jtansanco, what's a nice 4-star hotel near the heart of taipei? budget is 5k/night nett.

also, wanna try the wang's steakhouse. sang branch may pinaka-ok na ambiance? aside from Wang's and DTF, what are the other must-go-to restos? =)

Can't really help with the hotel. Apartment kasi ako back then.

YES! You HAVE to eat at Wang's Steak. The best fine dining experience so far. More or less nasa P1,500 yung set meal niya but sobrang worth it.

^ I think you should reserve. Lagi ata puno doon. Whenever we eat there, lagi nakareserve e. Ang cute pa ng waitress nila kaya ako napapabalik lagi. Hahaha

Hi! Next year pa taipei trip namin ni hubby but we are super excited na as early as now!  i have been to taiwan twice already but that was way back 1996 and 1997. Super tagal na so parang first time ko ulit! I need suggestions on our iti. :
Day 1: chiang kai shek memorial hall. Ximending shopping. Shi lin night market.
Day 2: buy pasalubongs at chia te bakery (pineapple tarts). Go to taipei 101 and eat at din tai fung. Shopping.
Day 3: taipei zoo and maokong gondola. Hello kitty sweets. Shida night market.
Day 4 shopping at ximending. (Do you have any other suggestions?). Go to the airport at 9pm.

We might stay at Inhouse Hotel in Ximending. Ano pa puwede isama sa iti namin? Aside from pineapple tarts from chia te bakery, ano pa ibang ok na pampasalubong? May other brands ba ng pineapple tart na yummy din? I also need suggestions on good restos in ximending, taipei 101 and other places. Thanks

sa may shillin night market sa may bungad lang yun may nagbebenta ng pasalubong dun. Parang buy 5 libre isang box. Pineapple cake yung sweetened, mochi, gelatin, pudding. 100 NT each

Sa mga groceries meron beef noodle. Yung may totoong beef talaga. Yi du zhan ang name. Kahit niluluto or yung naka bowl na plastic masarap siya.  75 NT 3 pcs lang ata.

Chocolates kung makita mo yung Market place name ng grocery sa may taipei 101 meron yan. Hanapin mo lang sa bungad yun europe chocolates tatak nasa 120 ata NT

ako sa july 7 naman trip namin. first time in taipei. booked our hotel na =)
im excited for our food trip. we're foodies kasi! =) and of course shopping. i heard super mura ng branded bags in taipei esp hermes

is it possible for a one day trip to sun moon lake from Taipei?  we are planning to take the HSR train to Taichung for 1 hour and then take the bus for 1.5 hours. gusto lang namin mag cable car to Formosa Aboriginal Village and do the ferry boat ride lang

Really po??? Ngek! We have a US visa and we are sked to fly on june 3...we might have to cancel nalang baka di rin kami i approve sa taipe immigration....hays:-(

I am also visiting Taiwan next week and was able to get a visa online first week of May. I called TECO(Taiwan Economic and Cultural Office) Te. 8876688, and they told me we can still use our visa.
Any sis living in Taiwan?Are the news true about the discrimination against Pinoys?
