^ sis just received an email from oasis and she sent me the pic of orchard with their basic lights lang..you can pm me your email add and i'll fwd it to you..what i can describe in my opinion is white land yung light nia so it turned out plain and simple but still nadala pa din ng elegance ng mga drapes..

^sis what time ka nagpunta? nandun din ako mga 4pm may event sa pavilion. hizon's naman yung caterer niya. simple lang setup niya sa tables. nakapasok pa kami before dumating yung mga guests. nakapagtake kami ng pictures. yung sa verandah and orchard malinis pero nagtake na din ako ng picture.

hi girls.. as bisita po sa kasal.. never pa po ako ikinasal.. so yung opinion ko po pang bisita lang..

sa catering po.. nag se-set talaga ng expectation sa mga bisita ang ayos ng reception.. ang table set-up.. ang buffet table.. etc.. etc..

pero po para sa akin.. ang nagma-matter po ay ang food..
kasi kung maganda po ang set-up tapos pag tikim mo sa food ay ordinary din pala..
parang di din meets expectation siya..

pero what if decent set-up.. tapos pag kain mo..
wow ang sarap.. tapos kung buffet.. babalik pa ko for second round.. yun po yung maaalala ko..

kapag naman po plated meals.. yung serving po important din.. kasi kung masarap nga.. tapos gusto mo pa.. kaya lang di naman buffet.. medyo off din.. baka umuwi ng gutom ang bisita..

pero .. yun ay personal opinion ko lang po.. =')

Im not after after the set up lang, of course for me it should be both, kasi we have a lot of option na rin naman, choose the best, then make it to the fullest and satisfying talaga, I had food tasting with hizon pero mas type ko lasa ng cvj, lina vitan so-so lang for me., e mas superb pa setup ng cvj kaya winner na [textspeak!].

Sis andun ako ng 6pm, may idea n ako sa setup ng hizon, simple lang [textspeak!] sila, lage namang ganun yun.. Maganda setup ng cvj sa orchard, mas gaganda lalo yun kung may moodlights..7 kasi start ng party dun sa 2 venues, kaya siguro nung pumunta ka wala pang setup...

^^ parehas tayo ng food tasting na napuntahan sis! soso lang ang Lina Vitan and Hizon's for me tapos mas maraming freebies pa kami sa CVJ kasi nabuddy buddy na namin yung AE eh Mas masarap rin yung food nila and yung set-up maganda naman!

This coming Saturday na yung wedding anniversary ng parents ko. sana maayos lahat kasi ako yung "coordinator" haha i'll post pictures of the venue pag nakasetup na

may tanong lang pala ako mga sis, kasi yung verandah ay good for 150pax nila but yung guest list namin ay umabot na ng 200  sila mama kasi invite ng invite. pero natrim down na rin namin sa 180pax. problem lang is kahit kasya yung food, kasi mabibigat yung kinuha namin na entrees and controlled buffet naman, wala kami chairs and tables! dun kami kulang ng 3. I asked CVJ kung pwede mag provide ng extra chairs and tables, 1 lang daw ang free so max niya is 160pax if need daw ng marami kelangan ko raw kausapin Oasis kasi may extra charge na raw yun so pag ganun per head na ang bayad?

Sis nakapagfoodtasting ako sa CVJ sa Gazebo Royale.. Super ganda ng set up.. kaso hindi ko feel and food, specially desserts sinabayan pa ng AE na hindi accomodating.. hay Ill go for Hizon's na talaga...

^^we had an event 2 weeks ago at Oasis and kahit ok sa caterer and may available pa silang tables and chairs, Oasis won't allowed them to be set up. I guess ok lang yan sis as hindi naman 100% of the guests would really come based on the weddings i've coordinated ha. may minimal changes in seating arrangements lang na kailangan mo gawin on the day itself. congrats to your parents!

and you were right, hinid naman nakulangan ng seats, whew. pero during the planning nagtututruan sila ng CVJ kung sino yung dapat mag set up ng extra tables without charge ha. weird. haha but at the end it was oasis nga who said na may charge sila. ayaw pa umamin nung una. haha

anyway mini review lang sa CVJ. Setup was superb. kahit wala ng mood lightning carry na Ganda ng centerpieces and floral arrangements, plus the buffet set up was classy. they were even true to their word na maglagay ng Sofa instead of tifanny chair para sa parents ko (my dad being old and all has a bad back) the waiters were quick and alert and very nice (they got a nice hefty tip from my dad because of that) Ikaw na magsasabi sakanila na wag na i-refill agad yung glass mo kasi hindi pa ubis yung ice tea andyan na sila sa tabi mo haha Food wise, the guests all commented that the food was great, even my husband who is a picky eater (maarte talaga) when it comes to catered food said the food was great.

one small qualm i have though, sabi nung CVJ 175pax na raw nilabas nila so may 15 na extra (kasi 160pax including buffer na 10 eh) but! hindi naman nakulangan sa chairs (setup is 160pax) pero we did not pay additional na. Another thing, nasunod lahat ng nasa contract EXCEPT!! yung sabi nila na free choco fountain. I did not see it setup there. I was too busy coordinating everything that it slipped my mind, yung kapatid ko lang na bata ang nagsabi sakin and then narealize ko na wala nga yung choco fountain tsk tsk.

yun lang naman. over all it was a huge success mainly because my parents and my mom especially was happy and that was all that mattered if you need pics, i'll be happy to email them

hi mga sis! before ba kayo nakapili ng caterer for your event nakapagfood tasting kayo sa lahat ng caterers na kasama sa package nila? mostly kasi dito sa thread hizon's and cvj lang.

nakapagFT na kami sa hizon's and swan. yung food ng hizons di ako nasarapan masyado parang lutong bahay lang and yung nakita kong setup nila simple lang, yung sa swan naman masarap na rin yung food nila compared to hizon's kaya lang parang yung setup nila di pang wedding. Parang feeling ko sila yung tipong pangoccassion lang sa bahay hindi pang big event. tska wala silang binibigay na freebies, puro may charge.next na may schedule na FT is richgold.

yup, nakapag foodtasting kame ni hubby sa lahat ng caterer ng oasis except for lina vitan... kasi nakita ko yung menu list nila.. hinde ko nagustuhan.. parang ang simple lang ng mga menu.  Anyway, ang mga caterer that time (2010) were hizons, tamayo's, juan luna, cvj, swan and lina vitan lang.  We got CVJ and we were SUPER HAPPY with their food and service.   Actually, sila pa nga yung last na caterer na naFT namin.. heheh..

We liked Swan sana.. kaso ang pangit ng service nila.. during their grand foodtasting, walang nagaasikaso samin, yung mga waiters parang umiiwas sa mga clients. nasa sulok lang most of the time, tapos walang AE na lumalapit.  At may di magandang experience si hubby sa kanila.. Kasi si hubby, mahilig siyang itest [textspeak!] service ng mga waiters. Tinitingnan nya kung irerefill na ba yung baso mo if half-empty palang.  Kaso walang lumalapit nga na waiter.  Ang ginawa nya pumunta siya dun sa mga drinks tapos humingi siya ng water.  Ang ginawa ng waiter, since naubusan sila sa pitcher, kinuha [textspeak!] isang 5 gallon ng water and from there, nagsalin siya sa baso ni hubby. eh di syempre, tumapon sa kamay ni hubby.  Tsk. tsk.  Parang walang mga training yung waiters ng Swan.

attended another FT at oasis last august 18.. Hizons and Richgold. Sobrang naoff kami sa hizons kasi hindi accommodating ang AE, at parang napagtirahang food na yung sinerve samin. dalawang ulam and rice lang na sobrang dry and super tamis na ice tea. we asked bakita yun lang ang food kasi paubos na daw nainis si h2b kaya ayaw na niya... then next is Richgold. maganda ang setup nila based sa pics and ok naman kausap ang AE.. food is ok, mas gusto pa din namin ang Kusina ni Kambal (na marami naman negative feedback dito)... hay so upto now di pa din kami decided kung anong caterer... i'm hoping na pag CVJ maging ok na para maibook na namin... and based on your posts mukhang ok naman sila... sana talaga sila na hahahaha! =)

got married here last May 2011. i have organized and have attended few weddings also. the venue is ok, i bet, you booked the pavilion. it can fit 200 or more guests. i hope renovation is already done as we had a couple of parking issues from october onwards last year.

food tasting... better ask your AE to schedule you to as much as many caterers as possible. we ended up with Hizon's because of its consistency but Lina Vitan and the newest accredited caterer were also good. wala lang ako masyadong feedbacks kaya i settled with Hizon's plus there are lots of upgrades kasi.
