^In a bull market, equities do better. When the bear comes, everyone flees to the the safer funds/investments.

To switch to a fund, you have to redeem all your shares from the first fund, then buy shares again from the second fund.

^Bull market: stocks are going up, index going up, everyone making money, everyone happy, everyone's a genius.

Bear market: everything's crashing, everyone's panicking, everyone's scared. See (most recently) year 2008, which was the collapse of Lehman Brothers.

We are in a bull market now, one that started in 2009. But because we are reaching all-time highs nearly every day, we could be at the tail-end of it. It is most risky to go into an investment that just reached an all-time high. But hey, who knows, we could go even higher. Nobody can tell, we can only guess.

As for bank's equity funds: what is doing well now is BPI. Last year, it was Security Bank beating out everyone else. Back in 2009-2010, it was, by a mile, UnionBank. In short, the "bank na magaling for equity" always changes. I would suggest you just go with the bank that's most convenient and comfortable for you to invest with.

i know no one can tell kung tataas pa ba or babagsak na, but gusto ko lang malaman opinions ng iba about this... thanks in advance!

^You can listen to the opinions of financial analysts themselves:

Analyst who predicted '97 crisis sees PSEi at 8400... before coming back down

COL's Elliott Wave count showing possible maximum target at 8,300

"market is currently overvalued at the 7,800 level which is why it may have a hard time sustaining growth once it enters the 8,000 to 8,400 level"

On the opposing view, Philequity analysts say to stay the course and "don't fight the FED". The FED isn't raising interest rates just yet. Foreign funds continue to buy into our market.

9 out of 10, following/shadowing the moves of big market movers lead you to the right investment decision.

^Every time the index reaches an all-time high, a consolidation phase at around ~300 points below can be expected. So this dip at 7800-7900 is normal after the index reached 8100+.

There are a few factors that are making me nervous, though. Number one is that this bull market can be considered old, and a major correction can happen anytime soon.

@m_lim meron. makikita mo sa fund fact sheets nila
or yung bagong term nila KIIDs

See here: https://www.bpiassetmanagement.com/upload/files/bpi-investment-funds/bpi-equity-fund-fpr/2_KIID_UITF%20-%20EQ%20-%20BPI%20EQ_Mar2015.pdf

1.5% ang fee ng BPI Equity

@ crzysxycl

A temporary decline during an uptrend in the market.

Hi.  Sa mga may existing na bpi uitf online, paano kayo nagpa partial redemption.  Is yung gain lang ang gusto ko out then yung principle stay ko pa rin sa fund.  Paano gagawin redemption dun?  Thanks sa help.

sis try this: Gain/current price of unit = no. of units to redeem. of course pwedeng magka difference since you wouldn't really know how much ang daily price ng unit until the end of the day.

Pag na redeem na yung gain, hindi naman nag zero ang gain/loss portion.  Ang average price or yung current average ang nababawasan.  Ganun ba talaga?
