I haven't attended that many weddings to say that this is the worst na, but definitely bad experience pa din.

Nakasched ng wedding yung friend ko in a church in taguig ng 3:30 pm. Nakarating kami dun early but there was still an on-going wedding and by 3:30 naglalabasan pa lang mga tao sa church and nagpipicture-an pa. So about 3:45 na nakapasok yung mga bridesmaid and all.

And then nung nakapagmarch na ang bride and nasa harap na yung wedding couple, the priest was obviously irked and the first thing that he said was that late daw yung ikakasal. He went on for a little bit pa. May mass daw ng 6pm, so "by 5pm I need you to be GONE." As in with emphasis and taas boses yan ha. :|

Buti na lang the overall event was successful pa din and the bride (my friend) wasn't that affected.

This is was a wedding of an acquaintance. Take note that I never met this person 4 weeks before her wedding. So there she invited me and I thought Ok, i will go since the way she described how her wedding was going to be and that they spent like over 200K nok  (1.2M php)for the preps plus there will be like 200 guests coming and I besides it has been a long time since I attended a wedding. I also found out that some of my friends which she also has never met before, that they got invited too that day they met her. Another thing to note here is that she casually yet specifically told us that they wish for monetary gifts instead.

OK so come the wedding day itself and at the church, everything went OK. But the come the reception, O.M.G. the place was so small for 200 guests... we were like cramped like sardines. as in imagine, the chairs were stools and there were literally 2 inches in between them. And if you wish to stand up, you have to ask the 3 persons on you back to move. Ok fine... the space was horrible, we can take it, my friends and i told ourselves.

Come food service.... que horror... there were only 4 trays there containing the following: Rice, roasted pork, embutido and mixed veggies. To make it worse, there were servers who will portion the food and place it in your plate. So each person got like 1 cup of rice, 1 small piece of roasted pork ( 2x2 inches, to be exact), 2 pcs of thinly sliced embutido (diameter of 1.5 inches) and 1 spoonful of mixed veggies. Oh di ba, karinderia ang peg! And for dessert we thought we will be tasting the wedding cake, but no! All we got were a couple of kutsintas. Sana kung stellar yung mga lasa ng food but it really tasted like tinipid. I mean, fine, nasa Europe tayo, maybe the white people won't notice but hello, 75% of your guests are Filipinos. We were really disappointed... She got all the perks OK, but the food is the most important that you get right.

Another thing my friends and I realised after, we felt like we only got invited for the gifts they will be receiving. Imagine, if there are 200 guests and each person gave an average of 1.5 nok (9k php) imagine how much they got. We thought about this because the bride was boasting that they accumulated a total of 300k nok (1.8M php).

Until now, we have not received thank you cards or even a simple sms or pm of thank you. Oh well... that was the most expensive karinderia food my friends and I have ever eaten. hehe

Hi, stacies83221.

Wow, uber grabe yun experience mo na iyan.  I was quite wondering why ganun yun nangyari if they really spent that much for it.

2. Hindi nakapag-march yun dalawang Ninang. Late kasi dumating yun hair and makeup artists, tapos yun ibang kamaganak namin ni hubby biglang nainggit at nagpaayos na din. Kaloka. Yun ibang dapat ayusan tuloy hindi natapos. :(

we're really having a bad experience with our coordinator.
barely 4 mos before the wedding we hired a full wedding coordinator.
couple already booked reception, caterer, invites,  church, photographer.
so we had a meeting to sign the contract with her. paid half of her fee w/c is 18k.
(she was actually referred by a friend's friend)
she gave us a worksheet to fill up.( suppliers... etc etc)
2nd meeting was when she accompanied us to the church, caterer, reception venue.
barely 2 mos, they don't give regular updates. we're the ones asking them what the status of this and that.... the program details... she doesn't take our calls, not replying our texts. so we email her, and it takes her so long to reply. we voiced out our discontent with her and of course she has to save herself with bs excuses.
filled up the list of guests for rsvp due on Dec 19, but until now Dec 17 no updates yet if they called already.
about the program details, asked her for games, she suggested Name that Tune !!!
BS!

on my sister's wedding I was her MOH. Kaya minsan di inaallow ng church yung ring bearer below 7yo is because masyado pa playful ang age na iyon. me and my sis was very problematic kasi naiwala ng ring bearer yung wedding ring nila sa sobrang kalikutan. As in hanap to the max lahat ng abay. Paano na lang yung ceremony without the rings.

purple.strawberry, that's not new and is always the risk pag busy church schedule.

stacies83221, if it was me babawasan ko yung monetary gift kasi di naman maayos ang treatment sa guests ::)

harley18, yung sa make-up wala ba list si HMUA kung sino ang priority or included sa package?

monskie, is your wedding December also? Busy month kasi nila though if your wedding is like days or weeks away, that is unacceptable already.

imprincessfiona, ring bearers should only have mock rings.

I mean, importanteng ma makeup-an sila pamangkin, pero mas importanteng mauna sila!

@j.adore I understand that they have to stick to the schedule, I think the way they handled it lang is very rude.

worst wedding for me, and for other relatives was my older guy cousin's wedding back in 1994...as in up to now pag napapag usapan ang mga kasal kasal, di pwedeng mawala itong kasal ni kuya sa usapan....nagfaflashback sa lahat un horror....

ganito: un older guy cousin ko was then an OFW sa S.Korea, so pag uwi nya bago kasal cya ang gastos lahat sa wedding, which is ok lang...then nag share pa un parents nya kasi nadyahe sila sa family ng bride....

(maka-react ako masyado affected no?)

worst wedding so far is my bff's wedding in 2008. Bridesmaid pa naman ako that time. we paid for our gowns. My friend (the bride) wanted a custom made gown.. so nagpagawa siya but on the week of the wedding.. naglaho na parang bula yung mananahi.

Sa reception naman, since friend namin si bride.. we,her friends, helped with setting up the reception. So basically mga preparations sa kasal puro sa bride's side. even the invitations/ tarpaulin. But on the morning of the event.. it started raining..and dahil walang tent na naka set, (despite our advice to put one sa rooftop) binaba lahat ng set-up sa reception... the groom's side parang walang concern at wala man lang tumulong para ibaba mga seats and tables...at dahil dun ayun-boom, mega away si Bride with the groom's relatives.Nagsisigawan pa sila ng sister ng groom.  And because of that akala namin hindi na tuloy ang kasal... but the Groom really loved my friend so he continued kahit MIA na relatives niya. Napilitan naman umattend ang Mom niya to somehow support her son. After the wedding since reception was set-up on bride's side.. wala umattend na relatives ni Groom and wala ng kahit ano ginawa kundi kainan nalang. wala ng program na nangyari. parang naging civil marriage nalang yung event..kahit church wedding talaga yun. hay nako.

Sayang ang effort at pagod. Nagyayari 'to sa province/barrio then magkakatay ng ilang baboy tapos sila sila lang magluluto. >:(

mga sis share ko lang din... just wanted to emphasize talaga the importance of taking care of all the church requirements before your wedding. I did not witness the event personally but my tita did.  My auntie kase nag se-serve sa parish church namen and she witnessed a 'wedding' na hindi tinuloy ng pari  :( It turns out kulang kulang ang requirements ng couple so the priest decided not to push thru with the wedding :( nagwawala na daw yung bride and nag-iiiyak.  The mom of the bride naman nagmamakaawa sa priest pero the priests wouldn't budge hindi daw nya ikakasal yung couple.

The mom said, the couple did not have enough time, kinain daw yung oras nila sa pakikipag meet sa kanilang coordinator.  Then the priest said, may time kayo makipag meet sa coordinator nyo then you should have made time na asikasuhin ang church requirements. My tita did not know na what happened afterwards.  The priest refused to officiate the wedding  :o :-[

oh that is just so awful! we'll be bringing down our documents for the church in august (our scheduled trip home) just so we can make sure that if there will still be some missing requirements then we have enough time to do something about it before december

^^The priest could have just proceeded with the ceremony and allowed the couple to celebrate mass and declared their love for each other in front of all their friends and loved ones. He could have talked to the couple in private and explain that this cannot and should not be considered a wedding then forego with the signing of the marriage contract at that time. Then the couple, after fixing all the documents, can just go through the official ceremony at some other time in a more intimate setting. He could have spared the couple and their families from the embarrassment.
