The post you link shows Unionbank ahead of BDO by 1.24% which is
something classify as not that big of a difference considering the
fact that Unionbank has a buy/sell spread(ATTN Zaki, baka you didn't know)

Currently though the difference is less than 1%
The following are links to the bloomberg page for BDO
and Unionbank respectively.

http://www.bloomberg.com/quote/EPCIBEQ:PM
http://www.bloomberg.com/quote/IFDLCPE:PM

@ Zaki, with that said, you should also look at the long term
record of a fund and you should see that Unionbank is lights years
ahead of BDO when it comes to 3yr and 5yr returns.

Personally, I wouldn't invest in Unionbank. Because I hate
fees in principle and their buy/sell spread is just another fee
in disguise.

^yeah I read about it too. Although I must admit I didnt understand it.  :o
Basta for now 85% of my investments are in BDO, 15% in BPI. So far Im happy with BDO naman.  ;)

that's a really great way to look at it... BDO is getting really good with their slogan of 'we find ways'

^apply ka pa rin kasi pag na-approve ka na tsaka ka pa lang makapa-gsubscribe for new shares (MF) or units (UITF). and make your profile aggressive na para once available na PSIF ulit, ready ka na :)

^ gusto ko i-try yun. kaya lang i will need to enrol again for UITF. kasi sa MF lang ako ng BPI enrolled. di ko pa napagsabay before. sa mga mag-oopen pa lang ng investment account with BPI, isabay nyo na application para isang submission na lang at nang wag kayo matulad sa akin  ;D

baket ganun aggressive yung result ng test ko pero wala sa suitable product list ko ang PSIF. i applied for both Mutual Fund and UITF ok lang kaya yun kahit di pa ako bibili agad sa Mutual Fund uunahin ko yung UITF since wala pa ang PSIF?

i read somewhere that PSIF is currently over-subscribed and they're applying for approval on additional shares to sell... kaya siguro wala sa list mo

di ka rin kasi makaka-bili ng shares

^ yup at the moment, hindi talaga available yung PSIF, ALFM Growth Fund and ALFM Money Market Fund. pending approval pa ng SEC bago sila makapag-offer ng new shares. kaya hindi talaga mag-appear yung mga funds na yun.

kaya pala Suze Orman recommends to invest in a Stock Index Fund (she mentioned it during interview with Karen Davila on Headstart). kasi yun pala ang bagong offer ng BPI, Philippine Equity Index Fund  ;D

Just opened a BDO Equity Fund today! Dali lang naman pala. I had to open a Savings Account din para makapag Easy Investment Plan. I told myself after elections I'll open na talaga. Sana ok. First time to do business with another bank aside from BPI. Mas convenient lang talaga lahat sa BPI though, like their online banking facility, ease of payments, etc, pero if BDO outperforms BPI then ok na rin :)

I saw the interview, I like Suze, she's so perky, girlfriend! :) Short of plugging BPI's newest UITF at P100.00 NAVPU.  Any thoughts on this?  Just like IPO of stockes, the first 2 weeks magalaw pa, then it will settle later on.  I am interested, but no cash right now.  I might need to redeem some then subscribe to PEI.

^You just need 2 valid IDs and 2 ID pictures. Then of course the minimum 10k for the Equity Fund. Yung Savings account nila 2K lang if ATM, then 5K if passbook. And you just need to personally sign the forms din pala. Yun na :) Good luck to us!! :)

Hi sissies and bros, I just want to share what I received via email this morning:

Why ‘money lady’ Suze Orman wants you to stop buying lattes.

"Investing is more satisfying than an overpriced latte."

As the host of CNBC's The Suze Orman Show, Suze Orman is known for having coined the term "latte expenses," which refers to small daily expenses that people make without realizing how they can add up in the long run.

"Look at it this way, even if you did that once a month, spent P100 a month on a cup of coffee and you did that for the next 40 years... If you had taken that money and invested it, you would have P1 million at just P100 a
month," she said.

Say goodbye to your latte and say hello to the newest investment fund, the BPI Philippine Equity Index Fund!

With a minimum initial investment of only PhP10,000,  you  can  already subscribe to the BPI Philippine Equity Index Fund  through any of the BPI Branches or through BPI Expressonline, and own a  little  bit  of all the PSEi shares! This product works best with a cost averaging  strategy  that is  why  you  should  enroll  it  in our Regular Subscription Plan (RSP) and regularly invest for as low as PhP1,000 every month or every quarter.

So the next time you think about buying a latte, think twice. Make your own cup of coffee at home and start saving that Php 110 and invest in the BPI Philippine Equity Index Fund and have the satisfaction of watching your money grow.

To know more about the BPI Philippine Equity Index Fund, visit http://www.bpiassetmanagement.com  or email us at bpi_asset_management@bpi.com.ph to know more about this new fund and how it could help you achieve the twin benefits of widest diversification in Philippine index stocks and superior long-term returns.

PS. I am not connected with BPI but I see this as a long term investment that I wanted to share to my fellow BPI account holders and future account holders / investors. Thank you! :)
