Recommend a good band, singer, etc for reception (Part 2)

One of my coworkers is a DJ on the side pala, he performs at Distillery every Saturdays so siya na.

Don't know if it's off-topic, but would anyone know a good but affordbale choir for the ceremony? Is it possible to get one for 5000 lang? Haha.

We got 3rd avenue band. And they're in high range pala compare to other bands.    I didn't realize that they're expensive coz I'm so hook on them that I didn't even bother to look/inquire on other bands which is a big mistake! Ang nagparealize saken ay si h2b pa, which is hagulgol talaga ako sa iyak dahil sa sobrang guilty.    I feel so sorry! I can't turn back coz I already gave a downpayment. But I promised to h2b that they are worth it. I made a deal pa na pag hindi niya nagustuhan ang performance ng band, I'll give back to him the amount we paid. lol! (pangpalubag loob)

We are looking for a DJ rin for my friend's wedding na 6k pababa ang price, yung tipong nasa gitna ng stage and acting like nasa bar talaga. Someone referred Jonie Dre. Sa weddings daw talaga siya, pang-afterparty daw sana. Nagscout kami sa mga bars like Palladium, pricey sila magbigay ng presyo since international dj ang naabutan namin.
We booked Infinite Soul Acoustic for our wedding naman. Affordable yet magaling magperform. Gustong gusto sila ng mga guests and relatives ko.  Sa choir naman, narinig ko na Anima Choir sa wedding ng cousin ko pero carry naman ang price, hindi nga lang ganun ka-affordable.

hi mga sis.. push ko pa rin The Edralins na band.. hahahha!!! they may not be as popular as the other bands constantly being mentioned, since they are Baguio based. They used to be called The Spaceflower the later on The Spaceflower Show when their genre was ska.. But since some of the members concentrated on their family and careers or moved to another country thus having four members left.

i have a question.. ilang songs dapat ang nasa playlist ng band? may standard number ba?

kase our band gave me a copy of their repertoire and we narrowed the list down already, pero feeling ko ang dami pa din.. kaso pag pinipili ko na what to remove, wala na ko mapili lahat na gusto ko kantahin nila. haha.

nakaattend kase ako ng wedding one time and medyo nabitin ako sa songs ng band, Infinite Soul Acoustic and they're really good [textspeak!] ang konti ng songs nila. ang dami kasing adlibs ng emcee and messages and all so parang konti lang talaga yung moment na kakanta sila. they didn't even sing nung kumakain yung mga tao..

Di nga? Kelan yan, I can ask Monica about it if true since close ko naman leader nila. Also, halos 3 times ko na napanood sa wedding ng friends ko (including my own wedding ) yang Infinite Soul Acoustic pero never naman nabitin sa songs and part ng song guidelines nila yung set habang kumakain mga guests . Mga 40 or 50 songs pa nga binigay sakin sa guidelines nila. Baka hindi silent cueing yung dinner/lunch set kaya di sila makakanta.

^recently lang like 3 days ago yung wedding. Sila din kumanta sa ceremony which was nice. Ang naging setup kase sa reception was sit down buffet and while waiting for the bride and groom, kumain na yung mga tao, wala dun yung band. They (infinite soul) were only there nung lumipat na sa pavilion yung mga guests for the party/program which is cocktails and wine na lang sineserve nun. Kaya parang nakulangan ako sa songs nung band, kase ang ineexpect ko is kakanta sila while the guests are eating like most of the weddings i've been to. Tapos a few songs pa hindi kabisado nung guy singer yung lyrics kaya parang nagmamumble lang sya pag di nya alam. Pero maganda boses nya don't get me wrong. Very particular kase ako sa music and playlist for our wedding kaya napansin ko yung mga ganun. Hehe.

Anyway, thanks for sharing yours..'wala pa kase kami contract from our wedding band since matagal pa naman kami, hehe pero kausap ko na sila re: song list. So far kelangan pa namin mag trim down ng songs kase 50+ songs pa yung naiwan after namin magfilter, haha

Sis im also an infinite soul acoustic bride. Ganyan ganyan din nakalagay sa contract namin of infinite soul. iI can also ask monica bout it, for sure either because of the program yan hindi dahil sa band. i also watched them before sa wedding kaforum natin and lahat naman ng nasa contract nasunod nila, and they sounded great talaga. Kachat ko sya today about the list of songs, araw araw mga weddings nila recently nakakaproud sila.

Oo nga sayang naman yun haha! Update sis nakachat ko kanina si Monica, isa lang daw yang experience nila kaya alam nya agad kung saan. Balay Indang daw yan kasi bawal daw talaga tumugtog sa kinainang area ng guests. She told me it was part of the plan ng couple and coordinator kasi di raw pwedeng tumugtog sa loob ng venue. Nagulat nga sila naging Intermission number + party songs lang daw ang set nila sa reception na first time lang daw nila naexperiece.    Dapat pala inaalam din talaga restrictions ng mga venue para di masira mga plans sa wedding.

^We got Coffee Break Island. They were amazing. They're reggae/ska. They're really good, not the usual show band, because their songs are different. But they do covers. The first song in our after party was "Can't Take My Eyes Off You." Haha. My husband grabbed my hand and we started dancing on the dance floor. In front of everybody! Pretty soon everybody was on the dance floor with us. Our parents and titos and titas dancing with our friends. It was the best sight.  Ours was more ska than reggae, but they do reggae really well also.

We recently got our full wedding video and I'll be raving about infinite soul acoustic! During our wedding kasi blurry na lahat ng nangyayari although alam ko magaling sila and feedback na din ng guests pero I never had the chance to really listen to their performance. So sa full wedding video namin may part na as in na-cover yung buong performance nila pati yung first dance namin na sila din kumanta and grabe as in super galing! Sana nga lahat ng ginamit na background music yung live performance nila hehe, and sana na-cover din yung pagkanta nila ng bridal march ko.

^^yup pareho sila magaling, our music kasi for the first dance is a duet 'two is better than one' by boys like girls. ang alam ko forte nung guy is rnb pero maganda pa din yung version nila nung song even if alternative-pop yung song. But ofcourse monica is superb, swabe ng performance nya and yes hindi maingay

May ibang bands akong naencounter before , they told me may additional charge if wala sa playlist nila and need pang aralin mga gusto mong kanta. The one we hired walang additional charge kahit magbigay kami ng list of songs na wala sa playlist nila. Kahit ilan pa raw irequest namin basta lang daw isend ahead of time.

We booked libante strings for our wedding on dec 20, 2014. Last week i sent them our tentative list of songs which included two songs that are NOT in their repertoire. I asked them kung pwede ba nila i play yung songs na yun na wala sa repertoire nila. Mrs libante looked for free music sheets, mag cha charge lang sila kung kailangan pa maghanap ng mag aarrange which would have cost us 500 per song. Pero dahil nakakita siya ng free music sheets for those two songs, she told us that they can play those songs for free. im so happy because they agreed to my request even though the songs are not in their list!

Okay lang sis. Pero before i send the rates, ask ko muna saan venue ng wedding mo? Yung mga musicians kasi have different rates/quotations depending on the location. Also paki pm na din yung email add. 

We booked sitio elena, located in cainta, rizal for our wedding. Medyo mataas ang rate na binigay sa amin. Pero ang pagkakaalam ko mas mura kung bandang manila mismo.
