^^ I use squash to sub pasta. Common din sa paleo community to use zucchini. :)

For milk naman, almond milk ako. Best if you make your own. But who has time to milk almonds? I use Silk. Sometimes, Almond Breeze or Pacific. Syempre it's not strictly paleo na because may additives. Pwede rin coconut milk. Mas like ko lang almond milk.

As for biscuits, you have to bake your own na to make sure the ingredients are paleo-approved. :)

I use Silk din, Vanilla flavored almond milk. But I try not to indulge to drinking.

So far, I have lost quite some fats kasi dati 29 inches yung waist line ko now I'm down to 27. Tapos na wala na din craving ko. Di pa ako nakakapagexercise nyan ah hehe. Pero hopefully, I can squish in sa schedule ko na mag exercise kahit weekends para I can totally call myself living healthly. :D

^great work poetry :-) Paleo is difficult in the beginning pero the more you do it, second nature na rin to shop for the good stuff. I just started making my own broth kasi nabigyan ako ng slow cooker for my wedding. It makes broth so much easier and less nakakatamad.

I used to do nut milks pero not anymore. Hindi ko na masyado hinahanap

^^ sis beachgirl, you can use a regular stock pot over low heat to make a bone broth. Better kasi sa bones to be boiled gently, kung sa pressure cooker baka hindi ma-extract yung minerals? But I don't know, I haven't tried.

Thanks sisters for your replies. :)

Almond milk, yep i love that. I buy silk and almond breeze brand. :)

In fairness i don't feel hungry even if i'm not eating rice. And i'm happy to lose weight. I used to be size 23 now 28 from 32. Happy nako pag nag 25 ako. I'm also running thrice a day  for 30 mins for 2 weeks pa lang since hubby and i got the threadmill.

I have to find that squash pasta here in metro manila though.

Paleo is still the best! :) I get up early to prep my food for the day. Today's packed lunch & snacks:

1. baked egg & bacon cups
2. baked spicy chicken breast wrapped in bacon
3. apple & orange

And tonight, I have a supermarket date. Naenjoy ko mag grocery since nag paleo ako. Please post din kayo ng mga baon nyo so I can get ideas. :)

I made these for dinner last night and both dishes were lovely:

Smoky Roasted Mushrooms
http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/food-network-kitchens/smoky-roasted-mushrooms-recipe.html?_escaped_fragment_=#lightbox-recipe-image

Toss 2 pounds whole mixed mushrooms, 1 1/2 tablespoons olive oil, and salt and pepper to taste in a bowl. Spread on a baking sheet and roast at 425 degrees F, stirring a few times, until tender and browned, 30 to 35 minutes. Cook 3 thinly sliced garlic cloves and 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika in butter until soft; toss with the mushrooms. Sprinkle with chopped parsley and salt.

Hot and Juicy Shrimps with Spicy Garlic & Ginger Sauce
http://www.melangery.com/2012/08/hot-and-juicy-shrimp-with-spicy-garlic.html

Ingredients:

Â» 1 lb. medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
Â» 4 garlic cloves, finely minced
Â» 1/2 tsp crushed dried mint, or fresh
Â» 1 tsp. red pepper flakes
 Â» 1 tsp. sweet paprika
Â» 2 tsp finely minced ginger
Â» 1 to 2 Tbs. fresh lemon juice
Â» 1 small red onion, diced
Â» Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Â» 1 green onion scallions, chopped, for serving
 Â» lettuce for serving

Directions:

In a bowl, combine the shrimp with the mint, red pepper flakes, garlic, ginger, sweet paprika, red onion, salt and pepper until well coated, cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate for two hours, stirring once during this time.

In a large sauté pan over medium heat, warm the olive oil (optional). Add the shrimp with spice mixture, and cook, stirring and turning the shrimp, until they just become opaque, about one minute. Lower the heat to simmer and add the lemon juice. Cook over low heat for about 3 minutes more. Sprinkle with the scallions and serve over lettuce leaves.

^sis, eat more non-starchy veggies :-) Just because we are generally a low carb natural diet, doesn't mean na super dami yung kinakain natin na meat. Actually, sa umpisa lang yan na you feel you need a lot of meat. For example, when I started Paleo, I had to eat half a chicken with veg para lang mabusog. Now super nabubusog na ako sa half chicken breast lang, with veggies. And it won't be a long time. My consumption of meat lessened as early as the third day on this way of eating.

^ I try to always have the following at home, or at least, most of them:

cinnamon, cinnamon bark, nutmeg, chili flakes, cayenne, garlic powder, all spice, paprika, clove, vanilla extract, fresh basil, dried basil, oregano, mint leaves, rosemary, parsley, thyme

romaine lettuce, spring onions, spinach, parsley, bell peppers, mushrooms, lemons, garlic, onions, ginger, tomatoes, sweet potatoes, banana, apples, oranges, avocado, berries

eggs, bacon, chicken breast/shrimps/beef cubes/steak/fish fillet

homemade almond butter, almond milk, coconut oil, EVOO, pepper, himalayan sea salt, honey, stevia, cacao nibs

(If you plan to bake paleo desserts, you might need to have almond flour/coconut flour, coconut milk, and coconut cream readily available.)

Usually, yan lang paikot ikot na ginagamit ko sa cooking. Yung spices you can store sa kitchen lang and they won't go bad agad. The veggies and meats, I buy on Sundays. Iniisip ko kung anong meats ba gusto ko kainin that coming week tapos I get just enough for a few days, so important na nakaplan na mga kakainin ko. Ayoko kasi na iniistore sila ng matagal. Yung mga leafy veggies, ewan ko ba, bilis malanta or matuyo sakin. I'll buy extra ingredients na lang if may recipe ako na gusto try out. Simple lang naman kasi mga kinakain ko. Vegetable omelette and bacon in the morning. Spiced baked chicken/shrimps or steak + simple salad for lunch or dinner. Or mga grilled na lang. Ayoko ng complicated.

^^ me naman, I stick to the regular Filipino pantry plus some imported ones if I want to do a special recipe. Most of the time, I cook without a recipe following Paleo principles.

thank you sis very much in list ko mga important herbs and spices na you mention , medyo mahihirapan lang ako hanapin siguro yung almond flour / coconut flour kc never heared ko sya =)

sa veggies sis may nabasa ako para hindi agad matuyo yung tupperwear lagyan mo sya ng paper towel sa loob bago mo ilagay ang mga leafy veggies at sa top before you close it at wag mo sya ilalagay sa plastic na nabibili sa store matutuyo talaga sila. sa mushroom naman sa paper bag na brown yun pambalot ng pandesal like that wag din sa plastic . yung leafy veggies ko tumatagal sya kahit 2 weeks sa ref basta wag lang sya basa sa loob I used paper towel sa green onions no need sa ref sya ilagay lang sya sa baso na may tubig parang decoration sa kusina may grow pa sya sa asparagus naman before mo sya ilagay sa ref ilagay mo sya sis sa baso na may cold water cut the bottom muna para ma absorb ng asparagus yung water then cover plastic sa top ng asparagus parang flower base na may small water inside your ref. it will last 3 weeks sa ref sya sis.

sis before you put the veggies wag mo syang huhugasan before putting it sa tupperwear na may paper towel ha. wash mo nalang veggies mo kapag gagamitin mo na sya. para mas clean yung water mo sis to wash veggies put 6 tablespoon of vinegar makikita mo tangal lahat ang dumi tapos veggies looks clean after.
