One of my friends, JW sya. Ang sabi nya samen, they do not celebrate bdays. Kahit may inaantay pa kaming friends. Yung tipong pag andun na sya dapat kumain na. Kasi gutom na sya! Kaloka!

Nung wedding namin, controlled talaga ang guestlist, as in close friends and relatives lang, I did not invite my side of officemates kasi iba iba schedules namin at yung place mahirap i-commute ayaw ko naman mag provide ng ride for them hehe. Pero officemates ni hubby pumunta.

Nung first birthday ng son ko, na hurt talaga ko as in tampururot ako for mga 2 months hahaha, kasi yung venue pinili ko malapit sa family side ko, childhood friends, highschool friends, sa Jollibee ang birthday niya pero talagang dun pa sa Paranaque ko pinili. Dami dami Jollibee sa Las Pinas e.

Come birthday aba mas punong puno pa din yung side nila hubby, to think mga taga Cavite sila.

So, because of that
2nd birthday, Canyon Cove Batangas kami
3rd birthday Pico De Loro kami
4th birthday this year, for sure beach ulit

With my kid's parties naman, mas madalas yung madaming bitbit na sabit horror story than hindi pumunta. Very good ang mga friends and family pagdating sa pagattend. Hehe. So this year, we have to pare down the guestlist dun talaga sa mga taong we want to be there for her 7th. Next party is 18th na eh, for the next years, bahala na sya what she wants. :) So we really want this one to be memorable.

Totoo yan sis, if they 'care', pupunta sila kesehodang simple or engrande or malayo. We have a friend who lives in Cainta (we're from Cavite), we're always in 100% attendance sa events ng bawat isa, despite the bonggang byahe, because importante sila sa amin. Most of the parties din naman na we are invited to, pinuputahan talaga namin, kasi our thinking is, sa dami ng taong ininvite, ininvite tayo - we really value that, kaya kung wala namang prior engagements or importanteng asikasuhin, gora kami.

^Just same here pumupunta talaga kami kapag ininvite kami basta hindi naging conflict sa mas importanteng agenda.

Although I have to admit kapag alanganin na talaga that is the chance na hindi na talaga kami makakapunta. Example if it will suffer our budget going to that far place then no choice but not to go as much as we want.

in my case i've already held 3 personal parties (wedding, binyag & 1st birthday) and noticed that most invited guests who didn't show up are the ones who are not used with having their OWN parties. my friends who are also fond of setting up parties came in early and stayed until the end of the event.

^Agree! Simply because, those who are not used in having their own parties don't know how it feels how hard it is to organize a party! Hindi nila alam gano nakaka stress yung mga "horror guests" like them. hehe!

Next time meron na akong preferred who to invite and never again.

^in fairness, after my 3 parties, now i now who'll i invite next time. we decided to have intimate parties nalang but spend it at nice venues and have quality food. i don't care if magtampo yung iba. lol. i explained it to my husband that we shouldn't invite relatives just to make them feel they're special, tapos hindi sisipot, needed lang talaga invite para hindi magtampo.

i suggest you invite friends who are very supportive of your life events. ok lang kahit konti ang guests, at least they are present.

^lol, same here. i will no longer bother inviting people who don't respect the etiquette of RSVPs. you can really count on well-behaved guests talaga, pero pag walang alam sa events or don't respect other people's time, they don't care lang or usually 2 hours late.

Warays have this tendency na palibhasa malayo sila sa province eh lahat ng kakilala nilang kababayan dito sa Manila eh "family" kahit na hindi nila maisulat how it ran in the family. You know how many came? Ang masama pa dun, first:  Hindi sila marunong sumunod sa RSVP, second:  They had to be called up one by one and they CONFIRMED they were coming.  In fact yung isa, nagpresenta sa kanyang maging Ninang nung binata pa lang siya, way before akong makilala. Na kesyo nasa flight pa from Zamboanga the last minute.  Well, nagpresenta siya so why was she in Zamboanga?  We gave out the invites two months before the wedding.  Tapos kalabas-labas eh "masyado kasing strikto yung imbitasyon mo."  Oh my God!  Sana man lang she had the decency of begging off earlier hindi yung indian on the day itself.

Tapos nasa invite namin ganito:  Men - Barong Tagalog.  Women:  Evening Gown/Cocktail Dress.  RSVP on or before December 2, 2012.

Guess what?  Isang uncle ni hubby dumating ng naka-barong matching his MAONG PANTS! It breaks my heart that this fashion eye sore is caught on video.

^sis horror nga yan! i can relate with the ninang na nasa invite pero hindi dumating. ang masaklap pa, we already printed the invites and our ninang didn't know na ninang pala sya (i was really pissed off with my MIL who insisted that the ninang should be in the entourage but that's a different story).

one of my groomsmen also wore blue long-sleeves nun, while the required color is white. ayun, hindi ko talaga sya pinasama sa picture-taking. sorry. lol. ;D

i hate to say this but the 'pasaways' are mostly from the province talaga.
