^ If you are enrolled in bpiexpressonline then you can apply there directly, print and sign the form, then send it by courier together with other requirements like photcopy of two valid ids, etc.

^ Sis, meron form dun na you have to fill out for Risk Profile Assessment so you will know what type of investor ka. Pwede conservative, agressive, etc then may mga types of funds na nagfafall to each type. For example kun Conservative ka more on fixed income lang ang lalabas na choices na pwede mo iselect.

@aircool - the fund that you'll choose would depend on the following:

1.  your profile - low risk, mid-risk or aggressive
2.  investment horizon - short-term, mid-term, long-term... ang long term dito ay more than 10yrs

Now, BPI fund ba, Ayala fund or Odyssey Fund?

I would suggest that you stick with either BPI or Ayala Fund.  BPI funds are UITF type of funds.  Ayala Funds are MF type of funds.

Forget that Odyssey fund.

Balanced Fund are always good type of funds.  Best of both worlds.  Hindi man above 15% ang annual earnings, at least naglalaro naman between 8%-12%.  Not bad.

Sis, I suggest research mo sa google which BPI funds give the highest performance for 5 yrs, 3 yrs and YTD and from there dun ka magdecide. Bawal kasi yata magpost ng link dito.

I have ALFM Growth Fund and happy naman ako sa returns. Redeemed all funds from Odyssey Hi Con dahil sya ang kulelat among my 3 MFs and would replace it with Phil Stocks Index Fund.

a big deal kung wala.

so kung wala kang account. Magoopen ka pero hindi mo kailangan
pondohan.(Note some branches would still require you to maintain
a modest balance, mga 200 or 100 pero depende na rin sa pagiging
aggresibo mo at pwedeng zero balance talaga)

I made a study based on BDO Equity fund history. If u invest in their equity fund:
January 2, 2013 - ex 10000
Feb. 1, 2013 - 10746
Mar. 1, 2013 - 11335
Apr. 1, 2013 - 11801
Apr. 19 (latest) - 12128
Syempre taas baba yan when u look at it daily, pero if we are to believe the forecast na maganda ang Phil economy in the next few years, sigurado pa ang taas. As for me, I invested in fixed income fund, balanced fund and equity fund of BDO. So far, Im very happy with the returns.  :)

High Conv Equity kasi sis nasa Mining sector nakalaan most of their fund allocation.  This sector has not been performing well for several months na, so it's expected na mababa din ang returns.   Matatagalan pa bago kumita ng malaki.

mga sis, before you open any investments (UITFs or MFs), check the performance report so you would know the sector holdings of that particular Equity. ;)

Sa BDO UITF, 10K minimum investment. 30 days minimum holding period. Inquire ka sa BDO bank manager (although I was told not all BDO branches offer UITF), there are 3 kinds of UITF, depends on your preference & risk appetite
Fixed income fund (low risk, 10-14% history), Equity Fund (high risk, 30-35% history), Balanced Fund (combi of Fixed income & Equity, history 20-25%). Remember lang na there is risk involved in UITF, hindi ito parang time deposit or SDA na siguradong hindi bababa.
