@andreil_19 sis para nga siyang installment plan.  EIP means Easy Investment Plan.

Pwede ka magopen ng EIP sa BDO kahit saang branch basta within your branch region para iwas charges.   Just like opening an account, you will be required to fill up several forms.  You can indicate how many times you want to be deducted, you can also choose dates, and the amount.  For as low as 1k every month ata, pwede na sis.    But, you will be issued a Confirmation of Participation (COP), like a certificate, once the market value of your accumulated contributions reaches 10K.

You must have missed my response earlier if you say that.

Yes, all funds under EIP with the exception of the money market fund
has a 10k initial and subsequent minimum investment.

But that's what the EIP is for.
Its a installment plan where the minimum is only 1k per month.

sis, surveys are meant to check if you're ready for a certain investment.

nasa iyo lang naman yan sis, if you want na dayain eh.   ;D  multiple questions lang naman kasi sis, you can choose the most aggressive response in every question.   but, are you emotionally ready when you see negatives on your portfolio, like when you lose some money na.   andyan kasi ang mismatch minsan.

how are your equity investments mga sis?

so after a year, my portfolio, bdo equity gained 27%, while bpi gained 13% .  hopefully next year, i could invest more on bdo equity.

@JLO,

Only bank deposits are insured under PDIC up to P500,000.00.

UITFs do not offer any insurance or guarantees that's why there is Risk Profile Assessment first to determine the client's risk appetite and identify the suitable UITFs based on the risk profile.

@jlo... agree ako with happy_pomelo... bank deposits (time, checking and savings) lang ang covered ng PDIC.
kaka-aral lang namin ng PDIC law sa class... yung explanation ng prof ko is that with these accounts, depositor and bank are in a debtor-creditor relationship. with money market, UITF and other funds... hindi ganito ang nature ng relationship so not covered by the law.

Mga Sis, pa-join po.  :)

You might want to check http://www.lipperleaders.com/index.aspx before investing.

They rate all types of investments. Makikita nyo agad kung anong funds ang performer talaga hindi lang ngayon but in the past too. Importante kasi na maconsider yung total return ng isang investment vehicle:

Quote
The Lipper Rating for Total Return denotes a fund that has provided superior total returns (income from dividends and interest as well as capital appreciation) when compared to a group of similar funds.

Based on research po yung results nila kaya di na tayo magpapagod magcompare isa-isa.  :)

So far, kapag Equity Funds po, ang outstanding performers ay (Rating for Total Return is 5, highest score possible):

-First Metro Save and Learn Equity Fund
-PhilEquity Fund
-United Equity Fund
-UnionBank Large-Cap Philippine Equity Portfolio

Kapag naman po Balanced Fund, ang outstanding performers ay:

-First Metro Save and Learn Balanced Fund
-United Balanced Fund

Kapag naman po Peso Bond Fund, ang outstanding performers ay:
-UnionBank Philippine Peso Bond Fund (medium term bonds)
-BDO Institutional Fixed Income Fund
-BDO Fixed Income Fund
-BPI Odyssey Peso Bond Fund
-BPI Odyssey Tax-Exempt Peso Fixed Income Fund
-BPI Institutional Fund

Kapag naman po Index Fund, ang outstanding performers ay:
-PhilEquity PSE Index Fund Inc.
-BPI Dollar Bond Index Fund

Kung less than 40 y.o. pa po tayo, equity funds and index funds pa po yung best investment vehicle para satin. We want to grow our nest eggs pa po kasi. We still have time to be aggressive investors. Later in life, kapag malapit na po tayo magretire, tsaka na po tayo kukuha ng mas maraming conservative na investment vehicles to preserve our assets.  :)

I hope this helps po.  :)

Good luck, mga Sis!  :)

^^This is helpful for additional info on funds that might be out there.  And there's a LOT!!!

Here's the list of UITF in the Philippines from Bloomberg: http://www.bloomberg.com/markets/funds/country/philippines/

Does anyone diversify their UITFs among various banks? Parang ang hirap naman mag-transact and mag-monitor kung iba-iba.  Personally, I only have 3 UITFs, 2 UITFs in US$ with Citibank (Odyssey Fund which is under BPI) and BPI and 1 Peso UITF also with BPI.  I didn't enroll under RSP, I just plan to add funds monthly through online subscription.

Hello happy_pomelo,

I had previously asked this to a blogger, and his answer is, if you dont find this a hassle, this is a form of diversification which is really good daw in terms of investing...

Hope that helps.  :D
