im also investing for long term, mukhang 5-10 years i wouldnt need the amount i invested in uitf. sabi ng bank manager ko, stay put lang daw coz the market is undergoing "correction", usually bumababa daw before holidays.

Okay.

Or maybe Balance. Maybe it's good to open today?

actually your strategy will depend on your money kasi like my friend she put 1M and yung 1M nya may 600k ng dividends in around 1.3months ngayong bumabagsak mas maganda kung iwithdraw na niya kesa mawala pa yung 600k na dividends but kung lugi ka huwag mong ibebenta kasi magiging totoong loss na instead of paper loss. Now I would say huwag muna bumili for me wait after the election.

Pasali.

I'm new in investing. We have balanced and Equity sa BPI. Grabe in 2 weeks, bumagsak. Napaka gandang pagwelcome sa akin diba. hehe. Pero bumabawi na ulit. Sana magtuloy tuloy.

@cheese, looks like you didn't understand gab's answer.

The trust fee is already imputed in the NAV. i.e. the NAV
should have been 100.00 but because
of the fees, the reported NAV was 99.

So your 100k investment is not directly affected.

Note that this only applies to UITFs

MF do have the charges you are talking about.
They are called sales load.
They usually range from 1-2% of your investment.
And they have tiers, wherein if you have 1M in the fund,
the sales load would be lower.

And I forgot may VAT yan.

So if you invested in say FAMI Equity, they take out
2,240(2k is 2% of 100k and 240 is 12%VAT of 2k)

That's a imaginary computation btw. FAMI's lowest
tier is 2%, I think its lower for 100k investments.
