I tried yoga in fitness first MOA branch. I attended the gentle flow yoga classes. Based on my experience (year 2008-2009), almost all the time late ng 5-10minutes yun instructor.

Hay after my contract i'll go to a Yoga Studio <3

@iluvescadasport: hi sis, is that experience based from the same instructor or it occurred similarly with the other instructors? I might take a few classes from a studio near my place and I was told from FF daw yun coach. I'm wondering if there's a certain pattern or style of teaching yoga amongst FF instructors

^it's the same instructor, but that was way back 2008 (or 2007? Can't remember when ako nagpamember for ff hahaha). Baka iba na ngayon. I only attended two kinds of yoga that time. One class was called gentle flow (or hatha yoga, basta may words na gentle, hatha and yoga. Sorry talaga, matagal na so I can't remember). Then the other class was like a combination of yoga and pilates (of course, I can't remember the name). But if somebody can gives me the names of the classes, baka matandaan ko.

Sorry talaga

@iluvescadasport and gray: thanks gurls. Id start attending bikram yoga soon. And I cant wait to be sweating profusely sans the blazing fast heart rate, which Im so used to bec of my predilection for aero workouts. I was informed nga by one of the gurls I spoke with in the class that she has limited the frequency of her cardio routines ever since she did yoga and she gets to gain the same benefit, more or less.

alam ko pwde, but hindi advisable to do inversions. But my friend attended ya twice na mern cya period.

^since I suppose that elementary background of yoga thru the instructional dvd still resides in your memory, you can try Flow or Vinyasa and attend a class where the use of props like blocks and straps is advised for beginners, especially if youre not too confident of your strength and flexibility yet. There are a number of credible, reputable yoga studios here in manila with Pinoy yogis naman eh. What's nice about this is that the synchronicity of breathing and movement is given much emphasis which makes for a very relaxing yet a fairly intensive workout. Although once youve immersed yourself fully into the practice, it becomes much more than a workout.

I am hardly flexible sis. My reach, when I stoop down from a standing pose, can only go as far as a few inches below the knees. This is where props can help to improve flexibility.

---

Ive done some backreading on archived threads on Yoga that date back as far as '08 and I have to say that part comprises the meatiest discourse about Yoga here on GT. So for anyone who's been meaning to immerse themselves in the practice further, it'll be advantageous to pore over the posts on succeeding pages of this specific part of the old thread > http://www.femalenetwork.com/girltalk/index.php/topic,172315.320.html

FYI:

Cash-cash pinoy has an ongoing promo for 1hr yoga classes. Along edsa yata yung dance studio.

It's for 150 only =)

I do Yoga since I was in college. That was 9 years ago.. Nag stop ako nung nag work ako. Start ako ulit last month lang. Medyo masakit na naman. hehe Yoga for stretching/flexibility kasi yung ginagawa ko because I do jazz dance. So nakakatulog yun sakin. I do it at least 2-3x a week. =)

nung araw rin na nagpost ako dito sa thread na to, we went out ni hubby. got a hard bound book about yoga for beginners and advanced students for only dhs39! bargain di ba? may props nga for beginners and poses, blocks, straps and cushions. thanks pala sis od sa link of the previous thread. will check it out. :)
