Im still thinking if buy pa ko mbp kasi next yr ipapasa na sakin ng sis ko yung mbp nya.

Mahirap naman ata i-compare ang laptop sa PC kasi ang PC naman marami ka talaga mau-upgrade dun. Like my brother's PC eh mas malakas talaga pero ayaw ko sa PC dahil ayaw ko mamroblema sa kaka-update ng virus software at mag-scan.

Yung sa USB, di ko alam kung binago na pero sa MBP ko 3 ang slot. 2 sa left, 1 sa right.

he built his pc from scratch eh, didnt come in a set.
i'll ask when he's around. all i know is i7 na sya.

depends on saan mo sya gagamitin. if heavy gaming, i suggest PC nalang.

yan nga hirap sa mac, you need to shell out talaga. and less ang customization na pwede. i only bought one kasi sawang -sawa na ko magparepair ng pc, yung 'crown' kasi ng ac adapter yung laging nasisira. at least yung port ng magsafe, sturdy

what model is this and when was this released?  i looked at the site and the latest one shows 1 usb port on the left and another one on the right.  other slots are firewire, magsafe, ethernet, and another one i cant discern, not familiar with the logo. isa pang nakakainis sa mga mac/apple products papatak patak ang upgrades

my friend who is a director and video editor upgraded hers to i7 and its significantly faster, specially pagrender ng 3d. but since i dont do much of video editing solve na ko sa i5 on my mpb

ah ok. nacurious lang ako like to what extent how poor mac graphics are and since ayun i guess you are a heavy gamer pc's are definitely more flexible and versatile naman talaga lalo if assembled it'll really come out cheaper and better vs mac specs.

@heatherette yeah yun din reason ko why i switched napagod ako sa mga viruses ng windows and even if the specs on mine are lower pa than my old lappy mas mabilis pa rin sya when i work on graphics for some reason.

I dont think pc and mac are comparable. Nung nagdedecide ako dati what computer to buy and tinatanong ko yung difference nung mac and windows, they're having a hard time to compare kasi iba daw talaga eh. Pero sa ibang bansa mas gusto nila mac kasi yung hardware at software galing sa iisang brand lang.

^Yes at lalong hindi comparable ang PC sa laptop. Iba kasi talaga specs nila. Basta matagal na kong Windows user nung lumipat ako ng Mac at di na talaga ako babalik sa Windows.

I'm never going back to Windows PC. One of the reasons I like Mac is its interface. Hindi nakakaloka, unlike PC (or it's just me).

^ @Heatherette: A laptop is a PC for mobile use. i guess the proper term you're looking for is a "Desktop PC". i was talking about PCs (in this case, Windows, Linux, Ubuntu, whatever OS have you that is not a Mac) in general. [i.e. "hindi comparable ang desktop pc sa laptop" and "hindi comparable and mac sa pc"]

to each their own i still love both my (Windows) PC and Mac they have different functions for me. The Mac i prefer to lug around because less vulnerable to repairs and i know where  and how to have it repaired if ever. i virtually cannot survive without the other.

Ang sa akin lang hindi mo pwede i-compare ang DESKTOP PC sa Mac laptop kasi iba talaga ang capacity nila. It's like comparing apples to oranges. Magkaiba talaga sila. Kung ico-compare mo ang Windows-based laptop sa Mac laptop, pwede pa. Pero desktop sa laptop? Malabo naman ata yun.

Kasi you mentioned na rin your BF's PC na binuo niya so I am assuming na desktop to. Then you compare your MBPro sa desktop niya kaya nasabi ko na mahirap naman i-compare yung 2 yun kasi maraming upgrades talaga sa desktop PC. I hope that clears it.

I've been a Mac person since 2010, and I'm going to have the Mac replaced with another Mac because... maraming sira (broken trackpad, battery, SD card reader)... hehe.

I'll be waiting for the one with Retina Display (13-inch version) to evaluate whether I'll go for something without an optical drive or not.

Pero if I were to be asked to go back to Windows, I'd say NO. Kaya ako nag-Mac to get away from the Windows upgrading mania.

^ my comparison isn't limited to my BF's Desktop PC to my MBP. i was comparing PCs to Macs, in general. i just gave my MPB and my BF's PC as examples for comparison so i have a concrete basis, but i've been through both Mac and Windows, my friends both have Mac and Windows, i've tried all sorts of Mac and Windows, and those are just my general comments.

fine then, comparing BF's Windows laptop to my MBP: same sentiments, although i would agree my MBP is faster and less trouble free. (considering the checkups and the updates and the defragging and scanning and the sneaky spyware, trojans and viruses) plus the sturdiness of the MBP's aluminum is a big plus

comparing our iMac to my BF's PC: same sentiments. But i'd always go for his PC any time for gaming/photo-editing/video-editing/3d-rendering, or just my MPB for docs and browsing.

--- those are just from MY experience ha. if you have a different one -- of course we all have different ones kasi we have different uses for our laptops and whatnot --- then fine.

and of course Mac is always a winner when it comes to aesthetics

also, i find that i still frequently use CrossOver for Mac on my MBP, this is an app used to run .exe since we can't run Windows programs (.exe) on our Macs (that run .dmg) and using Boot is tedious (and faulty, my trackpad sucks when i boot to windows on my MBP).

 I have a lot of Windows programs in my MBP, still. I can't seem to find Mac alternatives to them. If Mac had alternatives OR versions of said programs, i think i'll stop whining about Mac and be a purist.

I dont think this is a thread for bashing mac.

Para sa akin mas user friendly ang mac. i'm not techie and not a computer programmer/engineer or whatever it is that needs those complicated software so i'm pretty damn happy with my mac. Hahaha.

^ was anybody bashing mac? i was just informing everyone about the pros and cons of owning macs for a person like me, with different technological needs. i have both a mac and a pc. each with their own use. to each their own nga kasi.
