^California din kami,  pero sabi nga iba-iba tayo.  first of,  in my circle of family/relatives/friends when we go to each other's houses,  wala yatang nagpapatanggal ng sapatos, sigure depende din sa floor/floor covering.   at saka siguro safe naman from dog poo dahil walang masyadong naglalakad sa labas,  hahahahaha, lahat nagdrive dito di ba,  literally door to door  na nasa sasakyan.   then wala namang snow, the few times there's rain,  nobody in their right minds  won't want to be out anyway.   unlike before,  we hardly have parties  now din,  any dirt we drag inside will be just mine and my husbands lang, hahahahaha.
again  like i said, this is a touchy subject.   but if i do see that the homeowner prefers no shoes inside (hint hint,  mountain of shoes outside hahahaha),  of course naman  i will take off my shoes din.

I think I have posted here quite a while ago about a guest who didn't remover her shoes and I took offense. SOP na for my guests, who normally are close friends, to take their shoes off and just wear socks or I lend then rubber slippers (cheap ones which we wash after every use). Same thing we do when we go to other peoples homes.

Speaking of horror guest, how do you deal with rowdy kids?
E.g. - washroom got clogged with who knows what, we thought is was a tick wad of tissue paper (it was disguting, away ko na ikwento buong story)

Food wrapings all over the house after they eat;

Whenever we have guest coming, we would tell our kid to tell the kids that they are off limits from using the billiard table. One time, hindi yata na warningan so the kids started playing and muntik na matapunan ng drinks since one kid placed the drink on the ledge. Also made  several scratches on the top wood part. My hubby went livid after. We nearly did not like to have parties anymore.

-Computers games
-board games
-books
-gadgets (ipad/phone)
-any toys or games na pwede sa room.

they rummage through my pantry looking for food/snacks and one time ate all my kit kat and some other cholates :(

^^ hi sis I have no kids but is it possible to lock the room with the pool table so they can't access it?

How about setting rules and regulations early on (be an active adult that oversees the kids) like telling them clearly:
- places they are allowed to play
- time/schedule (playtime from 1-3, merienda at 3)
- wash hands before eating
- bus your own plate (if they're a certain age na)

Are the candy wrappers candy they bring or do you provide them?

Aside from asking your children to manage their guests (their friends) maybe you need to command them at the beginning of play time and acknowledge them after ward too.

I don't know just thinking out loud Here sis how I can 'discipline' a pack of children... I'll basically tell all of them as a group no more playing in our house if the rules we set are not respected.  Don't take my word for it though sis, I have no kids (yet)!

^ang gingawa namin mga sweet foods and chips nasa taas ng cabinet di nila abot pero diba parents mas nakakakilala sa mga kids nila kung gaano ka kulit kaya dapat lang before party kinakausap na nila or kapag pasaway talaga sila dapat ang nakakalam ng dapat gawin. Before the party we make sure na nakatabi ang mga takaw tingin sa bata.

^thats practical sis basta not out of sight and out of reach yung mga food

Honestly I have not encountered kids/pack of kids that would just freely rummage through someone else's things...  But then it's also my circumstances -- living in NYC you're usually in one space with the kids and parents tell them off right away, plus people here don't have kids agad so all my friends and circles don't have kids yet. Good to learn though!

The man cave/game room is in an open space at the basement.
Of late, when we have guests, my husband would say in a loud voice - bawal kids to play pool.

I stopped serving the kids popsicles/ice cream bar and the like kasi nga ang kalat and ang lagkit ng sahig after.

The last get together we had, we hid chocolates and chips.

I love my friends, pero di ba dapat the parents are responsible to tell their kids kung ano bawal and hindi. Sometimes I would like to have a party at home and tell them that its for adults only :)

My sis lives in upstate New York. Because her house and backyard is big, all major occasion/celebration is held in her house - thanksgiving, easter, christmas, birthdays, etc. We have the same problem pero she jsut let it be kasi ganoon talaga mga bata.

^my kid I can control.
Pero I do no like to police the kids in my house, di ba responsibilidad ng parents yon?
My kid would have some playmates in our house sometimes, nasasabihan ko sila to clean up after eating and such kasi wala naman parents nila.

Hate it when you send guests their invitation where it's spelled out clearly how many seats are allocated to them and just who is being invited and they reply that theyre going but add 1-2 more than that so they can bring x and y along.. cant you get a hint?? Ugh. The celebrant doesnt need your kid and her boyfie there because they arent as relevant to her as the other chosen guests AND who wants to pay extra 4k per head to feed uninvited guests. Some people are so ill mannered na even rich ones.

Most of the time, they?ll just show up with an entire party and expect you to cater.

Hahaha

Well siguro plan na kasi nun yun nagtatanong kung may free room eh at free swimming.

May isa pa, 4 of them in the family, sabi ko ok confirmed ko na yun. Then meron pa daw si sister nya at yung boyfriend.
