraot means kuripot. I'm also full chinese, and I don't get offended with the word intsik kasi it's not deragatory as most people think. it came from the word a-chiak a long time ago which means uncle, hindi kasi mapronounce ng maigi ng sinaunang mga pinoy kaya naging intsik

@girltalker2

insanelypurpleprincess

^ I would have to agree with sacred cow on the point about PDA... culturally, basta Traditional Chinoy family ang roots, medyo hindi big on PDA, especially when there is a chance na may elders na makakita. Pero mag may chance naman to be sweet & romantic, eh di why not, dba? We're modest like that because we do care about what other people say and it matters to our families. On the courtship comment, I just noticed that Chinoy men are more practical (and by practical I don't mean stingy)... I simply mean that a lot of them would pursue a serious conquest when they see that they are somehow one foot in... syempre, may mga rare species of Chinoy's who are willing to go all out in a "you and me against the world" fashion, but mas prevalent ito sa mga Pinoy guys.

---
And as far the topic goes about most guys finding Chinese girls to be hotter than Pinays? I think it's pretty hard to say definitely if it's entirely true or not... I guess, it really varies from person to person and depending on other factors. This question naman kasi touches on the aesthetic attraction value lang eh and we very well know that when one decides to get serious... it takes more than looks alone to seal the deal.

there's a big difference between the mainland Chinese and the overseas Chinese. We overseas Chinese don't like the mainlanders and are very different in terms of personality, hygiene, manners, etc.

It's a slur regardless of its etymology. "Bumbay" simply refers to Mumbai but its a racial slur nonetheless.
