I'm also trying to get my man try it out but i don't think he's gonna give up rice and adobo that easily! I don't eat rice pero i love making and eating bread. I can still make my own rolls but with almond flour nga lang. And the smell of coconut oil reminds me of the rice cakes my grandma used to make lol! And since my cousin is in the Philippines right now, I'll ask her to buy me spanish sardines in olive oil. Its so expensive here kasi.

I'll be posting here what Paleo meals i had for the day. For dinner tonight, i steamed some cauliflower ( substitute for rice/ mashed potato), wild salmon that's pan fried with olive oil and a squeeze of lemon. I also made ice cream from coconut milk. Yummmmm!! Fiance loves the ice cream, not so much for the cauliflower!

^ That's a good idea. Sometimes ang hirap mag-maintain if you run out of food ideas. Anyway, dito puro sa Deli at sa Rustan's lang ako nakakabili, ang mahal.

breakfast for today: 1 hard-boiled egg from cage-free chicken, 1 leafy lettuce with almond butter ( i know  ;D ) and mixed-berry smoothie, made of coconut milk and frozen berries.

lunch: about 1 cup lean ground beef mixed with some herbs and spices, eaten with leafy lettuce

dinner: cobb salad without dressing, sugar-free lemonade, and 4 small squares of dark chocolate.

i love nomnompaleo.com, it's where i get most of my recipes too. whenever I get hungry, i just fill up 1 leafy lettuce with deboned mackerel or salmon.

i've eased my way into the Paleo lifestyle and I can say it's the only "diet" that is sustainable for me and hubby.  we never felt starved and I have achieved my ideal weight...and still losing some more... :P

Before Paleo: 56 kg (mostly counting calories thru myfitness pal which left me feeling deprived)
Now: 50.8 kg at lowest
Height: 5'2

im not sure when I actually started this diet, but definitely less than 3 months pa lang...

only downside i can think of is you have to make time to cook and prepare your meals! but oh so worth it! :)

Hello fellow cave girls! :) I haven't been keepin track on how many days/ weeks since I've gone paleo but I know I started late december. Anyway, I've lost 10lbs cause of paleo. A little cheating here and there but I make it up by adding another 30 minutes to my daily run. And I've been on a salmon frenzy lately, my freezer has nothing but salmon lol. Excellent source of omega3 naman eh.

great information sissies! been looking for more info regarding Paleo diet, I follow people in Instagram who are doing these as well but im gearing towards vegetarian-vegan diet and trying not to eat much lean meat but must admit I love steak! I love salmon too but was scared by a friend not to eat too much because of the mercury content (coz I love it raw). Anyhoo, thanks for the information! I will def try this :) :D

Paleo loves meat lol! But since I started Paleo, I havent been consuming a lot of meat, fish lang talaga and veggies. As soon as I got the hang of it, ganun lang pala kadali. I was also thinking of going vegetarian but anything made out of soy is not good for the body. And andaming soy substitute para sa mga vegetarians. About salmon, I only buy wild-caught salmon, never farm-raised. Hindi ko lang alam kung ano ang pinapakain dun.. Tulad sa mga chicken raised in a very cramped chicken house or whatever it's called

I'm back to Paleo. :)

My husband naman does not like meat, he likes tofu, so nilulutuan ko siya ng tofu. Pero ako fish and hopefully veggies. Mahirap kasi ang veggies nabubulukan ako, unlike meat asa freezer lang.

My taste significantly shifted nung tumanda na ako. :)) Dati, di ko like ang fish, now kine crave ko na at mas gusto ko na siya kainin kahit over chicken. Dati chicken lover talaga ako.

allowed ba ang quinoa sa paleo?

It's a grain. So if you're strictly Paleo, then NO.  ;)

What you can eat with Paleo:
Lean Meat- grass-fed preferred
Fish- wild-caught please
Nuts & Seeds- not Peanuts though, peanut is a legume
Veggies
Fruits- eat moderately.
Clarified Butter, Healthy Fat, Eggs

What's not Paleo:
Grains
Dairy
Legumes
Anything that's processed!
Starch
Alcohol
Vegetable oil lol
Anything with SOY

yep, thinking about downloading the nomnom paleo app.

i'm totally in on this. i went on atkins 6 months ago and lost 30 lbs now i'm moving on to paleo. it's almost like atkins where it's really low carb except you can eat fruits. i'll go easy on the fruit part. the dishes at the nomnom site look tasty.

what i've noticed is, with this way of eating it's no longer so difficult to eat less. sayang i'm not counting calories anymore (such an outdated way of dieting, completely devoid of proper knowledge) but if i were i'm sure i wouldn't be able to consume all my alloted calories and still feel full. parang right now i'm more concerned with the flavor and quality of the food over the quantity. and now bread and rice and pasta seem so icky.

i'm actually going on a gluten free diet and this paleo thing fits the bill perfectly. but the thing is you have to cook your meals. which isn't hard to do. takes maybe an hour a day, just cook all your food for the day.

What I do is I usually cook a big batch then i just portion it ( at least 8oz per meal), and freeze it. I just made palabok made with veggie noodles instead of rice noodles. I was able to make 12 servings, enough for a week. The sauce is homemade and I used a Paleo friendly patis. :)
