Newbie here...

My daughter is G-2 in STC. So far bilib ako sa school na ito kasi advance ang mga lessons nila. Mag 7 years old pa lang anak ko sa november. Nung time nya gang nov ang cut-off kaya nakapasok siya kahit alanganin edad niya. Sa class nila siya ang pinakabata. Ang nga classmates niya 7 1/2 at 8 years old na. But despite this Stc is a good school. No regrets!☺️

Hi mommies. Just wanted to share...

Went to STC this morning to submit admission requirements for Kinder. The registrar was very accomodating but I was surprised when she asked me if my husband and I were married in church because our marriage contract indicates our civil wedding. I told her our situation that we as much as we would want to get married in church, my husband must get a church annulment first (yes, he was previously married and had it civilly annulled). She asked me if we have plans, so I told her that it would be very costly and tedious if we pursue it. According to her she needs to forward our documents to the school directress for review and possible interview. She asked me to bring the anotated marriage contract of my husband from his first marriage and the annulment decision. They follow daw kasi CATHOLIC VALUES. I felt discriminated with this process of STC. Also the annulment procedings and anotated marriage contract of his 1st marriage is a personal file of ours. I tried searching for other catholic schools like Miriam, Assumption & St. scholastica and they don't even ask for the parents marriage contract for admission of a child. Just because we were not married in church doesn't make my daughter any less from other kids studying in STC. We've been eying this school eversince because of their simplicity and values but if their values include discrimination then i don't think this school for us. We as a family believe in fair education.

This is really made me sad. I know my daughter has not been rejected yet because we still have an interview but their was a clear discrination in the process of admission.

Sad but true.

sorry to hear this, sis. magandang school pa naman. i have theresian friends whom i met in college (UP diliman) and they are well-rounded people. kaya nga i advised my cousin to send her daughter to STC next year. kaso lang pareho kayo ng situation. she is also civilly wed, not church. magiging problem pala!

i had no idea na ganito pala ka-strict ang STC sa admission. nagtataka lang ako why yung college friend ko, she's not married (single mom sya) tinanggap yung daughter nya sa stc? it might be because she is an alumna. baka pag alumna preferential treatment.

Mga sis medyo strict nga stc when it comes to admission. In my case umabot din ako sa directress for interview since i'm a single parent myself but not married. The interview went like whats my job, salary maybe to gauge if you can pay for their tuition and my current status in life. I just answered truthfully and ayun my daughter is now at grade 6 and enjoying her time in STC. Do not loose hope. They will follow the process and when you are schedule for an interview with the school directress. Come early relax bring your husband along and just enjoy the interview. :)

Good morning mommies. Same with you sis, umabot din ako sa directress when I submitted by daughter's application requirements because we are not roman catholics. When the directress reviewed her documents, she accepted it and said that my daughter can still proceed with her communion (rites?). Sorry I am not very familiar with this. The directress mentioned that my daughter needs to attend masses and other catholic rites. We also talked about other things related to our family.

She recently passed the entrance exam for Kinder 2 next SY and we are given until next Monday to settle the reservation. Her teachers in her current school highly recommend STC. I just have some questions because we are choosing between STC and Poveda. The application process is more strict in STC. I wasnt interviewed re our religion in Poveda. The application form is shorter and the process is simpler in Poveda.

We live nearer STC, tho. What I like about STC is how they give importance to simplicity and high academic excellence. I am worried about the work load when it comes to quizzes, homework, etc. Which made us consider Poveda.

Can you please share any feedback/experience of STC students/mommies who are not Roman Catholics?

How is their class dismissal process? Do they have an open house?

Thank you.

Hello mommies! Just to give a feedback, we were called in for an interview with the school directress. It was very light. Parang just reminding us of Catholic values. The directress was very naman. Ang medyo off lang for us was they got a copy of the Annulment decision and attached it to our application   :( Well, anyway, my daughter is scheduled for an entrance exam/interview for Kinder this Thursday Oct 16. Goodluck to us!
