Hi bunnypiggy30, better ask your ob to be sure... Check the main hormone na meron ang althea, estrogen ba or what? Probably taking the med helped you balance kung ano ang kulang mo before. It should be ok to be off the pill after three months, baka taking it helped balanced your hormones.

Hi! I was diagnosed with PCOS. I haven't had my period for 3 months. My OB prescribed Provera to be taken for 5 days and Althea sa first day ng mens ko to be taken for 3 months sabi ng OB ko. Ok lang ba na ituloy ko yung Althea for more than 3mos? I am worried kasi na baka bumalik sa dati if I stop taking pills. Please help me mga sis. Thanks po!

better ask your OB muna...since sinabi nya for 3 months lang, take mo lang siya ng ganon katagal...ako im taking althea for 4 months just to correct my period since wala pa naman si hubby ko...pero tama sinabi mo maganda effect ng althea, even me may mga pimples ako before, since nung nagtake ako althea, nawala [textspeak!] and kuminis [textspeak!] face ko...yun lang feeling ko nananaba naman ako...hahahahha...

^Congrats, sis! :)

I hope you don't mind my asking, why specific na you gave up coffee? May significance ba if nag co-coffee & TTC?
Eto sis naging basis ko "Caffeine and PCOS"

"Some health experts believe that caffeine exacerbates polycystic ovary syndrome. According to the reproductive-health educational website Women's Health, caffeine increases your body's normal estrogen levels. Many PCOS patients struggle with infertility, and caffeine is often suggested as a potential contributor to fertility issues, says Natural News. It seems clear that caffeine plays a role in sex hormone-related issues for at least some women; therefore, even if the link is not fully understood or universal to all PCOS patients, some physicians advise PCOS sufferers to cut down on or eliminate caffeine to see if doing so lessens symptoms and improves fertility." http://www.livestrong.com/article/541151-caffeine-polycystic-ovaries/. Kaya better safe than sorry ako sis :) Just to be sure, i have avoided coffee and anything sweet (though i ate sweets pa rin though in moderation lang). Nag-brown rice rin ako. Sacrifice to the highest level, sis :)

@mrs_mcta: Nagmi-metformin ka rin ba sis? What are the meds that you have taken and currently taking?

^Thanks for sharing the article, sis; patay ako dito, coffee pa naman ako everyday, huhu..

Unfortunately, hindi ko nate-take yung Metformin consistently pero dapat 2x a day. Ang important daw kase talaga is mapawisan; kaso I'm on night shift tapos office work pa so sedentary lifestyle talaga.

^Kaya nga sis sobrang hirap itigil ang coffee. That was my lifeline before esp in the morning. Pampagising at kasama sa breakfast. Ask mo rin OB mo sis kung may alternative way to “mimic” coffee. Baka meron :) I haven’t tried Chromium Picolinate sis eh. I’m not familiar either. Pero so far ok ba ang result sayo?

Naging matigas rin ang ulo ko dati sis regarding meds and follow-up checkups. With my first OB, pinag-pills nya ako for almost 8 months. Kaso for 1 yr, mukhang 3 or 4x lang ako ngka-mens and I’ve gained weight (though di naman umabot sa pagiging overweight).  This Feb 2015 lang ako nag-decide ulit sis na mag-seryoso sa pagpapa-checkup sa new OB ko. She prescribed me with metformin 850mg 2x/day plus a folic acid. I had 3 cycles of clomifene citrate too. I have taken the meds religiously kahit ampangit ng effect ng metformin sa akin, go lang. After 5 months, BFP na :)

Hi! I just had my transrectal ultrasound yesterday.
Preparation:
Avoid eating fatty/oily food the day before the procedure
Last meal should be 12 midnight the night before (assuming the procedure will be done at around 8am-10am tomorrow morning)
take oral Dulcolax after your last meal (night)
Put Dulcolax suppository at 4am next morning

Makaka-pupu ka niyan for sure at walang nakabawa sa rectum mo during ultrasound.
I had my transrec before sa isang hospital at ang laki ng gamit nila :( ayun nag-bleed tuloy ako. Huhu.

I just found out a few days ago that I'm pregnant! :) I have irregular period ever since my period started when i was 11, as in may times na in a year, 2x lang dumadating ang period ko. It didn't bother me until last year so I went to the doctor to have myself checked and I was diagnosed with PCOS, both ovaries. I was given duphaston to make me bleed, then oral contraceptives..I also took coquinone at biomega as my lady vitamins. So pinacontinue lang ako with my pills and vitamins and then last May of this year, my ultraasound revealed that both my ovaries are PCOS free na. I stopped taking pills but continued on with my vitamins. Naging irregular ulit yung period ko, my LMP was probably July pa of this year. I didn't think much of it, di na din ako nagpacheck up ulir since i held on to the finding na wala na akong PCOS.

For the past 2 weeks I was feeling nauseated almost everyday, and wala akong gana kumain especially at night, so I thought maybe I have to take a PT. Although I was so sure na negative sya kasi nga i havent had my period in months, and I remember taking a PT around august (kasi nga delayed na ko that time, and it was negative). But when I took it last friday, yun, BFP! :) Sobrang nagulat ako. I tried to remember the exact day of the LMP to estimate my AOG pero talagang di ko na maalala kasi it's been 5 or so months. Lol. So we had our checkup the next day and found out I was 11 weeks on the day :) Sobrang surreal, and the timing was more than perfect. Right now, hindi ko pa din maisip yung fact na bihirang bihira na lang nga ako mag ovulate, tapos timing pa na nakabuo.

So sisses na TTC, have faith lang and always take care of your body, and definitely have loads of sexy time with your partner (not kidding) since hindi natin alam yung estimated ovulation day natin, hehe. Seriously though, just keep trying :) Everything will happen in the perfect time talaga. :)

I was diagnosed with PCOS April 2015. My OB advised me to take Diane-35. At dapat daw mag- diet ako. Since then di pa ako bumabalik sa kanya pero most probably this month babalik ako.

Ive been diagnosed with PCOS last January. Ive been taking psychiatric meds for depression and for sleeping.. at malaking cause sila sa hormonal problems ko. Ive gained a lot of weight and i have nasty breakouts na never ko naranasan kahit sa mga pregnancies ko.

Can anyone have any tips para maglose ng weight and control na acnes? I am taking Metformin, Diane and Aldactone. Im not trying to conceive din. Thank you!

^sis as for me, while I was taking Diane for almost a year, my skin definitely got better. I usually get acne paisa isa lang when i'm not on the pill. Pero nung ginamit ko sya as in totally wala and mas kuminis face ko. I also was taking proflavanol C noon for my allergies and i believe nakatulong din sya with my skin kasi mataas grapeseed content nya and very potent antioxidant din.

-----

upon reading and reevaluating my latest ultrasound (the one where we saw our baby), apparently my right ovary have several subcapsular follicular cysts, meaning i still have polycystic right ovary. it's also indicated on my ultrasound results na my left ovary naman has the corpus luteum (the remains of the mature egg) meaning, the egg that was fertilized was from my left, which has been my normal ovary since last year. all the while i thought i don't have pcos anymore. anyway, buti na lang my left one ovulated. sobrang perfect timing talaga, i'm still amazed. haha

I seriously don't know which thread to post my question. I am PCOS and it took us 20 months before we were blessed with a baby. Now we are trying again and sa ultrasound we learned I still have pcos on both ovaries. My ob is asking me to take Diane but it's not ok for breastfeeding. I don't know what to do. I don't want to wean my baby just yet but I also want to start trying for baby # 2.

If I understood it right, kakapanganak mo lang ba with baby #1 and still breastfeeding? how old is your baby?
