i've heard sa iba "I will gonna" 

ang tama is "I'm gonna" or maybe "I will" di ba? 
nahihiya ako i-correct naman baka maoffend e.

^ sis, ako hindi ko na pinapansin yung grammar errors. hehe... nagkakaintindihan naman kami eh. I used to be a real stickler for grammar and pronunciation but not anymore. I like this thread though.

^^ "I'm gonna" although I believe "I'm going to" is more appropriate.The word "gonna" is unacceptable when used in formal writing.

Ako naman, I can't help but notice the grammar especially 'pag text ko nababasa. It frustrates me sometimes na mas magaling pa ako mag-English than some people I know who have had higher education than mine ('yung mga nag-masters, PhD and the likes). I mean, if you were smart enough to aim for more than just an undergraduate degree, then it obviously won't be too difficult to learn proper grammar.

I don't get it why people use the language just for the sake of getting messages across. Grammar has a LOT to do with how people could interpret what you say. But then again, that's just me. Peace po.

^^hi sis! ako kasi minsan hindi ko matiis. haha! lalo na kapag close ko yung tao talagang sinasabi ko. I don't mean naman to embarrass the person but just to make him/her aware kung ano yung tama. pero kapag hindi ko kaclose tapos narinig ko ganon esp. kung medyo mataas ang expectation ko dun sa tao minsan napapaisip ako kung ako ba yung mali o siya? aminado naman kasi ako na hindi rin perfect ang grammar ko pero i always try to improve it talaga.. hahaha! but you're right as long as nagkakaintindihan kayo minsan pwede na rin yun.

kebs lang kung wrong grammar tapos kayo kayo lang ng mga kaibigan mo nag uusap. pero kapag in a professional capacity na, lalo na kung sa superiors at di lang sa coworkers, parang napaka walang galang kung di ka mag-effort na magsalita/magsulat ng matino eh. ayaw man natin o gusto, English = primary language of the business world, kaya dapat ayusin natin.

may dalawang former classmate ako, parehong nakapasok sa isang company. sa totoo lang, mas matalino yung una, pero naunang napromote yung pangalawa kasi mas maayos magsalita/magsulat.

ako mali lagi grammar ko pero keri lang pag kausap ko asawa ko at anak sanay na raw sila so di na nila pansin mali pala grammar ko pag naririnig naman ng pamilya ko sa pinas galing ko daw mag english.

but mind you pasulatin mo mga english ng letter di lang grammar ang mali spelling pa. kulit lang asawa ko at anak sa akin pa nagappaturo ng spelling at grammar. huh!!!

Your is the second person possessive adjective, used to describe something as belonging to you. Your is nearly always followed by a noun.

You're is the contraction of "you are" and is often followed by the present participle.

dito sa US, very common mistake ng mga Pinoy ay ang usage ng 'HE' and 'SHE' pronouns while talking.  esp sa mga nurses, kasi they have to talk to the doctors all the time and i heard a complaint one time from a doctor saying he cannot make out  the gender of the patient, kasi yung nurse would refer to the patient as 'he' then sometimes 'she'.
i' myself am guilty of the same mistake once in a while so i really have to make an extra effort while speaking that my pronouns are in order.
the only explanation i can think of of this phenomenon is because in Tagalog, we don't have separate male and female pronouns.  Both sexes are referred to as 'siya' kaya i guess our brains have a hard time transitioning to use the appropriate pronouns.

Even my boss commit this grammar mistake.. Nakkahiya.. Kapag may foreign visitor kami. He even use irregardless which I think is wrong.. Pero I am guilty din naman and correct myself immediately..  ^_^

^^ yes, totally agree (about faulty parallelism),  more common in the written form.

3. How much are your rates? (kung iba-iba ang rate)
4. How much is your rate? (kapag fixed or flat rate regardless of whatever)
