Hi! We booked Oasis Manila for our wedding ceremony and reception. Any feedback? Also with their accredited caterers. We are not yet scheduled for food tasting so I'm hoping to have any ideas about the food and set-up that their caterers offer

got married here last May 2011. i have organized and have attended few weddings also. the venue is ok, i bet, you booked the pavilion. it can fit 200 or more guests. i hope renovation is already done as we had a couple of parking issues from october onwards last year.

food tasting... better ask your AE to schedule you to as much as many caterers as possible. we ended up with Hizon's because of its consistency but Lina Vitan and the newest accredited caterer were also good. wala lang ako masyadong feedbacks kaya i settled with Hizon's plus there are lots of upgrades kasi.

hi sis, i got married here last July 2010 and happy naman kami with the service. sayang di ko na marerecommend yung nag assist samin kasi she left, e yung pinagpasahan at nagasikaso samin til the wedding day, i dont like her. make sure you read all thats in their contract para walang hassle.saka ask as many questions as you can para malinaw. Like I said, yung nag assist samin unless you ask, she wont tell you and nakakainis kasi last minute mo malalaman.  We got Hizon's and everyone was pleased with the food.  Check mo rin ang reputation ng mga caterers in case you are looking for other services.  Marami naman sa mga forums.

wow! thank you sa mga nag share checking on purple mint catering. isa sila sa newly accredited caterers. we got the orchard. renovation will be done by july 2012. that includes their bigger garden already 100+ din parking slots available sa new building nila. ano ba usually concerns na hindi naisasama sa contract?

hmm, kasi super hands on that time hehe siguro [textspeak!] halimbawa would be the cost ng carving stations, if you will have lechon. additional decorations.  What if you will modify the center pieces? kasi ako i didnt get the tall ones kasi we attended wedding before na [textspeak!] mga guests di sila magkakitaan kung mag uusao sila kasi mataas [textspeak!] harang sa table hehe. plus whats included are roses and I did not use any roses nung wedding ko. so ayun, we talked about it and made necessary changes. me mga bawal kasi sa kanila like use of poppers etc. muntik na kami mapenalty kasi [textspeak!] poppers pinaputok sa almost loob. e kung di namin najustify na we did not violate ayun malamang nasingil kami ng 10k.

i see... actually after we booked we found out about that too. we saw it in the contract... that' s why im thinking of alternatives to make our wedding more exciting other than having fireworks

^hi, dito yung reception namin nung wedding namin nung December 2010, sa gallery kame nun.. that's on the 2nd floor.  Overall experience was super memorable according to our guests.  And the food was great daw.  Btw, we got CVJ as our caterer.. masarap yung food nila and super daling kausap.. dami pa upgrades and freebies na binigay samin.  Kaya super happy kami with CVJ.  With regards to their decorations, ay bongga!! hinde sila nagtitipid sa decorations at flowers compared with other caterers.  We wanted sana Hizons because friend ng isang sponsor namin yung owner, but unfortunately, fully booked na daw ang Hizons sa wedding date namin, kaya we opted to choose CVJ.  Ang classic pa nun, sabi ng sponsor namin na friend ng Hizon's owner, eh mas masarap pa daw sa Hizons yung food ng CVJ.. lol..

No problems naman sa parking since may valet parking naman.. so hassle free yung mga guests. 
Yung coordinator namin is Mah-ann. Madali din siyang kausap and madami din siyang suggestions kung sino sa mga caterer nila ang okay at kung sino yung highly recommended na supplier nila like yung host if your planning to get the free hosting with the package.  Recommend ko na rin syo yung host namin na tie-up sa OASIS, Vilma yung name nya and magaling sya according to our guests.  Though, medyo sing-song ang tono nya magsalita pero magaling sya.

^thanks a lot sis! of course malaking tulong ang feedback mo sige inquire ako sa cvj medyo hindi nakikipag coordinate yung AE namin sa oasis. heard bad feedback about her already pero i tried to give her a chance. well, totoo nga. kaya ako nalang mag coordinate with their affiliated caterers kaya super thanks sa suggestion mo happy to know na naging memorable din ang wedding mo dito looking forward na ako sa amin. hehe.

^ you're welcome sis! btw.. if your AE is not being helpful.. why not ask for someone else na pwede makatulong.. syempre..wedding yun.. it's a big preparation.. mahirap na if on the big day may mga aberya tapos hinde mo mahagilap [textspeak!] AE mo or di ka matulungan..  though wag naman sana diba.. better to have someone else na this early on palang.   Like nung wedding namin.. we had a problem with the projector.. hindi dumating yung supplier namin na magpoprovide sana nun.. our AE provided us with the projector.    Also, we arrived early on the reception, we scheduled it at 6:30 pero before 6pm  nandun na kme, heheh.. our AE adjusted the time at 6:00 in our contract and she made sure na maayos na agad yung reception para hindi na maghintay ng matagal yung mga guests. 

There's one instance na nandun kame sa oasis.. tapos sa kabilang table eh may nagrereklamo na client... 7th bday ng anak nya.. I can't help but overheard na nagagalit sya sa AE nya kasi during the event daw eh hinde naman daw sya sinabihan man lang na matatapos na [textspeak!] 4 hours time nila.. what happened is pinatayan daw sila ng ilaw kahit di pa tapos [textspeak!] event..    

Kaya sis, if maraming bad feedback yung AE mo.. kuha ka nalang iba.. I'm sure papayag naman sila.  Good luck sis sa preparations..

^hmmm... sige i will try to talk about it sa ae namin. actually parang naka chikahan ko na kasi sya kaya one reason din siguro na relaxed sya. and i understand na marami sila ginagawa kaya di nya ako matutukan. but i will tell her my concerns next payment schedule namin thanks sis

@polar_bear, I agree with your friend.  Mas nasasarapan ako sa food ng CVJ kesa Hizon's.     Pati sa styling and set-up, mas nagagandahan ako.  Matagal na rin sa business ang CVJ.  I got them for my kids' baptism and first birthday naman.

thanks din for another feedback marose17 actually may bagong accredited caterer ang oasis. purple mint catering. we had our food tasting last weekend with them. umaga hizons sa gabi purple mint. masarap naman food ng hizons but it seems a bit ordinary when you compare it with other caterer's. parang sosyal lasa ng purple mint. pang hotel. we're really torn tuloy kasi ang ganda ng set-up na pinakita ng hizons. though iniimprove naman daw nila yung food nila, parang iba pa rin kasi pag lutong pang culinary diba?

^ Yes, ganyan din ang feedback ko sa food ng Hizon's, very ordinary lang, parang upgraded na lutong bahay.

I suggest huwag kang malula sa name or sa freebies.  Go for the caterer that will give you the best food, styling and service for your budget.

yun nga din nasa isip ko. upgraded na lutong bahay. hehe. sa purple mint kasi, iba talaga yung lasa. rich with herbs and other ingredients na hindi ko na alam kasi hindi naman ako marunong magluto ang nag-e-encourage lang sa akin sa hizons aside from freebies, yung lighted buffet table nila. but i cant keep my mind off sa food ng purple mint to think na hindi naman ako mahilig sa food. hehe. before kami mag food tasting, i dint consider the taste of the food kasi 2nd priority ko lang yun in choosing a caterer. hindi talaga ako mahilig kumain pero when we went to the food tasting, ganun pala yun. malaking factor din pala ang lasa ng food. haha! another concern is kung same taste kaya kami ng guests namin. kasi yung brother ko sinama namin sa ft. hindi sya mahilig sa mga ganong food. kaya mas gusto nya pa rin hizons. eh it's like hati naman ang guests namin pag iniisip ko ang taste nila sa pagkain ;p

^ Kung hindi mo malimutan yung food ng Purple Mint eh I think that's a very good sign.     Pero sige, taste ka pa ng sa iba.

Ang sa akin lang, very common talaga yung lasa ng food ng Hizon's.  For example, yung roast pork, roast beef at fish fillet with gravy nila eh iisa ang lasa ng gravy.   Kapag natapat ka pa sa hindi okay na AE or staff, eh mahirap na.  Naka-attend kasi ako ng parties na catered by Hizon's.  Minsan sablay ang service, minsan naman okay.  Hindi yata consistent.

Ano ba ang freebies nila?   Kung choco fountain, forget it!  Hindi masarap!

meron pa like instead of 1 pasta, we have choices na between red and white sauce. with 2 pasta choices din. pero pang hatak lang talaga sa akin sa hizons [textspeak!] buffet table. haha! and mabait din naman pala naghahandle sa akin. maasikaso at maayos kausap
