A lot of us women have this condition and the cause is relatively unknown.

Please share if you have it, or worry that you might have it. What are your symptoms, treatments, and how are you dealing with it?

Hi! I was diagnosed with pcos this april lang. 2 months akong di nagka mens we thought na buntis ako so nagpacheck up ako negative naman. Ob suggested na mag pa tvs daw ako from there we found out na polycystic ovary daw ako. Niresetahan ako ng metformin pero di ko sinunod coz i dnt wanna be dependent sa gamot . April napansin ko na may dryness ako down there and bumaba [textspeak!] libido ko na ngayon ko lang naexperience till now major problem ko talaga ang pagkawala ng sex interest ko and yung dryness.next week im planning to visit my ob na para matulungan nya ako.sana matreat nya ako sa tingin ko pcos ang cause ng pagkawala ng sexdrive ko since hormone problem nga kaya nag dry din yung vagina ko.

A lot of women with PCOS complain about decreased sexual interest or low levels of libido. But not all experience that. I cannot say that my libido decreased because of PCOS but that's quite interesting. I remember a lowered libido early this year and I attributed it to the contraceptive pills but not to PCOS. Hmm, PCOS could be culprit not the pills. Although the pills can cause mood swings as well which could be contributed to a lack of sex drive. It could also be the emotional stress brought about by the physical and metabolic changes caused by PCOS so if it bothers you, it's wise na you talk to your doc.

Anyway, it's best if you follow what the doc tells you, to avoid any further complications. My sister was diagnosed with PCOS and together with Diane and was advised to take it with Metformin because she might have a high insulin level which is a cause of her pre-diabetes. She has an elevated blood sugar level. Our doc is telling her to watch out her diet and weight because PCOS is closely related to diabetes in women. But then again, PCOS itself is not as bad as it may seem, all I'm worried about is infertility and the dangerous complications connected to it. Frequent irregular periods can also cause cancer.

As for the dryness, I really don't know what could be causing it. It could be stress related sis.

It was 2008 when i decided to take pills kasi i dont want to be pregnant. However, my mens is very regular and 28 days cycle lang. By 2010 i stopped my pills. then nanibago ako sa cycle ko dahil inabot ng 35 days. then sex interest ko nwawala na din and napansin ko na hindi ako nagkakaron ng sticky mucus like before. Then, sobrang dandruff. Hindi ko yun pinansin until my OB saw my face nung nagpachek up ako  na nag kakabigote daw ako. so TVS niya ako and yun, positive ako for PCO.

And yes, dry din ang vagina ko. ang worry ko lang maige dito ay yung pagbubuntis ko and sana pagbalik ni fiancee from abroad, hindi ako mwalan ng gana sa sex. kasi napansin ko din [textspeak!] na wala nako gana kahit pa nga cyber lang kami.

I was diagnosed with PCOS February of 2009. I was advised by my OB to take contraceptives, since I was still single then. She put Althea in the transcription. I got fat. From 115 lbs., I got to 130-140 lbs. in two years time. But I don't blame my weight gain solely on the PCOS because I was plump to begin with, and it was in my genes. Anyway, I already have regular period, still regularly taking the pills. Oh and we changed my pills to Yaz. Less mood swings now.

My only concern is when I get married. Should we try for a baby immediately? I'm turning 27 next year and maybe will be married by 28-29 years old.

ano tinetake mong gamot sis for your pcos? Ako nga din dati may mbasa lang ako na naughty phases nagwewet nako. Wala ba binigay ob mo for the dryness? Nagpacheck up ako kahapon sa ob ko pap smear nya ko para malaman kung may infection sa loob. Pwede din daw kasi na maging hindrance ng sexdrive ay infection. ano tinetake mong gamot sis for your pcos? Ako nga din dati may mbasa lang ako na naughty phases nagwewet nako. sis, wala binigay na gamot ang OB ko. Saka nalang kapag sakaling di ako magfertile sa 6 n months na allowance niya samin ni hubby. so ang mangyyri eh talagang todo kayod kami ni hubby pra mabuntis ako. hayzzz sana bumalik ang sexdrive ko.

hi sisses, i was diagnosed with PCO 3 years go..Dra. Cabatu from UST was my OB and prescribed Metformin 3x a day, kaso super naman naiistress ang stomach ko...since si BF ay nagwawala na dahil gusto na nya akong mabuntis, sa MOnday eh magpapachek up ulit ako...im hoping to get pregnant kasi ito nalang ang makakasalba sa aming relationship

is there a possibility for me to get pregnant? im taking vitex na kaso 40mg lang ang available sa HO, im asking a friend to send some from the States...im so depressed mga sis

1 cycle lang ako nagpills for treatment ng PCOS. heavy bleeding (breakthrough bleeding) kase effect sakin ng Althea. Kaya pinalitan ng OB ko ng Primolut-N and so far naka 2 cycles na ko, on time ang AF.

Hello sisses, question lang may PCOS daw me ang sabi sakin gagamutin daw muna yung hormonal imbalance ko.  Niresetahan ako ng provera 10 days ko daw iinumin kaso ngayon nagkaroon na ako hindi ko pa napapainom lol ang mahal pa naman.  Tingin nyo inumin ko pa kaya? 1st day kaya mahina pa.  Ang sabi sakin kasi 1st day of menstruation inom na daw ng pills.  Ano ba dapat gawin ko? thanks

Hi sis piatos!  I also have PCOS and my OB initially prescribed me to take provera for 10 days starting on the 16th day of my cycle for 3 consecutive cylces.  Unfortunately, i had to stop taking this med after my first cycle coz the side effects were not tolerable (palpitation, lightheadedness, migraine, hallucination). I suggest that you check with your OB on the timing para mas effective.  Sayang naman kasi coz it's very expensive.  Just to add, if you are overweight like me ( 120 lbs at 5ft ht.) best to lose weight per my OB coz this is one of the reasons why I have PCOS.

note: sorry for the long post! i would like to know similar stories also.  i know i need to do a lot of back reading and searching, but posted my questions/situation still. hope it's OK.

intro muna: married just last year; tried conceiving while abroad with hubby, to no avail; back here in Manila; hubby's abroad; following hubby abroad by Apr next year.

situation: i do not have PCOS, but i have polycystic ovaries, this was the diagnosis 3 years ago. kasi my mens is regular, my testosterone test is normal only that i have polycystic ovaries, sabi ng OB i should satisfy 2 out of the 3 to be diagnosed with PCOS.

early this year, i noticed some changes with my period, brown spots muna then after 2 days yung full red talaga. i started taking diane35 then for my pimples. then i stopped taking it after completing 1 pack kasi parang hindi naman nakatulong with my skin. tapos continuous na ganun yung period ko, brown spots muna then after 2 days yung real thing. every month naman yung period, pero pa-iba-iba yung cycle schedule. so i went to see an OB in Aug, i was prescribed pills to regulate my mens. so i took Althea, but after the first pack, i switched to Diane35 kasi super migraine ako sa Althea. pero na-aggravate lalo yung pimples ko, i thought it would subside after my 2nd pack of Diane35, pero mas naging grabe pa, non-stop talaga sa cheeks and chin, so my derma asked me to seek advice from my OB. my OB said, since natapos ko na yung 2nd pack nd D35 and my cycle is now OK, i can stop muna. then if my period becomes irregular again, i can take duphaston (2x a day from D11-D25 from the date of my 1st day). so i don't know if my acne has something to do now with my polycystic ovaries kasi ngayon lang 'to nangyari sa akin. i would usually get pimples pag magkakaroon lang, but not like this na parang every week may newbie on my face, lol. at the same time, i read duphaston can help with fertility? baka kaya nahirapan din ako mag-conceive because of my polycystic ovaries? i am thinking of seeing my OB again, sabihin ang kulit ko, i just saw her last Mon.

Hi sis i have pcos and one factor din ng mahirap magconceive is pagiging polycystic also osang manifestation din ng pcos or pco is hormonal acne,its a different kind of acne if compared sa pimplea lang talaga,its persistent doeant reapond to topical most times,i also took diane for 3 mos and i weaned myself off of it kasi madami ako nabasa na after nila magpills either bumalik acne nila or it came back much worst,up until now im battling with my skins sudden change depressing din na siya.pero high hopes pa din hehe.minsan ok on skin then after ilang days hala nagsilabasan

Hindi na ako pumunta ng OB nagalthea na agad ako haha and hindi ko na rin ininom yung provera pinapalitan ko na lang ng pills sa mercury.  Pag naubos ko na yung 1 pack tsaka na ako babalik sa OB ko. 

sis cj8611, ito rin pinoproblema ko single ako 3 mos na wala akong jowa.  Tapos, lately ko lang nadiscover na may PCOS at myoma nodule pala ako.  Matagal ba bago gumaling ang PCOS and myoma?  Natatakot ako huhu.  Magkakaanak pa kaya ako in the future? tnx

hi sissies, i just want to share with you the benefits of oolong tea.

 a friend of my posted on fb the benefits nung uminom sya ng oolong tea:

regular periods
pcos is gone
now she's pregnant

she was raving about it on her fb..

since i usually had my period once or twice a year only because of my weight (obese) i tried drinking oolong tea and voila im having my monthly period now. 1/4 plang ang nagamit ko sa 100grams pack na oolong tea..

so i suggest you try drinking this para sa girls na may pcos and those who have irregular periods..

i was also diagnosed of having PCOS last year. signs were irregular menstruation and never ending acne since i had my mens at 13yo. i took pills last year for only 7mos and stopped. despite having PCOS, i got pregnant(3 1/2 mos at the present) that made my bf now ex so shocked. on my last utz, i found out that my left ovary has no more cysts while my right ovary still has a 1.something cm cyst. that is why i really consider my baby a blessing.

I was diagnosed with PCOS June of 2009.  That time may balak na tlaga akong magpakasal [textspeak!] halos 2 years na rin kame nagsasama ng husband ko na ngyon.  Matagal na naming gusto magkababy pero di ako mabuntis [textspeak!] irregular and mens ko minsan after 4 months tapos kapag nagkaron ako 1 month ako meron.  So nung bago ako magpakasal nagpacheck up ako and found out na may PCOS ako( di ko lang sure kung both).  Nung nalaman ng doctor na may PCOS ako niresetahan nya ako ng pampamens which is provera.  3 times a day kong iniinom yun for 5 days ata.  Tapos ang bilin nya lang is bumalik ako kapag dinatnan na ako.  Nung pagballik pinapili nya ako kung anung klaseng pills ang ibibigay nya sa aking contraceptive or fertility pills and since gusto ko na tlaga magkababy yung fertility pills ang pinili ko.  Generic name lang nireseta nya sa akin [textspeak!] mahal daw pero sa mercury ako bumili OVAMIT and binigay sa akin.  Just after 2 months na uminom ako nung gamot nabuntis ako.  swerte ko nga daw sabi ng doctor [textspeak!] ang bilis ko daw nabuntis [textspeak!] yung iba di daw sobrang tagal yung iba di na nagkakababy.  Pero sabi nga daw kapag nagbuntis ka na nagagamot sya pero yung sa akin bumalik... kaya magpapacheck ako ulet para magamot ulet sobrang tumataba na naman [textspeak!] ako....

hi sis, pinost ko na ito sa HCG topic but i want to comment my kapwa PCOS..

i was diagnose having PCOS last July 2011. that time nasa abroad pa si hubby. I'd observe na nagiging fertile naman ako. Minsan meron minsan wala. but my mens is very regular 28-30 days cycle. Aug 2012 dumating si hubby and then TTC na kami. Last october 25 i have my mens until oct 30. then nag do kme nov 3 onwards.. im expecting my mens on the 22nd of November pero walang dumating. So im thinking preggy na ako.. By nov 29 nag PT ako ng umaga. one line is pink and the other one is faint. then ilang minuto ang lumipas medyo luminaw na. SInce hindi ako content, nag PT uli ako on my exact bday, November 30, kinabukasan lang, and in just 3 seconds, super linaw ng 2 lines. Hindi pa ako nagpapacheck up sa OB ko.. kasi [textspeak!] ibang sintomas ko kapag nagmemens ako eh nararamdam ko.. yung puson minsan sumsakit, tapos may pasa ako sa tuhod, parang my tagyawat pa and [textspeak!] dandruff sa hair ko andito pa din.. pero ang nipple ko sobrang laki. diko na nakitang lumubog tulad dati.. mga sis palagay niyo ba preggy na ako.. please advise.
