Sa ganda ng Equity parang gusto ko na nga ilipat mga Balanced Fund to Equity... Kaya lang wait muna ako after election.  :-\

Totally different.
Look up mutual funds in google.
UITFs and mutual funds are fundamentally the same
with minor differences.

Let me put it this way, if u have 100k punta ka sa bank
Time Deposit will give u guaranteed 50+ pesos a month (more or less)
SDA will give u guaranteed 100 a month (more or less)
Sa UITF equity, hindi guaranteed, high risk pero high return if maganda ang stock market. As of now, posibleng kumita ng 3k a month (more or less).

Question lang,.. Since di ba prediction is bababa yung navpu after election. Do you withdraw your UITF before election then open a new one after election? Ano magandang diskarte rito?

I have BDO Equity.

^--- that's where the risk is... "prediction"

what you can do is actually buy more should the NAVPU go down because of correction on market.  this way you can buy at a lower price that would likely gain you more in the next few months when the PPP are really starting

window dressing pa rin kasi ang PPP

Sorry but what do you mean by window dressing? and PPP?

Plan ko bumili uli pag bumaba yung NAVPU, I just do not know what to do sa una kong binili. If iwiwithdraw ko na para maramdaman ko yung kinita niya or just let it be.

Google it but to save you the trouble,
here's the first match on google
http://www.investopedia.com/terms/w/windowdressing.asp

entwife, I can see what your problem is.
You lack a goal.

If let's say you plan on investing for your
kid's college which is a decade away then you'll
want to keep your existing investment in equities
and invest more than normal if the market goes down.

As you near the time you'll need the money, you'll
want to transition to bonds to protect your gains if
you think its going to go down and will go further down(if
the market is already going down).

You can employ a rebalancing strategy to lock in gains
MECHANICALLY(meaning you take out your emotions
from investing)

Let's say year 1 -> Equity 100% Bonds 0%
Year 10 -> Equity 50% Bonds 50%
etc
So, if the market is doing really well.. your investment
in equities might go over 50% and since you rebalance
you'd sell off the excess and invest it in bonds.

Note, that these are strategies recommended by experts
but I do not practice rebalancing. Too much hassle. Its
only doable with BPI's online system.

mxherr5 thank you for the reply.

Yeah, i am not really sure what to do with it, but I won't be needing the money now so i'll just leave it there. Ang advise din sa akin ng BDO personnel is long term investment ang equity at least 3 years.

So far doing good naman yung equity, so magdadagdag pa ako.

^Hi sis, sa ngayon mataas ang stock market. So that means mataas ang UITF. Nasa iyo yan, maganda mag pullout sa balanced fund dahi mataas ngayon, pero kung ililipat mo sa equity, mataas din diba?

Why would that hinder you from doing a comparison?
BDO and BPI have historical NAVs on their site and you
can also use bloomberg for this.

@entwife, nice

@gab54
ayun sa aking nanay since sa kanya naka-place yung mga investment since i'm overseas, stay put nalang yung balanced fund sa bdo pero mag-open nalang ng large cap sa Unionbank.
Based sa historical performance ok naman yung large cap, yun nga lang 2% yung management fee while BDO 1% lang at YTD performance halos pareho na sila.
