I just started making soap a week ago. I use brambleberry calculater for my lye and water measurement with 5%lye discount.

I didnt attend seminar. Just read books. Check out soap crafting in amazon. Good book. Meron na rin mga recipe dun.

Sis which branch ng Daiso Japan ka nakakita ng molds?  Would you mind sharing pics of that here?  Nahihirapan kasi ako maghanap ng molds, malayo yung Soap Scentral sa akin and I've tried going to Daiso, Japan Home, 88 Store, Gourdo's, pati department stores pero wala ako makitang mold that's big enough for a normal-sized bar of soap.

^when you mix caustic soda and distilled water, this is called lye solution. suppliers of caustic soda are mainly located in San francisco del monte qc.

Hi guys,

where do you source your palm oil? The ones in the supermarket kasi are too processed na and sometimes may added vit a and whatnot pa. Palm oil should be solid in room temperature pero sa supermarket very liquid pa din.

Same din with coconut oil. Where do you get your supply?

Ano ang cause ng separation ng oil at lye or yung pag curdle? is it over mixing or yung fragrant oils?

^it's a ratio and proportion thing.

^^It could also be a mixing issue - like a false trace. And yes, fragrance oil can be a culprit too (in separation, curdling, ricing, and seizing).

I usually save the fragrance for last. But when i'm using a new kind of fragrance oil, i mix it with the base oils before pouring in the lye solution. I find this helps me lessen the chance of the soap mixture acting up.

Minsan din sis sa temperature...usually cause nung ricing.

I get my supplies from soapscentral or dk laboratories. I just searched them on olx.

You can get lye from dk lab. They ship thru LBC. I get my supplies from them.

May alam ba kayo kung saan makakabili ng sodium carbonate (not sodium bicarbonate) and castile soap?

^sis, check mo sa groceries kung merong Arm n Hammer Washing Soda.  sodium carbonate  a.k.a. soda ash a.ka. Washing soda.

As for castile soap (pure castile), I only found sotruenaturals(.)com. Ano ang hinahanap mo? Liquid or bar soap?

I'm interested in soap making in fact i have a tendency to follow accounts on ig na gumagawa ng soap. Tuwabg tuwa kasi ako. And some day kahit maliit na lagayan lang i want to be able to make soaps too

Mga sis ask ko sana if branded ang caustic soda? Kasi nag search ako sa sulit. Made in china and taiwan ang binebenta nila. I dont know if its safe. :/ is it okay?

Interested to make soaps kaso ayoko na magstart from scratch ng Cold/Hot pressed. Alam nyo ba kung saan nakakabili ng Melt and Pour soaps? May nakita ako kaso glycerin lang. Wanna try other variants. TIA!

^Thanks for replying sis. Onga eh, isang supplier ng clear glycerin lang nakita ko. Gusto ko sana yung creamy variants na may goat's milk etc like yung mga binebenta sa brambleberry.
