4. "how does stock trading work"

If you're asking stock trading which is
what most people do, it's buying and selling stocks.

If you read through the guide, I'm pushing investments,
since it will become part of your passive income.

Trading is a job, which requires time.

Stock investing is buying a stock that you can
hold on for years w/c grows and earns for you.

Stock investing is more like buying a piece of a business,
and being the part owner of that business, you grow your
wealth accordingly, and not trading for the price differences.

THIS is the article that was referred to by the 1st page.

With the recent questions regarding stocks and $, I answered
the best I could given the information I had.

You see, investing isn't like what most traders do, who monitor
stocks daily, who monitor the exchange rates daily.

You can profit there, but it's a job, and not an investment.

So my point is, after reviewing my answers to questions, I said
to myself, I think it's about time to be updated.

And boy, I am so excited.

You see the reason for the US recession is because they over-
leveraged.

More housing loans were given, but not enough for people to
pay them.

Right now, that is being corrected, and it is expected that sometime
next year, the US economy is going to regain its strength.

What does that mean to us?

If you are already investing on $ and stocks, I believe that the best
time to acquire them is between the last quarter of the year and the
1st quarter of next year.

Why?

Because stocks right now (and the US $) is on the down turn.

Meaning they will hit very low, but not rock bottom, prices, which
is the REAL time and opportunity to buy.

When do you expect them to grow?

Within the next 3 or 5 years or so.

This is general hint, and if you want to explore further, I can discuss
why I believe this is so.

:)

Hmmm... I think I know.

My results, won't mean your results.
(Unless you and I buy at exactly the same time,
at exactly the same amount, at exactly the same
price, and sell likewise)

That's a major mistake most make.

Regardless, it doesn't affect the prediction.

I believe it will happen.

It's the same thing Warren Buffett is predicting.

Link here:
http://www.marketoracle.co.uk/Article29136.html

Again, the cause for the crisis is over leverage.

And in that article, he pointed out the over production
of housing.

Banks defaulted, which affect all businesses.

You correct the source, you correct the problem.

And it is what is happenning.

However, stock prices continue to dip.

Because of public opinion.

I love this thread. Please continue to educate us. We own stocks. Got it through an online broker. Mistake is that we chose to do trading instead of investing.

Need to correct our choice, coz it might cost us lots of money in the future. Do you conduct seminars?

wow! this is a great thread!

of all the investments mentioned, i got kinda confused.   ;D  i am excited to try stock market, balanced fund, equity, fund, mutual fund, etc.    but can you suggest which, among all investments, is the best to get before this last quarter ends?  and where to invest it to?  :)  Thanks!

I was searching for a second hand Robert Kiyosaki's book. I saw this thread though I am earning more than 20k I can only save a little. I have a son so I invested in an insurance thru Manulife. Maliit lang naman. I got a foreclosed lot from PagIbig, still paying the mortgage till 2018. I am hoping I will have more money para ma fully paid. I really need to start saving 10% of my salary. Thanks IamMarlo.

income is really relative, you just have to live within your means... it works. :)

This is very interesting. Right now about 30% of our income goes to savings/investments/retirement. Sana mag increase pa to

Ngaun ko lang naencounter 'tong thread na 'to, so I backread...kaka-nose bleed nga. hehe.
I'm turning 30 na so I came to a realization na ang tanda ko na, mahirap pa rin ako, hehe. Kaya this year target ko talaga maka-ipon man lang. Kaya nagkainteres ako basahin yun thread. Very inspiring. Parang gusto ko more than just save.

Ang problema ko lang, hanggang 'E' - Employment lang ako. How can I go to I-Investment kung wala akong naiintindihan.

But I am into MF kasi simple sya for me. I dont have to worry about the daily values and fluctuations of stocks, etc.

Madali lang mag MF, you can go to any MF Company or sa Banks. MF is also almost similar with UITF. You can inquire sa bank of your choice kung saan mo gusto mag open.

May mga banks din who have Regular Subscription Plans, meaning auto-debit from your account every month at nilalagay sa MF so forced savings din.

However, before going into investments, you have to build your Safety Fund first. This has to be liquid na you can withdraw easily during emergencies. But no so easy enough maybe that you will be tempted to withdraw kapag may gusto ka bilhin. So preferred placement medium would be TDs or SDAs. or Passbook Savings. Desired Safety fund is 3-6 month worth of your expenses.

Good luck sis. Dont worry about starting small. Most of us do this. At least umuusad :)

ako din sis, i'm into MF kasi simple to understand for me.  I practice cost averaging.  Every payday talaga may naka earmark na na nilalagay namin ni hubby doon aside sa nilalagay namin sa savings account.  di ko pa kasi maintindihan ang stocks.  gusto ko nga sana magcitisec pero di ko pa din gets. So far, good earnings MF ko.
