May naka-try na ba ng Philosophy serums?

I'm contemplating on these two:
When Hope is Not Enough Facial Firming Serum
When Hope is Not Enough omegas 3, 6, 9

Check mo skinceuticals or cellex-c. Medyo mahal nga lang. may maganda din from Amazon na mura lang, NuFountain ang brand, ginagawa lang nila when you order, pero good for about 3 months lang siya after you open kasi nag-ooxidize and pag may tinge of amber na ang vitamin c, hindi na siya ok gamitin. I swear dito nagsimula mabawasan pagka-oily ng skin ko.

Hindi Ali, feeling lang I have problem skin kasi. Since bata pa ako. Siguro since 12 ako, naka 12-15 dermas na ako! So I decided to take matters into my own hands and do research. So far natutulungan ko din naman ng husto sarili ko

Naku sis, to correct a derma, one only need to be better informed. And best din to research in advance when you see any doctor, it helps a lot to ask the right questions, alam ng doctor na hindi ka pwede paikutin lang. Karamihan ng derma ngayon nagnenegosyo na lang eh, hindi na actual professionals. Hindi ako nagtitiwala sa lahat ng dermas, because like I said above, I've seen several na, and well-known dermas at that, and out of all of them, I can say only 3 are reliable. At apparently hindi lang dito sa Pilipinas ganyan, kahit sa States maraming nagrereklamo sa dermas doon, mas "safe" lang sila sa pagbibigay ng prescriptions kasi may legal implications, unlike here na ang mga Rx products ay pwede bilhin OTC.

For enlarged pores, look for the following ingredients. Unfortunately, wala masyadong local options available, but I added some that could work na din.

1. Salicylic Acid/BHA - 2% and up. This helps clear the pores to make them look smaller. Pag blocked kasi may tendency for pores to look enlarged
Stridex Pads - not a serum per se, but a very good toner for pore clearing. (http://www.stridex.com/max.asp)
Paula's Choice RESIST BHA 9 - haven't tried but it has very good reviews. High % of BHA can work well for imperfections that do not react to the regular 2% dose. (https://www.paulaschoice.com/product/resist-bha-9/what-is-new) Meron din silang 2% liquid that can be used as daily toner but I find na it feels oily on the skin.
Alba Acne Dote (Available a Healthy Options) - the toner feels nice on the skin and does not irritate like traditional SA products.

2. Vitamin A/Tretinoin/Retinol/Retinoic Acid - this speeds up exfoliation process of the outer layer of the skin, and also promotes collagen growth underneath. It plumps up the skin kaya pores look smaller as well.
Vitamin A Growth Factor Serum - I get this from my derma, an alternative would be to use tretinoin cream every night

3. Niacinamide - this promotes skin repair at cellular level. Can also be used with tret to enhance its effects.
Nia24 Rapid Exfoliating Serum - expensive but feels lightweight and mattifies the skin. (http://www.nia24.com/ecc/prd.cfm?id=12)
Olay Regenerist Serum - not as great as NIA24, but can help. I prefer the unscented version available in the US.

As for moisturizer, if you have oily skin, skip it na lang or use it as needed. When I use Olay Regenerist, I apply it at night and apply the night cream after since medyo dehydrated na skin ko. But when I use serums in the morning, I just follow with sunblock.

Haven't tried it sis, pero maganda din daw. Hindi pa ako willing mag-shell out ng masyadong malaki sa Vit C Serums kasi so far NuFountain pa lang ang hindi naka-irritate ng skin ko.

I use Perricone Pore Minimizing as lotion now.

When I followed the Cathy Valencia protocol -- the retinoin creams helped.
But I stopped after 2 years coz my face was looking unnatural banat na.  Hello.  Dapat young, not like my Lola's preserved face (but she is beautiful still but well, preserved, hehe).

^hehe, ako naman I follow my derma's protocol for 3 months and pag medyo ok na skin ko, i lessen applications to every other day hanggang twice a week na lang ang strict regimen. Ayaw ko din ng masyadong banat ang face and wary ako sa implications ng hydroquinone use, na usually prescribed with obagi and obagi system-type regimens. By doing this, hindi din ako na-iimune. If I do the regimen for 3 straight days, peel na ulit skin ko.

sis whos your derma? where do you buy the growth serum? is it from Dr. Javellana?

Dahil kay sis wickedwitchofthewest napabili ako ng acne dote sa healthy options and i can say na effective sya.

Back to topic: sis which olay regenerist serum are you referring? I checked amazon, ang dami palang variants nun

^I'm glad acne dote worked for you! As for regenerist serum, I use a frangrance free variant I get from the states. I think may local counterpart siya but with fragrance:

sis Caren and sis honeybunny: Do you use acne dote as a moisturizer? Akala ko kasi dati spot treatment lang yun for pimples.

^may spot treatment sila and they also have a moisturizer, if I remember correctly. I've only used the cleanser and toner.
