I refuse to spend on:

1. Signature clothes, shoes, bags, make-up and anything vanity.
I was never into brands even if I will be able to afford it in the future.
I splurge when there's screaming SALE though. And when I mean SALE, I mean, 50-70% discounts. hehe.

2. Electronic gadgets.
When the touch screen technology first came out, I bought the most affordable touch screen phone for myself approx 5 years after. Now, I'm itching for an android phone but won't indulge until current phone breaks. Ipad? Iphone? Ipod? Idon'tgive a d*mn to them because I think it has become a status symbol.
And yes, I've lived this philosophy ever since I lost a phone so dear to me because it was a gift from my dad.

3. Premium car and car accessories.
My father is an invalid and it breaks my heart when I see him have a hard time being transported in public commute. That time it was a necessity but I bought a second hand car instead from a relative. I don't care if it's a '98 model as long as it can ferry my dad from one place to another. hehe.

4. Overpriced coffee. Fine dining.
I do my own coffee mix and I'm fine with it. The husband is fine too with 3-in-1's so why bother? And as for fine dining, I don't think I can have a satiated stomach if my pocket's the one deprived after. hehe.

5. Celebrations. Anniversaries. Occasions.
My own wedding was 60% DIY and we vowed to make "anytime" as a gift-giving time.

Wala na ako maisip. It's just the cheapskate in me/us talking. On the other hand, if gala ang pag-uusapan, go kami ni husband. It's the experience, memories and the bonding that one can't probably put a price tag on.

overnight stay hotel in manila  - it's just a waste of money when i can stay at home i might re-consider if it's an out of town trip

branded bag- i used to covet branded bags before when im still single  but now that im married i've become frugal i think twice before i spend

Latest cellphone / gadget model - why buy the latest model when im quite content with my Samsung mobile phone i would only replace it if my phone isnt working anymore. Got my Ipad2 as a gift from my hubby

brand new books - i buy my books second hand  usually bought from ebay or multiply sellers

jewelry - i wont spend my money on themwhen i got married bigay lang lahat ng jewelries ko hehe..

Rolex- i refuse to buy this brand kahit na may budget ako it's not practical kasi to wear a Rolex na pang everyday use more on pag may special occasion lang kaya i opted for Charriol na lang for me and my hubby (matching his and hers watch)

Hair treatments DIY ako eh

Expensive make up, I dont wear a lot so hindi na ako bibili ng mahal

Buying a LOT of clothes, shoes and bags
I like classic and staple pieces na I know magagamit ko for a long time.

Latest gadget , my phone is still not a smart phone , I dont need one since SAHM naman ako. As long as I can call and text okay lang. I have my IPAD2 naman to back up the technology my phone doesnt have

Buy Branded clothes or shoes for my son, kids grow up so fast so hindi rin nila magagamit pang long term.

Coffee kasi we brew our own tapos Starbucks din naman yung ground coffee ko. I also get a free cup everytime I buy the bag.

Expensive hotels, If I can find something that is cheaper, clean and safe dun na lang ako.

In general din I dont spend money on things that I know impractical for me or for my family. I try to be frugal para mas malaki yung maipon.

Expensive slippers like havaiannas and ipanema. I even have bought a pair worth Php 250 sa department store but til now, makapal pa din and di pa nasisira.

although guilty ako sa designer's bag :) because i have LV as gift sa sarili ko for all the hardwork for the past 3 YEARS! haha!

branded bags, shoes & clothes

make-up & brushes
- Basta makahanap ako ng right shade for me, pwede na yun.

jewelry & expensive watch
- Since I was a kid, I'm not used to wearing jewelries.

cosmetic surgery
- The heck with this!

expensive slippers (havs, ipanema, etc.)

branded baby clothes & shoes

Back in highschool nung nagsisimula na mag-smoke ang ilan sa amin, I calculated the expenses of a smoker versus the amount of my allowance, ayun na-realize ko na hindi naman kailangan so hwag na.

Agency fees for helpers/maids - i have been getting helpers from agencies na di naman lahat tumagal sa amin.

Movie / Concert Tickets - I am not fond of going to movie houses kasi... mas prefer ko pa yung DVDs kasi pwede ko pa ulitin if I wanted to or just having a copy of that movie.  I would also rather have a wifi access so i can watch You Tube.  I am addicted to it.

Hair Treatments to Salons like Rebond etc.. - more of DIY kasi ako, I have no time to drop by to salons

Unbranded or not well-made clothing -  I see clothes as an expression of your mood / personality and people treats you the way you dressed up.  I prefer well-made clothes that will last longer than those from tiangges na ilang laba lang natatastas na yung tahi.  There are brands na pricey na kaya namang abutin especially kapag worthy naman yung quality.  This is more practical to me than having more cheaper ones na madali namang masira.

Accessories - I love accessories especially if they are given as a gift or token but I will not spend my own money just to buy one. =)

Luxury bags - having one is almost a 2 year tuition fee ng anak ko and it has the same function with other non-luxury ones.  I will still prefer well-made bags  with reasonable price.

Too much gadgets - redundant na kasi pag may touch-screen phone ka na, then may tablet pa, then may laptop pa....

for me ok na to izabelle.  Balanced naman preferences mo eh.  Well, having an LV bag will last longer and super longerrrrrr than having a latest cellphone na ilang years lang din naman sa yo... Sulit pa din naman. =)

^me too I'd rather spend my money on bags na good quality naman, timeless at pwede ipamana kesa gadgets na nasisira naman at nawawala din sa uso.

I don't spend din on hair treatments, VCO lang pwede na :)

Concert tickets, I can watch them on tv naman

Gym membership- may workout videos naman

- iPhone
- manicure and pedicure, I can do my nails myself
- hair treatments like hair spa hot oil hair wax ( except sa hair coloring and rebonding), these don't last long and don't make a big difference to my hair.

Books - I'm a bookworm pero never ako gumastos to buy a new book (except textbooks sa school or pangregalo  :P) .. lahat ng books binibili ko ng 2nd hand or sa book fairs, ebay and other sites. Minsan tyagaan lang maghanap. Almost 50% din kasi ma-ssave tapos yung ibang books naman halos walang sira/as good as new.

Branded Clothes/Bags - We're in to "Ukay" business so dun ko halos nakukuha mga gamit ko hehe.. pero syempre nagsshopping din naman ako once in a while.

Siguro cellphone every 2/3 years ang palit then other gadgets hangga't di sira gamitin pa din.

FASTFOOD - when I started working years ago, my salary was burned to FOOD! from 120 lbs, I ballooned to 136 lbs in two years. I started eating healthy; from 136 lbs, I trimmed down to 125 lbs in a year. I never looked back!

Hair / Face products - I used to buy different products just to try even if my current bottles are not yet consumed. I ended up not using them as it's not compatible with my hair or face. Now, I just stick to what works for me.

Cab - this is another salary burner. I'd ride a cab when I'm running late for work. I saved a lot when I opted to just walk and ride an FX / MRT.
