Trying to look around for yoga classes. But I'm having second thoughts because I have fracture on both arms, pwede pa rin kaya ako sa yoga? I just want to be fitter and to find inner peace, haha!

Yes, it is permissible. It is important though for you to be concise with the teacher abt the nature of the fracture you sustained so he/she would be able to know which poses would be suitable for you. Most would be balancing poses, standing postures,  seated poses and probably certain inversions.

That;s one good thing about attending yoga classes. You could actually try doing the inversions despite the restrictions from a previously injured arm bec the teacher will tell you which muscle to activate to be able to do the pose right. Usually naman kasi ng inversions is for core strength and you will hardly feel strain from your arms, even from the shoulders. Even though you use or involve arms to prop your legs up.

Try a class. There are so many studios these days, they're all over the place! May inner peace be finally with you :)

After a year of procrastinating, i was able to attend my first yoga class at Edsa Shangri-La yesterday. We attended the slow flow yoga class, perfect for beginners and 6 kami sa class. Madami na daw yun sabi ng instructor kaya natuwa kami. She was able to correct our pose and modify it for beginners para we take it slow lang. It was so nice. My friend and I felt relaxed and happy after, gumaan yung back muscles ko.

ok ba ang yoga even for plus sized women?

YUP! I have a friend who was around 220lbs 5'5 . He lost about 1/4 of an inch every week. He did yoga once a week plus 10 minutes a day at home. The great thing about yoga is you don't have to get fit before starting .. yoga will do that for you.  :D

Try to find a yoga studio that suits your style. I have found the best teachers are the ones that give you options to all the poses or asanas. Every pose has a beginner version. So the good teachers will always show you those.

Cheers and have fun in your yoga journey

This is one of my teacher's fb pages. She just started it but she plans to give tips on how to do the poses. You might want to check it out. The blog/fb page is supposed to start officially in January so its kinda still in its beginning stages. So check it out.

natawa ko sa intro mo -- i myself have been procrastinating for years!
lapit lang ako sa venue na to -- ok lang ba if every other day lang mag-yoga?

^^^ Sis Kitings, san mo plan magyoga? Gusto ko din magstart sana sa Yoga Plus Ortigas kaso tinatamad pa ko. Everyday nasa website nila ko pero di ko magawang pumunta. Kelangan ata may kasama para mas mamotivate.

Does anyone know kung kelangan mag-reserve sa website ng Yoga Plus before going to class?

TIA!

I had fun in yesterday's class sa beyond yoga il terrzo. Super jam packed kami, around 23 and yeah disadvantage lang sa qc branch is maliit yung space. Pero ang saya lang and hindi naman ako nahirapan for a first timer like me.  ;)

^ Marami bang taga-GT ang pumupunta sa Beyond Yoga?

Any of you go to Rachel Lim's class? How's she as an instructor?
