Something new to bring home from Iloilo..cookies from Mama's Kitchen.

handicrafts like the looms, weaves and embroideries. some are being sold in a shop beside mama's kitchen in arevalo. Loren legarda's blouses are made of this looms.

Hi mga sis, patulong naman ha. Punta ako iloilo soon. Will stay at one lourdes dormitel.10am arrival. Better magvisit muna ng churches bago chech in noh? Malayo ba sa airport ang maigao and jaro church? And also iloilo musuem?

Tapos check in nalang ng 2pm?

Tsaka what time nagbubukas for dinner ang breakthrough? And anong time kaya nagkoClose? Masarap daw kasi dun?

^ miag-ao sis is outside the city pa, mga around 30-40mins siguro ang byahe.
if galing ka ng airport naman, and ride yung shuttle nila going sm city you can visit first jaro cathedral church since malapit lang, then from jaro cathedral naman, if you prefer jeepney, you can ride jaro cpu going to city proper madadaanan ang iloilo museum, stop nun is sa donne baptist school or before the atrium mall. kung mag taxi ka, wala pa sigurong 15 minutes.

about breakthrough, you can check their facebook page, there's breaktrough sa plazuela (near sm city) if nalalayu-an ka na sa villa branch nila, though sa villa is tabing dagat.

makikisagot na ako ha, kasi dyan kami nag stay last year ng family ko when we went to iloilo. Yung bayan ng Jaro madadaanan bago ka makarating sa One Lourdes from airport, pero hindi sya sa main road, papasok pa. So kung gusto mo i-visit yung church magpadaan ka na sa taxi doon bago kayo tumuloy ng one loudes. Ang miag-ao malayo. Maybe schedule mo ito sa sunod na araw. Yung iloilo Museum, one jeepney ride lang from One Lourdes, tapos from there marami ka ng ibang pwedeng puntahan or kainan. Maglakad lakad ka lang. May isa ring church doon eh, nakalimutan ko lang ang name.

Masarap sa breakthrough... di ko lang alam kung nagc-close sila inbetween lunch and dinner, kasi as early as 11am, nakakain na kami doon.

sis gabrielle we tried breakthrough in villa beach. Enjoy kasi by the beach lang.  Hapon kami nagpunta nun bukas na bukas sila di nagsasara until dinner na yun sis.

Mukhang ok din sa Plazuela de Iloilo (katabi ng SM) pero if weekends kayo kakain I suggest agahan nyo, jampack yung breakthrough sa Plazuela, waiting ka kung late ka na pupunta.

^do you mean the resto 'ponsyon by breakthrough' sis? yeah we queued there too. A waiter tipped us the next time we dine we should make a reservation coz that's what the locals are doing. I love their chicken binakol and of course the popular chicken Inasal. i like their take on the buko juice. Grabe hirap akong ubusin.

How to get to Miagao Church? Kelangan na mag private transpo for this? Is there another way? TIA!
Also, what other churches meron sa Iloilo?

sis pwede ka magjeep pa puntang Miagao. Halos bawat town na madadaanan mo may simbahan so pwede ka magchurch hopping.

May pa Miag-ao sa Mohon Jeep Terminal or from Iloilo Terminal Market (palengke na maraming terminal ng jeep). Ipagtanong mo lang din sa pagstayan mo pano pumunta sa alin man sa dalawa or kung anong pinakamalapit na way for you.

You ride the jeep with UPV-miagao signboard sis. along the way you'll pass by oton cathedral, tigbauan cathedral, guimbal cathedral and finally, miagao. from the city you ride the oton jeep, then go down mohon terminal where the UPV-miagao jeeps are waiting (UPv stands for UP in the visayas). going back, ganun din. baba ng mohon then go back to the city via oton jeep. Churches naman to see in the city are San Jose cathedral near city hall, st clement's church in lapaz district, Jaro cathedral in Jaro district and molo cathedral in molo district. for a more modern feel, you might want to visit Santa Maria church (chinese church) of Ateneo de Iloilo and the church of SM Delgado (airconditioned).

Stayed in Ong Bun Pension House last June 1 and 2 and all I can say is you get what you pay for, the room is so-so and the sheets and towels are a bit on the rubbish side already, so if you're kind of OC when it comes to these things better to bring your own. Their services are great though, medyo okay naman yung mga tao. Plus it's near Robinson's and SM. Sa harap nya meron na din dumadaan na mga jeep going to the airport, plus it's also near Ortiz Wharf.
