Canada Family Class Visa: Timelines and Stories

mine was family class visa through spouse. ganon talaga. super bagal na ng 2 years. may nakasabay ako sa application, 3 months lang sa kanya. and im guessing its because they have kids na. so kasama sa application kit ang kids. sa spousal kasi, yung strength lang ng relationship ang ipoprove and nothing else. wala ng show money. may medical pa rin basta syempre wag lang threat to cause epidemic or something. it is the responsibility kasi of the spouse to provide for the applicant kaya medyo mabilis. but of course, proven na fraudulent ang marriage eh crime yun. kaya the length of background check varies. depende sa couple

to answer your question: my application was received by CIC missisauga ng Jan 30. Sponsorship approval is April 25. Passport Request was around May 20 then Visa Approved ng June 27. Nareceive ko yung passport along with our documents ng 1st week of July.

^they sent a letter sis asking me to submit my passport either via courier or idrop sa emabassy

Ah okay. I thought they are going to call and schedule a pick up. My husband lost his phone 2 mos ago, eh yung number/sim nya sa phone na iyon ang nakalagay sa application nya.

I might still contact Canadian embassy in Manila for the change.

better to update the embassy on any changes kasi may iba na kinocontact through phone. ako before, hiningan ng additional pictures namin ni hubby pero through email. buti na lang araw araw talaga ako nagchecheck ng email. and also the courier might call your husband kung hindi mahanap ang bahay or walang magrereceive ng visa. kaya make sure na lang ng all communication lines are open and updated. good luck sa inyo ng husband mo sis

Thanks sis. I told my husband sa Canadian embassy sa Manila na lang nya ipa-fax yung change sa contact information nya. I called the immigration yesterday and  that's what they told me.

Sana talaga we'll hear from the embassy na soon.

Update for those waiting under Family Class:  11 months na ang waiting time.

My question is--nasusunod ba ito? Is there a possibility na mas mapaaga ang labas? I kinda know the answer but I want your opinions mga sis!

the 11 months is from transfer of file to the Canada embassy in Manila to the approval of visa so ++ pa dyan nung months from submission of application kit to Misissauga to approval of sponsorship. pero its just a benchmark. when i applied, 9 months ang waiting time pero it took me like 2-3months. pero yun nga depende nga sa profile ng couple as they say.

^yung kababayan ng friend ko 9 mos ang processing na nakalagay noon sa website ng cic pero lumabas yung papel nya on the 8th month--from the time they sent  their application to the release of visa/pick up.

bale mine was total of 5 months. ok lang yan sis. bibilis na din siguro yan kasi baka less background check kasi may bagon ng rule na dapat at least 2 years na magsasama pagdating ng applicant sa canada. yung fraudulent marriages naman kasi talaga ang nakapagpabagal kaya lalong tumindi ang scrutiny sa mga application. kaya ng ayung kasabay ko, since they have 2 kids na ng asawa nya, within 3 months approve na ang visa nung asawa nya and kids.

sis, yung bagong rule only applies to those who pass their application on november 2012 and later. bale hindi affected yung application namin. nakakasira lang ng loonb kasi i was hoping my husband can join me here na this december. yung december na inaasahan ko naging february na

Case to case basis naman palagi ang application. Minsan swertihan, napapabilis. Depende na nga rin siguro sa case at documents. Pero basta ang guaranteed naman ay less than a year hehe.

Just have to clarify this so others would be informed also.

^sabi din daw..depende kay minister kenney..
sometimes pag sinabi ng minister na dapat matapos ang backlog ng so and so months.. so magmamadali ang mga nag a-assess ng docs.. kaya may mga times daw na mabilis ang processing.

kaka-pass lang namin ng application package sa CIO.

Yeah I think it's 11 months from the time the application was received in  Misissauga. Kasi 12 months lang ang validity ng medical exam eh. So dapat makaalis yung applicant in less than a year.

Thank you sa info sis pero kasi ang sinasabi naman ng Canadian embassy in Manila is otherwise. once the application kit is transferred to Manila VO, dun pa lang magsstart ang background check for the applicant. badtrip pa nga kasi ang aga nila hihingin yung passport tapos ang tagal pa pala marerelease ang visa. may cases na 5 months from the time na hiningi ang passport tapos wala pa rin visa. so in 5 motnhs, wala kang passport sa kamay mo. paano if gusto mo umalis diba, so hindi pwede.

the 1 year validity of the Medical results was extended to 18 months ata para hindi na magretake yung mga nalagpasan ng 1 year. I've joined a forum for Canada immigration and i've heard a lot of stories na. some are disappointing and some are inspiring naman. Thankfully, inabot lang ako ng total of 5 months. marami akong kabatch na nauna pa sa mga nagpass ng application from the previous month. so i think until this date may mga 2011 applicants pa na nasa pilipinas pa.

maybe when they mean, "when we receive the application" refers not of them receiving at manila office  but at misissauga. i checked the immigration site, and tama nga. 'when they received.'

oh well. 11 months is still 11 months. i'm just hoping to have my christmas gift early--the decision approval. whew!

Our application package was received in Misissauga on December 13, 2012. I'll post kung ano ang magiging development sa application process.
