I am new here but am not here for an upcoming wedding or something. I and a friend just started an event styling business. We have tried for the first time a third party supplier. Since first time namin nakakuha ng client who wanted fresh flower wall backdrop. And since we visited expo and have those flyers as well, nakita namin na pinakamura si Dangwa Florist and a consistent top booker. Then we went to their boutique and inquire personally. In fairness, they are very accommodating kausap and ka-transact. Our flower choice (client's choice rather) is Roses, Carnation, Hydrangea and Astro. As per Carnation, though mahal ito, but it is a personal favorite kasi ng client, kaya sabi namin, is to still put it there as accent. They quoted us 15,000 for the whole backdrop (4x8 feet floral wall plus 2 decorated wood on the sides). Total of 8x12 feet. We automatically trusted them kasi kapag sinabing Top Booker, it means price and quality is okay. Plus we also have pictures and mock-up that we shown to them kaya confident kami na magagawa nila.
But sadly, hindi sa amin. We were very disappointed sa outcome. Walang Roses (though itinawag ito a day before na mababawasan ng Roses, so okay bawasan, kaso walang inilagay, as in wala), sobrang konti ng Carnation, walang Hydrangea, so ibang flowers ang inilagay. The venue of the event is in Manila Peninsula. The in-house event stylist ng Manila Pen and us coordinated sa kind of flowers and colors na gagamitin. Kaso yung idineliver nung installation na, iba. Besides, when we got there, it is already installed. Hindi namin alam kung paano nangyari kasi you need permit pa, which is nasa amin and also an specific ingress time. Kaya hindi namin nakita how it is installed, etc. Sorry, but the quality is poor on our standard, and on client's standard. Sobrang nahiya talaga kami. Halos ayaw kong tingnan or kausapin si client because of that. Kasi we always communicate, call them to ask if there's any problem. Tapos ganun ang outcome. Though, maganda sya sa picture, but personal na, so so lang, but if mataas standard mo in terms of quality, it will not pass. Then yung inilagay pang tacks sa ilalim to cover the foot of the backdrop na curtain, iba-ibang kulay, so inulit ko pa sya lahat.
I am not posting here para siraan sila. Maybe case to case basis and hindi expertise ni Dangwa Florist ang floral wall, but it is okay to tell us, para humanap kami ng iba or if no choice, kami na gumawa personally. Well, now kami na talaga gagawa should we get floral wall again as backdrop, a lesson learned to us. Yun lang, sobrang nakakahiya talaga. Magkaibang magkaiba yung flower ni Manila Pen sa flower na nagamit sa amin for floral wall. Maybe sa sobrang dami ng client ni Dangwa Florist, ang quality nasa-suffer na rin. I hope ma-improve ito, for them to get come back client. Now, me and my biz partner decided na huwag nang kumuha ulit ng 3rd party supplier ever, or will get again from Dangwa Florist, which I guess justified naman nyo siguro why. Buti na lang, ako na personally gumawa ng garland flowers na inilagay sa lantern for give-away. They quoted us 300-400 per fresh flower garland kahit sa amin na mismo galing yung lantern. So para makatipid, I made it myself and it turned out well. Per bundle ng Carnation is 170, on each bundle, they have 10 stems, on each stem may 2-4 flowers. I bought the fresh flowers I put on lantern kay Nene's Flower Shop, malapit sila sa market na ng Dangwa.
